سورة لقمان

شروع کرتا ہوں اللہ تعا لٰی کے نام سے جو بڑا مہربان نہایت رحم والا ہے ۔

In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.

الم

Alif, Lam, Meem.

یہ حکمت والی کتاب کی آیتیں ہیں ۔

These are verses of the wise Book,

جو نیکوکاروں کے لئے رہبر اور ( سراسر ) رحمت ہے ۔

As guidance and mercy for the doers of good

جو لوگ نماز قائم کرتے ہیں اور زکوۃ ادا کرتے ہیں اور آخرت پر ( کامل ) یقین رکھتے ہیں ۔

Who establish prayer and give zakah, and they, of the Hereafter, are certain [in faith].

یہی لوگ ہیں جو اپنے رب کی طرف سے ہدایت پر ہیں اور یہی لوگ نجات پانے والے ہیں ۔

Those are on [right] guidance from their Lord, and it is those who are the successful.

اور بعض لوگ ایسے بھی ہیں جو لغو باتوں کو مول لیتے ہیں کہ بے علمی کے ساتھ لوگوں کو اللہ کی راہ سے بہکائیں اور اسے ہنسی بنائیں یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے رسوا کرنے والا عذاب ہے ۔

And of the people is he who buys the amusement of speech to mislead [others] from the way of Allah without knowledge and who takes it in ridicule. Those will have a humiliating punishment.

جب اس کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں تلاوت کی جاتی ہیں تو تکبر کرتا ہوا اس طرح منہ پھیر لیتا ہے گویا اس نے سنا ہی نہیں گویا کہ اس کے دونوں کانوں میں ڈاٹ لگے ہوئے ہیں آپ اسے دردناک عذاب کی خبر سنا دیجئے ۔

And when our verses are recited to him, he turns away arrogantly as if he had not heard them, as if there was in his ears deafness. So give him tidings of a painful punishment.

بیشک جن لوگوں نے ایمان قبول کیا اور کام بھی نیک ( مطابق سنت ) کئے ان کے لئے نعمتوں والی جنتیں ہیں ۔

Indeed, those who believe and do righteous deeds - for them are the Gardens of Pleasure.

جہاں وہ ہمیشہ رہیں گے ۔ اللہ کا سچا وعدہ ہے ، وہ بہت بڑی عزت و غلبہ والا اور کامل حکمت والا ہے ۔

Wherein they abide eternally; [it is] the promise of Allah [which is] truth. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

اسی نے آسمانوں کو بغیر ستون کے پیدا کیا ہے تم انہیں دیکھ رہے ہو اور اس نے زمین میں پہاڑوں کو ڈال دیا تاکہ وہ تمہیں جنبش نہ دے سکے اور ہر طرح کے جاندار زمین میں پھیلا دیئے اور ہم نے آسمان سے پانی برسا کر زمین میں ہر قسم کے نفیس جوڑے اگا دیئے ۔

He created the heavens without pillars that you see and has cast into the earth firmly set mountains, lest it should shift with you, and dispersed therein from every creature. And We sent down rain from the sky and made grow therein [plants] of every noble kind.

یہ ہے اللہ کی مخلوق اب تم مجھے اس کے سوا دوسرے کسی کی کوئی مخلوق تو دکھاؤ ( کچھ نہیں ) بلکہ یہ ظالم کھلی گمراہی میں ہیں ۔

This is the creation of Allah . So show Me what those other than Him have created. Rather, the wrongdoers are in clear error.

اور ہم نے یقیناً لقمان کو حکمت دی تھی کہ تو اللہ تعالٰی کا شکر کر ہر شکر کرنے والا اپنے ہی نفع کے لئے شکر کرتا ہے جو بھی ناشکری کرے وہ جان لے کہ اللہ تعالٰی بے نیاز اور تعریفوں والا ہے ۔

And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah ." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

اور جب کہ لقمان نے وعظ کہتے ہوئے اپنے لڑکے سے فرمایا کہ میرے پیارے بچے! اللہ کے ساتھ شریک نہ کرنا بیشک شرک بڑا بھاری ظلم ہے ۔

And [mention, O Muhammad], when Luqman said to his son while he was instructing him, "O my son, do not associate [anything] with Allah . Indeed, association [with him] is great injustice."

ہم نے انسان کو اس کے ماں باپ کے متعلق نصیحت کی ہے ، اس کی ماں نے دکھ پر دکھ اٹھا کر اسے حمل میں رکھا اور اس کی دودھ چھڑائی دو برس میں ہے کہ تو میری اور اپنے ماں باپ کی شکر گزاری کر ، ( تم سب کو ) میری ہی طرف لوٹ کر آنا ہے ۔

And We have enjoined upon man [care] for his parents. His mother carried him, [increasing her] in weakness upon weakness, and his weaning is in two years. Be grateful to Me and to your parents; to Me is the [final] destination.

اور اگر وہ دونوں تجھ پر اس بات کا دباؤ ڈالیں کہ تو میرے ساتھ شریک کرے جس کا تجھے علم نہ ہو تو تو ان کا کہنا نہ ماننا ، ہاں دنیا میں ان کے ساتھ اچھی طرح بسر کرنا اور اس کی راہ چلنا جو میری طرف جھکا ہوا ہو تمہارا سب کا لوٹنا میری ہی طرف ہے تم جو کچھ کرتے ہو اس سے پھر میں تمہیں خبردار کردوں گا ۔

But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, do not obey them but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness and follow the way of those who turn back to Me [in repentance]. Then to Me will be your return, and I will inform you about what you used to do.

پیارے بیٹے! اگر کوئی چیز رائی کے دانے کے برابر ہو پھر وہ ( بھی ) خواہ کسی چٹان میں ہو یا آسمانوں میں ہو یا زمین میں ہو اسے اللہ تعالٰی ضرور لائے گا اللہ تعالٰی بڑا باریک بین اور خبردار ہے ۔

[And Luqman said], "O my son, indeed if wrong should be the weight of a mustard seed and should be within a rock or [anywhere] in the heavens or in the earth, Allah will bring it forth. Indeed, Allah is Subtle and Acquainted.

اے میرے پیارے بیٹے! تو نماز قائم رکھنا اچھے کاموں کی نصیحت کرتے رہنا ، برے کاموں سے منع کیا کرنا اور جو مصیبت تم پر آئے صبر کرنا ( یقین مان ) کہ یہ بڑے تاکیدی کاموں میں سے ہے ۔

O my son, establish prayer, enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and be patient over what befalls you. Indeed, [all] that is of the matters [requiring] determination.

لوگوں کے سامنے اپنے گال نہ پھلا اور زمین پراترا کر نہ چل کسی تکبر کرنے والے شیخی خورے کو اللہ تعا لٰی پسند نہیں فرماتا ۔

And do not turn your cheek [in contempt] toward people and do not walk through the earth exultantly. Indeed, Allah does not like everyone self-deluded and boastful.

اپنی رفتار میں میانہ روی اختیار کر اور اپنی آواز پست کر یقیناً آوازوں میں سب سے بدتر آواز گدھوں کی آواز ہے ۔

And be moderate in your pace and lower your voice; indeed, the most disagreeable of sounds is the voice of donkeys."

کیا تم نہیں دیکھتے کہ اللہ تعالٰی نے زمین اور آسمان کی ہرچیز کو تمارے کام میں لگا رکھا ہے اور تمہیں اپنی ظاہری و باطنی نعمتیں بھرپور دے رکھی ہیں بعض لوگ اللہ کے بارے میں بغیر علم کے اور بغیر ہدایت کے اور بغیر روشن کتاب کے جھگڑا کرتے ہیں ۔

Do you not see that Allah has made subject to you whatever is in the heavens and whatever is in the earth and amply bestowed upon you His favors, [both] apparent and unapparent? But of the people is he who disputes about Allah without knowledge or guidance or an enlightening Book [from Him].

اور جب ان سے کہا جاتا ہے کہ اللہ کی اتاری ہوئی وحی کی تابعداری کرو تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے تو جس طریق پر اپنے باپ دادوں کو پایا ہے اسی کی تابعداری کریں گے ، اگرچہ شیطان ان کے بڑوں کو دوزخ کے عذاب کی طرف بلاتا ہو ۔

And when it is said to them, "Follow what Allah has revealed," they say, "Rather, we will follow that upon which we found our fathers." Even if Satan was inviting them to the punishment of the Blaze?

اور جو ( شخص ) اپنے آپ کو اللہ کے تابع کر دے اور ہو بھی وہ نیکوکار یقیناً اس نے مضبوط کڑا تھام لیا تمام کاموں کا انجام اللہ کی طرف ہے ۔

And whoever submits his face to Allah while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allah will be the outcome of [all] matters.

کافروں کے کفر سے آپ رنجیدہ نہ ہوں آخر ان سب کا لوٹنا تو ہماری جانب ہی ہے پھر ہم ان کو بتائیں گے جو انہوں نے کیا ، بیشک اللہ سینوں کے بھیدوں تک سے واقف ہے ۔

And whoever has disbelieved - let not his disbelief grieve you. To Us is their return, and We will inform them of what they did. Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

ہم انہیں گو کچھ یونہی سا فائدہ دے دیں لیکن ( بالآخر ) ہم انہیں نہایت بیچارگی کی حالت میں سخت عذاب کی طرف ہنکالے جائیں گے ۔

We grant them enjoyment for a little; then We will force them to a massive punishment.

اگر آپ ان سے دریافت کریں کہ آسمان و زمین کا خالق کون ہے؟ تو یہ ضرور جواب دیں گے کہ اللہ تو کہہ دیجئے کہ سب تعریفوں کے لائق اللہ ہی ہے لیکن ان میں کے اکثر بے علم ہیں ۔

And if you asked them, "Who created the heavens and earth?" they would surely say, " Allah ." Say, "[All] praise is [due] to Allah "; but most of them do not know.

آسمانوں میں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے وہ سب اللہ ہی کا ہے یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی بہت بڑا بے نیاز اور سزاوار حمد و ثنا ہے ۔

To Allah belongs whatever is in the heavens and earth. Indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

روئے زمین کے ( تمام ) درختوں کی اگر قلمیں ہوجائیں اور تمام سمندروں کی سیاہی ہو اور ان کے بعد سات سمندر اور ہوں تاہم اللہ کے کلمات ختم نہیں ہو سکتے بیشک اللہ تعالٰی غالب اور باحکمت ہے ۔

And if whatever trees upon the earth were pens and the sea [was ink], replenished thereafter by seven [more] seas, the words of Allah would not be exhausted. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise.

تم سب کی پیدائش اور مرنے کے بعد جلانا ایسا ہی ہے جیسے ایک جی کا ، بیشک اللہ تعالٰی سننے والا دیکھنے والا ہے ۔

Your creation and your resurrection will not be but as that of a single soul. Indeed, Allah is Hearing and Seeing.

کیا آپ نہیں دیکھتے کہ اللہ تعالٰی رات کو دن میں اور دن کو رات میں کھپا دیتا ہے سورج چاند کو اسی نے فرماں بردار کر رکھا ہے کہ ہر ایک مقررہ وقت تک چلتا رہے اللہ تعالٰی ہر اس چیز سے جو تم کرتے ہو خبردار ہے ۔

Do you not see that Allah causes the night to enter the day and causes the day to enter the night and has subjected the sun and the moon, each running [its course] for a specified term, and that Allah , with whatever you do, is Acquainted?

یہ سب ( انتظامات ) اس وجہ سے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالٰی حق ہے اور اس کے سوا جن جن کو لوگ پکارتے ہیں سب باطل ہیں اور یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی بہت بلندیوں والا اور بڑی شان والا ہے ۔

That is because Allah is the Truth, and that what they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand.

کیا تم اس پر غور نہیں کرتے کہ دریا میں کشتیاں اللہ کے فضل سے چل رہی ہیں اس لئے کہ وہ تمہیں اپنی نشانیاں دکھا دے ، یقیناً اس میں ہر ایک صبر و شکر کرنے والے کے لئے بہت سی نشانیاں ہیں ۔

Do you not see that ships sail through the sea by the favor of Allah that He may show you of His signs? Indeed in that are signs for everyone patient and grateful.

اور جب ان پر موجیں سائبانوں کی طرح چھا جاتی ہیں تو وہ ( نہایت ) خلوص کے ساتھ اعتقاد کر کے اللہ تعالٰی ہی کو پکارتے ہیں پھر جب وہ ( باری تعالیٰ ) انہیں نجات دے کر خشکی کی طرف پہنچاتا ہے تو کچھ ان میں سے اعتدال پر رہتے ہیں اور ہماری آیتوں کا انکار صرف وہی کرتے ہیں جو بدعہد اور ناشکرے ہوں ۔

And when waves come over them like canopies, they supplicate Allah , sincere to Him in religion. But when He delivers them to the land, there are [some] of them who are moderate [in faith]. And none rejects Our signs except everyone treacherous and ungrateful.

لوگو !اپنے رب سے ڈرو اور اس دن کا خوف کرو جس دن باپ اپنے بیٹے کو کوئی نفع نہ پہنچا سکے گا اور نہ بیٹا اپنے باپ کا ذرا سا بھی نفع کرنے والا ہوگا ( یاد رکھو ) اللہ کا وعدہ سچا ہے ( دیکھو ) تمہیں دنیا کی زندگی دھوکے میں نہ ڈالے اور نہ دھوکے باز ( شیطان ) تمہیں دھوکے میں ڈال دے ۔

O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day when no father will avail his son, nor will a son avail his father at all. Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver.

بیشک اللہ تعالٰی ہی کے پاس قیامت کا علم ہے وہی بارش نازل فرماتا ہے اور ماں کے پیٹ میں جو ہے اسے جانتا ہے کوئی ( بھی ) نہیں جانتا کہ کل کیا ( کچھ ) کرے گا؟ نہ کسی کو یہ معلوم ہے کہ کس زمین میں مرے گا ( یاد رکھو ) اللہ تعالٰی ہی پورے علم والا اور صحیح خبروں والا ہے ۔

Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.
