In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
By those [angels] lined up in rows
Qasam hai saf bandhney walay ( farishton ki ) .
गवाह है परा जमाकर पंक्तिबद्ध होने वाले;
And those who drive [the clouds]
Phir poori tarah dantney walon ki.
फिर डाँटने वाले;
And those who recite the message,
Phir zikar-e-Allah ki tilawat kerney walon ki.
फिर यह ज़िक्र करने वाले
Indeed, your God is One,
Yaqeenan tum sab ka mabood aik hi hai.
कि तुम्हारा पूज्य-प्रभु अकेला है।
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them and Lord of the sunrises.
Aasmano aur zamin aur inn kay darmiyan ki tamam cheezon aur mashriqon ka rab wohi hai.
वह आकाशों और धरती और जो कुछ उन के बीच है सबका रब है और पूर्व दिशाओं का भी रब है
Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars
Hum ney aasman-e-duniya ko sitaron ki zeenat say aaraasta kiya.
हम ने दुनिया के आकाश को सजावट अर्थात तारों से सुसज्जित किया, (रात में मुसाफ़िरों को मार्ग दिखाने के लिए)
And as protection against every rebellious devil
Aur hifazat ki sirkash shetan say.
और प्रत्येक सरकश शैतान से सुरक्षित रखने के लिए
[So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side,
Aalam-e-bala kay farishton ( ki baaton ) ko sunnay kay liye woh kaan bhi nahi laga saktay bulkay her taraf say woh maaray jatay hain.
वे (शैतान) "मलए आला" की ओर कान नहीं लगा पाते और हर ओर से फेंक मारे जाते हैं भगाने-धुतकारने के लिए।
Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment,
Bhaganey kay liye aur unn kay liye daeemi azab hai.
और उन के लिए अनवरत यातना है
Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].
Magar jo koi aik aadh baat uchak lay bhagay to ( foran hi ) uss kay peechay dehakta hua shola lag jata hai.
किन्तु यह और बात है कि कोई कुछ उचक ले, इस दशा में एक तेज़ दहकती उल्का उस का पीछा करती है
Then inquire of them, [O Muhammad], "Are they a stronger [or more difficult] creation or those [others] We have created?" Indeed, We created men from sticky clay.
Inn kafiron say poocho to kay aaya inn ka peda kerna ziyadah dushwaar hai ya ( unn ka ) jinhen hum ney ( inn kay ilawa ) peda kiya? Hum ney ( insano ) ko less daar mitti say peda kiya hai.
अब उन से पूछो कि उन के पैदा करने का काम अधिक कठिन है या उन चीज़ों का, जो हम ने पैदा कर रखी हैं। निस्संदेह हम ने उन को लेसदार मिट्टी से पैदा किया।
But you wonder, while they mock,
Bulkay tu tajjub ker raha hai aur yeh maskhara pan ker rahey hain.
बल्कि तुम तो आश्चर्य में हो और वे हैं कि परिहास कर रहे हैं
And when they are reminded, they remember not.
Aur jab enhen naseehat ki jati hai yeh nahi mantay.
और जब उन्हें याद दिलाया जाता है, तो वे याद नहीं करते,
And when they see a sign, they ridicule
Aur jab kissi moajzzay ko dekhtay hain to mazaq uratay hain.
और जब कोई निशानी देखते हैं तो हँसी उड़ाते हैं
And say, "This is not but obvious magic.
Aur kehtay hain kay yeh to bilkul khullam khulla jadoo hi hai.
और कहते हैं, "यह तो बस एक प्रत्यक्ष जादू है
When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
Kiya jab hum mar jayen gay aur khak aur haddi hojayen gay phir kiya ( sach much ) hum uthaye jayen gay?
क्या जब हम मर चुके होंगे और मिट्टी और हड्डियाँ होकर रह जाएँगे, तो क्या फिर हम उठाए जाएँगे?
And our forefathers [as well]?"
Kiya hum say pehlay kay humaray baap dada bhi?
क्या और हमारे पहले के बाप-दादा भी?"
Say, "Yes, and you will be [rendered] contemptible."
Aap jawab dijiye! Kay haan haan aur tum zaleel ( bhi ) howo gay.
कह दो, "हाँ! और तुम अपमानित भी होंगे।"
It will be only one shout, and at once they will be observing.
Woh to sirf aik zor ki jhirki hai kay yakayak yeh dekhney lagay gay.
वह तो बस एक झिड़की होगी। फिर क्या देखेंगे कि वे ताकने लगे हैं
They will say, "O woe to us! This is the Day of Recompense."
Aur kahen gay kay haye humari kharabi yehi jaza ( saza ) ka din hai.
और वे कहेंगे, "ऐ अफ़सोस हम पर! यह तो बदले का दिन है।"
[They will be told], "This is the Day of Judgement which you used to deny."
Yehi faislay ka din hai jissay tum jhutlatay rahey.
यह वही फ़ैसले का दिन है जिसे तुम झुठलाते रहे हो
[The angels will be ordered], "Gather those who committed wrong, their kinds, and what they used to worship
Zalimon ko aur unn kay humrahiyon ko aur ( jin ) jin ki woh Allah kay ilawa parastish kertay thay.
(कहा जाएगा) "एकत्र करो उन लोगों को जिन्होंने ज़ुल्म किया और उन के जोड़ीदारों को भी और उन को भी जिनकी अल्लाह से हटकर वे बन्दगी करते रहे हैं।
Other than Allah , and guide them to the path of Hellfire
( inn sab ko ) jama kerkay enhen dozakh ki raah dikha do.
फिर उन सबको भड़कती हुई आग की राह दिखाओ!"
And stop them; indeed, they are to be questioned."
Aur enhen theraklo ( iss liye ) kay inn say ( zaroori ) sawal kiyey janay walay hain.
और तनिक उन्हें ठहराओ, उन से पूछना है,
[They will be asked], "What is [wrong] with you? Why do you not help each other?"
Tumhen kiya hogaya hai kay ( iss waqt ) tum aik doosray ki madad nahi kertay.
"तुम्हें क्या हो गया, जो तुम एक-दूसरे की सहायता नहीं कर रहे हो?"
But they, that Day, are in surrender.
Bulkay woh ( sab kay sab ) aaj farmanbardaar bann gaye.
बल्कि वे तो आज बड़े आज्ञाकारी हो गए हैं
And they will approach one another blaming each other.
Woh aik doosray ki taraf mutawajja hoker sawal-o-jawab kerney lagen gay.
वे एक-दूसरे की ओर रुख़ करके पूछते हुए कहेंगे,
They will say, "Indeed, you used to come at us from the right."
Kahen gay kay tum to humaray pass humari dayen taraf say aatay thay.
"तुम तो हमारे पास आते थे दाहिने से (और बाएँ से)"
The oppressors will say, "Rather, you [yourselves] were not believers,
Woh jawab den gay kay nahi bulkay tum hi eman daar na thay.
वे कहेंगे, "नहीं, बल्कि तुम स्वयं ही ईमान वाले न थे
And we had over you no authority, but you were a transgressing people.
Aur kuch humara zor to tum per tha ( hi ) nahi. Bulkay tum ( khud ) sirkash log thay.
और हमारा तो तुम पर कोई ज़ोर न था, बल्कि तुम स्वयं ही सरकश लोग थे
So the word of our Lord has come into effect upon us; indeed, we will taste [punishment].
Abb to hum ( sab ) per humaray rab ki yeh baat sabit ho chuki kay hum ( azab ) chakhney walay hain.
अन्ततः हम पर हमारे रब की बात सत्यापित होकर रही। निस्संदेह हमें (अपनी करतूत का) मजा़ चखना ही होगा
And we led you to deviation; indeed, we were deviators."
Pus hum ney tumhen gumrah kiya hum to khud bhi gumrah hi thay.
सो हम ने तुम्हे बहकाया। निश्चय ही हम स्वयं बहके हुए थे।"
So indeed they, that Day, will be sharing in the punishment.
So abb aaj kay din to ( sab kay sab ) azab mein shareek hain.
अतः वे सब उस दिन यातना में एक-दूसरे के सह-भागी होंगे
Indeed, that is how We deal with the criminals.
Hum gunehgaaro kay sath issi tarah kiya kertay hain.
हम अपराधियों के साथ ऐसा ही किया करते हैं
Indeed they, when it was said to them, "There is no deity but Allah ," were arrogant
Yeh woh ( log ) hain kay jab inn say kaha jata hai kay Allah kay siwa koi mabood nahi to yeh sirkashi kertay thay.
उन का हाल यह था कि जब उन से कहा जाता कि "अल्लाह के सिवा कोई पूज्य-प्रभु नहीं है।" तो वे घमंड में आ जाते थे
And were saying, "Are we to leave our gods for a mad poet?"
Aur kehtay thay kay kiya hum apnay maboodon ko aik deewaney shaeer ki baat per chor den?
और कहते थे, "क्या हम एक उन्मादी कवि के लिए अपने उपास्यों को छोड़ दें?"
Rather, the Prophet has come with the truth and confirmed the [previous] messengers.
( nahi nahi ) bulkay ( nabi ) to haq ( sacha deen ) laye hain aur sab rasoolon ko sach jantay hain.
"नहीं, बल्कि वह सत्य लेकर आया है और वह (पिछले) रसूलों की पुष्टि में है।
Indeed, you [disbelievers] will be tasters of the painful punishment,
Yaqeenan tum dard-naak azab ( ka maza ) chakhney walay ho.
निश्चय ही तुम दुखद यातना का मज़ा चखोगे। -
And you will not be recompensed except for what you used to do -
Tumhen ussi ka badla diya jayega jo tum kertay thay.
"तुम बदला वही तो पाओगे जो तुम करते हो।"
But not the chosen servants of Allah .
Magar Allah Taalaa kay khalis bargazeedah banday.
अलबत्ता अल्लाह के उन बन्दों की बात और है, जिन को उस ने चुन लिया है
Those will have a provision determined -
Unhin kay liye muqarrara rozi hai.
वही लोग हैं जिन के लिए जानी-बूझी रोज़ी है,
Fruits; and they will be honored
( her tarah kay ) meway aur ba-izzat-o-ikraam hongay.
स्वादिष्ट फल।
In gardens of pleasure
Nematon wali jannaton mein.
और वे नेमत भरी जन्नतों
On thrones facing one another.
Takhton per aik doosray kay samney ( bethay ) hongay.
में सम्मानपूर्वक होंगे, तख़्तों पर आमने-सामने विराजमान होंगे;
There will be circulated among them a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring,
Jaari sharab kay jaam ka unn per dor chal raha hoga.
उन के बीच विशुद्ध पेय का पात्र फिराया जाएगा,
White and delicious to the drinkers;
Jo saaf shaffaf peenay mein lazeez hogi.
बिलकुल साफ़, उज्जवल, पीने वालों के लिए सर्वथा सुस्वादु
No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated.
Na uss say dard-e-sir ho aur na uss kay peenay say behken.
न उस में कोई ख़ुमार होगा और न वे उस से निढाल और मदहोश होंगे।
And with them will be women limiting [their] glances, with large, [beautiful] eyes,
Aur unn kay pass neechi nazron bari bari aankhon wali ( hooren ) hongi.
और उन के पास निगाहें बचाए रखने वाली, सुन्दर आँखों वाली स्त्रियाँ होंगी,
As if they were [delicate] eggs, well-protected.
Aisi jesay chupaye huyey anday.
मानो वे सुरक्षित अंडे हैं
