الفاظ ( اَوَلَمْ )

اور جب ابراہیم ( علیہ السلام ) نے کہا کہ اے میرے پروردگار !مجھے دکھا تو مُردوں کو کس طرح زندہ کرے گا ؟ ( جناب باری تعالٰی نے ) فرمایا کیا تمہیں ایمان نہیں؟ جواب دیا ایمان تو ہے لیکن میرے دل کی تسکین ہو جائے گی فرمایا چار پرند لو ، ان کے ٹکڑے کر ڈالو پھر ہر پہاڑپر ان کا ایک ایک ٹکڑا رکھ دو پھر انہیں پکارو تمہارے پاس دوڑتے ہوئے آجائیں گے اور جان رکھو کہ اللہ تعالٰی غالب ہے حکمتوں والا ہے ،

And [mention] when Abraham said, "My Lord, show me how You give life to the dead." [ Allah ] said, "Have you not believed?" He said, "Yes, but [I ask] only that my heart may be satisfied." [ Allah ] said, "Take four birds and commit them to yourself. Then [after slaughtering them] put on each hill a portion of them; then call them - they will come [flying] to you in haste. And know that Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise."

اور کیا ان لوگوں کو جو زمین کے وارث ہوئے وہاں کے لوگوں کی ہلاکت کے بعد ( ان واقعات مذکورہ نے ) یہ بات نہیں بتلائی کہ اگر ہم چاہیں تو ان کے جرائم کے سبب ان کو ہلاک کر ڈالیں اور ہم ان کے دلوں پر بند لگادیں ، پس وہ نہ سن سکیں

Has it not become clear to those who inherited the earth after its [previous] people that if We willed, We could afflict them for their sins? But We seal over their hearts so they do not hear.

کیا ان لوگوں نے اس بات پر غور نہ کیا کہ ان کے ساتھی کو ذرا بھی جنون نہیں وہ تو صرف ایک صاف صاف ڈرانے والے ہیں ۔

Then do they not give thought? There is in their companion [Muhammad] no madness. He is not but a clear warner.

اور کیا ان لوگوں نے غور نہیں کیا آسمانوں اور زمین کے عالم میں اور دوسری چیزوں میں جو اللہ نے پیدا کیں ہیں اور اس بات میں کہ ممکن ہے کہ ان کی اجل قریب ہی آپہنچی ہو پھر قرآن کے بعد کون سی بات پر یہ لوگ ایمان لائیں گے؟

Do they not look into the realm of the heavens and the earth and everything that Allah has created and [think] that perhaps their appointed time has come near? So in what statement hereafter will they believe?

کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے؟ کہ ہم زمین کو اس کے کناروں سے گھٹاتے چلے آرہے ہیں اللہ حکم کرتا ہے کوئی اس کے احکام پیچھے ڈالنے والا نہیں وہ جلد حساب لینے والا ہے ۔

Have they not seen that We set upon the land, reducing it from its borders? And Allah decides; there is no adjuster of His decision. And He is swift in account.

لوگوں کو اس دن سے ہوشیار کر دے جب کے ان کے پاس عذاب آجائے گا ، اور ظالم کہیں گے کہ اے ہمارے رب ہمیں بہت تھوڑے قریب کے وقت تک کی ہی مہلت دے کہ ہم تیری تبلیغ مان لیں اور تیرے پیغمبروں کی تابعداری میں لگ جائیں کیا تم اس سے پہلے بھی قسمیں نہیں کھا رہے تھے؟ کہ تمہارے لئے دنیا سے ٹلنا ہی نہیں

And, [O Muhammad], warn the people of a Day when the punishment will come to them and those who did wrong will say, "Our Lord, delay us for a short term; we will answer Your call and follow the messengers." [But it will be said], "Had you not sworn, before, that for you there would be no cessation?

وہ بولے کیا ہم نے تجھے دنیا بھر ( کی ٹھیکیداری ) سے منع نہیں کر رکھا؟

They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?"

کیا انہوں نے اللہ کی مخلوق میں سے کسی کو بھی نہیں دیکھا؟ کہ اس کے سائے دائیں بائیں جھک جھک کر اللہ تعالٰی کے سامنے سر بسجود ہوتے اور عاجزی کا اظہار کرتے ہیں ۔

Have they not considered what things Allah has created? Their shadows incline to the right and to the left, prostrating to Allah , while they are humble.

کیا انہوں نے اس بات پر نظر نہیں کی کہ جس اللہ نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کیا وہ ان جیسوں کی پیدائش پر پورا قادر ہے اسی نے ان کے لئے ایک ایسا وقت مقرر کر رکھا ہے جو شک و شبہ سے یکسر خالی ہے ، لیکن ظالم لوگ انکار کئے بغیر رہتے ہی نہیں ۔

Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.

انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ نبی ہمارے پاس اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں لایا؟ کیا ان کے پاس اگلی کتابوں کی واضح دلیل نہیں پہنچی؟

And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures?

کیا کافر لوگوں نے یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ آسمان و زمین باہم ملے جلے تھے پھر ہم نے انہیں جدا کیا اور ہر زندہ چیز کو ہم نے پانی سے پیدا کیا ، کیا یہ لوگ پھر بھی ایمان نہیں لاتے؟

Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?

کیا انہوں نے زمین پر نظریں نہیں ڈالیں؟ کہ ہم نے اس میں ہر طرح کے نفیس جوڑے کس قدر اگائے ہیں؟

Did they not look at the earth - how much We have produced therein from every noble kind?

کیا انہیں یہ نشانی کافی نہیں کہ حقانیت قرآن تو بنی اسرائیل کے علماء بھی جانتے ہیں ۔

And has it not been a sign to them that it is recognized by the scholars of the Children of Israel?

پھر جب ان کے پاس ہماری طرف سے حق آپہنچا تو کہتے ہیں کہ یہ وہ کیوں نہیں دیا گیا جیسے دیئے گئے تھے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) اچھا تو کیا موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو جو کچھ دیا گیا تھا اس کے ساتھ لوگوں نے کفر نہیں کیا تھا صاف کہا تھا کہ یہ دونوں جادوگر ہیں جو ایک دوسرے کے مددگار ہیں اور ہم تو ان سب کے منکر ہیں ۔

But when the truth came to them from Us, they said, "Why was he not given like that which was given to Moses?" Did they not disbelieve in that which was given to Moses before? They said, "[They are but] two works of magic supporting each other, and indeed we are, in both, disbelievers."

کہنے لگے اگر ہم آپ کے ساتھ ہو کر ہدایت کے تابعدار بن جائیں تو ہم تو اپنے ملک سے اچک لئے جائیں کیا ہم نے انہیں امن و امان اور حرمت والے حرم میں جگہ نہیں دی؟ جہاں تمام چیزوں کے پھل کھچےچلے آتے ہیں جو ہمارے پاس بطور رزق کے ہیں لیکن ان میں سے اکثر کچھ نہیں جانتے ۔

And they say, "If we were to follow the guidance with you, we would be swept from our land." Have we not established for them a safe sanctuary to which are brought the fruits of all things as provision from Us? But most of them do not know.

قارون نے کہا یہ سب کچھ مجھے میری اپنی سمجھ کی بنا پر ہی دیا گیا ہے کیا اسے اب تک یہ نہیں معلوم کہ اللہ تعالٰی نے اس سے پہلے بہت سے بستی والوں کو غارت کر دیا جو اس سے بہت زیادہ قوت والے اور بہت بڑی جمع پونجی والے تھے اور گنہگاروں سے ان کے گناہوں کی باز پرس ایسے وقت نہیں کی جاتی ۔

He said, "I was only given it because of knowledge I have." Did he not know that Allah had destroyed before him of generations those who were greater than him in power and greater in accumulation [of wealth]? But the criminals, about their sins, will not be asked.

کیا انہوں نے نہیں دیکھا کہ مخلوق کی ابتدا کس طرح اللہ نے کی پھر اللہ اس کا اعادہ کرے گا یہ تو اللہ تعالٰی پر بہت ہی آسان ہے ۔

Have they not considered how Allah begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah , is easy.

کیا انہیں یہ کافی نہیں؟ کہ ہم نے آپ پر کتاب نازل فرمادی جو ان پر پڑھی جا رہی ہے ، اس میں رحمت ( بھی ) ہے اور نصیحت ( بھی ) ہے ان لوگوں کے لئے جو ایمان لاتے ہیں ۔

And is it not sufficient for them that We revealed to you the Book which is recited to them? Indeed in that is a mercy and reminder for a people who believe.

کیا یہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم نے حرم کو با امن بنا دیا ہے حالانکہ ان کے ارد گرد سے لوگ اچک لئے جاتے ہیں کیا یہ باطل پر تو یقین رکھتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالٰی کی نعمتوں پر ناشکری کرتے ہیں ۔

Have they not seen that We made [Makkah] a safe sanctuary, while people are being taken away all around them? Then in falsehood do they believe, and in the favor of Allah they disbelieve?

کیا ان لوگوں نے اپنے دل میں یہ غور نہیں کیا؟ کہ اللہ تعالٰی نے آسمانوں کو اور زمین اور ان کے درمیان جو کچھ ہے سب کو بہترین قرینے سے مقرر وقت تک کے لئے ( ہی ) پیدا کیا ہے ، ہاں اکثر لوگ یقیناً اپنے رب کی ملاقات کے منکر ہیں ۔

Do they not contemplate within themselves? Allah has not created the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth and for a specified term. And indeed, many of the people, in [the matter of] the meeting with their Lord, are disbelievers.

کیا انہوں نے زمین میں چل پھر کر یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ ان سے پہلے لوگوں کا انجام کیسا ( برا ) ہو ؟ وہ ان سے بہت زیادہ توانا اور ( طاقتور ) تھے اور انہوں نے ( بھی ) زمین بوئی جوتی تھی اور ان سے زیادہ آباد کی تھی اور ان کے پاس ان کے رسول روشن دلائل لے کر آئے تھے یہ تو ناممکن تھا کہ اللہ تعالٰی ان پر ظلم کرتا لیکن ( دراصل ) وہ خود اپنی جانوں پر ظلم کرتے تھے ۔

Have they not traveled through the earth and observed how was the end of those before them? They were greater than them in power, and they plowed the earth and built it up more than they have built it up, and their messengers came to them with clear evidences. And Allah would not ever have wronged them, but they were wronging themselves.

کیا انہوں نے یہ نہیں دیکھا کہ اللہ تعالٰی جسے چاہے کشادہ روزی دیتا ہے اور جسے چاہے تنگ ، اس میں بھی ان لوگوں کے لئے جو ایمان لاتے ہیں نشانیاں ہیں ۔

Do they not see that Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed, in that are signs for a people who believe.

کیا اس بات نے بھی انہیں ہدایت نہیں دی کہ ہم نے ان سے پہلے بہت سی امتوں کو ہلاک کر دیا جن کےمکانوں میں یہ چل پھر رہے ہیں اس میں تو ( بڑی ) بڑی نشانیاں ہیں ، کیا پھر بھی یہ نہیں سنتے؟

Has it not become clear to them how many generations We destroyed before them, [as] they walk among their dwellings? Indeed in that are signs; then do they not hear?

کیا یہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ ہم پانی کو بنجر غیر آباد زمین کی طرف بہا کر لے جاتے ہیں پھر اس سے ہم کھیتیاں نکالتے ہیں جسے ان کے چوپائے اور یہ خود کھاتے ہیں کیا پھر بھی یہ نہیں دیکھتے ؟

Have they not seen that We drive the water [in clouds] to barren land and bring forth thereby crops from which their livestock eat and [they] themselves? Then do they not see?

اور وہ لوگ اس میں چلائیں گے کہ اے ہمارے پروردگار! ہم کو نکال لے ہم اچھے کام کریں گے برخلاف ان کاموں کے جو کیا کرتے تھے ( اللہ کہے گا ) کیا ہم نے تم کو اتنی عمر نہ دی تھی جس کو سمجھنا ہوتا وہ سمجھ سکتا اور تمہارے پاس ڈرانے والا بھی پہنچا تھا سو مزہ چکھو کہ ( ایسے ) ظالموں کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ۔

And they will cry out therein, "Our Lord, remove us; we will do righteousness - other than what we were doing!" But did We not grant you life enough for whoever would remember therein to remember, and the warner had come to you? So taste [the punishment], for there is not for the wrongdoers any helper.

اور کیا یہ لوگ زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں جس میں دیکھتے بھالتے کہ جو لوگ ان سے پہلے ہو گزرے ہیں ان کا انجام کیا ہوا؟ حالانکہ وہ قوت میں ان سے بڑھے ہوئے تھے ، اور اللہ ایسا نہیں ہے کہ کوئی چیز اس کو ہرا دے نہ آسمانوں میں اور نہ زمین میں ۔ وہ بڑے علم والا ، بڑی قدرت والا ہے ۔

Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those before them? And they were greater than them in power. But Allah is not to be caused failure by anything in the heavens or on the earth. Indeed, He is ever Knowing and Competent.

کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کے ہم نے اپنے ہاتھوں بنائی ہوئی چیزوں میں سے ان کے لئے چوپائے ( بھی ) پیدا کردئے جن کے یہ مالک ہوگئے ہیں ۔

Do they not see that We have created for them from what Our hands have made, grazing livestock, and [then] they are their owners?

کیا انسان کو اتنا بھی معلوم نہیں کہ ہم نے اسے نطفے سے پیدا کیا ہے؟ پھر یکایک وہ صریح جھگڑالو بن بیٹھا ۔

Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop - then at once he is a clear adversary?

کیا انہیں یہ معلوم نہیں کہ اللہ تعالٰی جس کے لئے چاہے روزی کشادہ کر دیتا ہے اور تنگ ( بھی ) ایمان لانے والوں کے لیئے اس میں ( بڑی بڑی ) نشانیاں ہیں ۔

Do they not know that Allah extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]? Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.

کیا یہ لوگ زمین میں چلے پھرے نہیں کہ دیکھتے کہ جو لوگ ان سے پہلے تھے ان کا نتیجہ کیسا کچھ ہوا؟ وہ با عتبار قوت و طاقت کے اور باعتبار زمین میں اپنی یادگاروں کے ان سے بہت زیادہ تھے ، پس اللہ نے انہیں ان گناہوں پر پکڑ لیا اور کوئی نہ ہوا جو انہیں اللہ کے عذاب سے بچا لیتا ۔

Have they not traveled through the land and observed how was the end of those who were before them? They were greater than them in strength and in impression on the land, but Allah seized them for their sins. And they had not from Allah any protector.

وہ جواب دیں گے کہ کیا تمہارے پاس تمہارے رسول معجزے لے کر نہیں آئے تھے؟ وہ کہیں گے کیوں نہیں ، وہ کہیں گے کہ پھر تم ہی دعا کرو اور کافروں کی دعا محض بے اثر اور بے راہ ہے ۔

They will say, "Did there not come to you your messengers with clear proofs?" They will say, "Yes." They will reply, "Then supplicate [yourselves], but the supplication of the disbelievers is not except in error."

اب قوم عاد نے تو بے وجہ زمین میں سرکشی شروع کردی اور کہنے لگے کہ ہم سے زور آور کون ہے؟ کیا انہیں یہ نظر نہ آیا کہ جس نے انہیں پیدا کیا ہے وہ ان سے ( بہت ہی ) زیادہ زور آور ہے وہ ( آخر تک ) ہماری آیتوں کا انکار ہی کرتے رہے ۔

As for 'Aad, they were arrogant upon the earth without right and said, "Who is greater than us in strength?" Did they not consider that Allah who created them was greater than them in strength? But they were rejecting Our signs.

عنقریب ہم انہیں اپنی نشانیاں آفاق عالم میں بھی دکھائیں گے اور خود ان کی اپنی ذات میں بھی یہاں تک کہ ان پر کھل جائے کہ حق یہی ہے کیا آپ کے رب کا ہرچیز سے واقف و آگاہ ہونا کافی نہیں ۔

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness?

کیا وہ نہیں دیکھتے کہ جس اللہ نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا اور ان کے پیدا کرنے سے وہ نہ تھکا مردوں کو زندہ کرنے پر قادر ہے ؟ کیوں نہ ہو ؟ وہ یقیناً ہرچیز پر قادر ہے ۔

Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth and did not fail in their creation, is able to give life to the dead? Yes. Indeed, He is over all things competent.

کیا یہ اپنےاوپر پر کھولے ہوئے اور ( کبھی کبھی ) سمیٹے ہوئے ( اڑنے والے ) پرندوں کو نہیں دیکھتے ، انہیں ( اللہ ) رحمن ہی ( ہوا و فضا میں ) تھامے ہوئے ہے بیشک ہرچیز اس کی نگاہ میں ہے ۔

Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing.
