In the name of Allah , the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Shuroo Allah kay naam say jo bara meharban nehayat reham kerney wala hai
अल्लाह के नाम से जो बड़ा कृपालु और अत्यन्त दयावान है।
By the clear Book,
Qasam hai iss wazahat wali kitab ki.
गवाह है स्पष्ट किताब
Indeed, We sent it down during a blessed night. Indeed, We were to warn [mankind].
Yaqeenan hum ney issay ba-barkat raat mein utara hai be-shak hum daraney walay hain.
निस्संदेह हम ने उसे एक बरकत भरी रात में अवतरित किया है। - निश्चय ही हम सावधान करने वाले हैं।-
On that night is made distinct every precise matter -
Issi raat mein her aik mazboot kaam ka faisla kiya jata hai.
उस (रात) में तमाम तत्वदर्शिता युक्त मामलों का फ़ैसला किया जाता है,
[Every] matter [proceeding] from Us. Indeed, We were to send [a messenger]
Humaray pass say hukum hoker hum hi hain rasool bana ker bhejney walay.
हमारे यहाँ से आदेश के रूप में। निस्संदेह रसूलों को भेजने वाले हम ही हैं। -
As mercy from your Lord. Indeed, He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
Aap kay rab ki meharbani say. Wohi hai sunnay wala jannay wala.
तुम्हारे रब की दयालुता के कारण। निस्संदेह वही सब कुछ सुनने वाला, जानने वाला है
Lord of the heavens and the earth and that between them, if you would be certain.
Jo rab hai aasmano ka aur zamin ka aur jo kuch inn kay darmiyan hai agar tum yaqeen kerney walay ho.
आकाशों और धरती का रब और जो कुछ उन दोनों के बीच है उस का भी, यदि तुम विश्वास रखने वाले हो (तो विश्वास करो कि किताब का अवतरण अल्लाह की दयालुता है)
There is no deity except Him; He gives life and causes death. [He is] your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers.
Koi mabood nahi iss kay siwa wohi jilata hai aur maarta hai wohi tumhara rab hai aur tumharay aglay baap dadon ka.
उस के अतिरिक्त कोई पूज्य-प्रभु नहीं; वही जीवित करता और मारता है; तुम्हारा रब और तुम्हारे अगले बाप-दादों का रब है
But they are in doubt, amusing themselves.
Bulkay woh shak mein paray khel rahen hain.
बल्कि वे संदेह में पड़े रहे हैं
Then watch for the Day when the sky will bring a visible smoke.
Aap uss din kay muntazir rahen jabkay aasman zahir dhuwan laye ga.
अच्छा तो तुम उस दिन की प्रतीक्षा करो, जब आकाश प्रत्यक्ष धुँआ लाएगा।
Covering the people; this is a painful torment.
Jo logon ko gher ley ga yeh dard-naak azab hai.
वह लोगों को ढाँक लेगा। यह है दुखद यातना!
[They will say], "Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed, we are believers."
Kahen gay kay aey humaray rab! Yeh aafat hum say door ker dey hum eman qabool kertay hain.
वे कहेंगे, "ऐ हमारे रब! हम पर से यातना हटा दे। हम ईमान लाते हैं।"
How will there be for them a reminder [at that time]? And there had come to them a clear Messenger.
Inn kay liye naseehat kahan hai? Khol khol ker biyan kerney walay payghumber unn kay pass aa chukay.
अब उन के होश में आने का मौक़ा कहाँ बाक़ी रहा। उन का हाल तो यह है कि उन के पास साफ़-साफ़ बताने वाला एक रसूल आ चुका है।
Then they turned away from him and said, "[He was] taught [and is] a madman."
Phir bhi inhon ney unn say mun phera aur keh diya kay sikhaya parhaya hua baaoola hai.
फिर उन्होंने उस की ओर से मुँह मोड़ लिया और कहने लगे, "यह तो एक सिखाया-पढ़ाया दीवाना है।"
Indeed, We will remove the torment for a little. Indeed, you [disbelievers] will return [to disbelief].
Hum azab ko thora door ker den gay to phir tum apni ussi halat per aajao gay.
"हम यातना थोड़ा हटा देते हैं तो तुम पुनः फिर जाते हो।
The Day We will strike with the greatest assault, indeed, We will take retribution.
Jiss din hum bari sakht pakar pakaren gay bilyaqeen hum badla lenay walay hain.
याद रखो, जिस दिन हम बड़ी पकड़ पकड़ेंगे, तो निश्चय ही हम बदला लेकर रहेंगे
And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger,
Yaqeenan inn say pehlay hum qom-e-firaon ko ( bhi ) aazma chukay hain jinn kay pass ( Allah ka ) ba-izzat rasool aaya.
उन से पहले हम फ़िरऔन की क़ौम के लोगों को परीक्षा में डाल चुके हैं, जबकि उन के पास एक अत्यन्त सज्जन रसूल आया
[Saying], "Render to me the servants of Allah . Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger,"
Kay Allah Taalaa kay bando ko meray hawalay kerdo yaqeen mano kay mein tumharay liye amanat daar rasool hun.
कि "तुम अल्लाह के बन्दों को मेरे हवाले कर दो। निश्चय ही मै तुम्हारे लिए एक विश्वसनीय रसूल हूँ
And [saying], "Be not haughty with Allah . Indeed, I have come to you with clear authority.
Aur tum Allah Taalaa kay samney sirkashi na kero mein tumharay pass khulli daleel laney wala hun.
और अल्लाह के मुक़ाबले में सरकशी न करो, मैं तुम्हारे लिए एक स्पष्ट प्रमाण लेकर आया हूँ
And indeed, I have sought refuge in my Lord and your Lord, lest you stone me.
Aur mein apnay aur tumharay rab ki panah mein aata hun iss say kay tum mujhay sangsaar kerdo.
और मैं इस से अपने रब और तुम्हारे रब की शरण ले चुका हूँ कि तुम मुझ पर पथराव करके मार डालो
But if you do not believe me, then leave me alone."
Aur agar tum mujh per eman nahi latey to mujh say alag hi raho.
किन्तु यदि तुम मेरी बात नहीं मानते तो मुझ से अलग हो जाओ!"
And [finally] he called to his Lord that these were a criminal people.
Phir unhon ney apnay rab say dua ki kay yeh sabb gunehgar log hain.
अन्ततः उस ने अपने रब को पुकारा कि "ये अपराधी लोग हैं।"
[ Allah said], "Then set out with My servants by night. Indeed, you are to be pursued.
( hum ney keh diya ) kay raton raat tu meray bando ko ley ker nikal yaqeenan tumhara peecha kiya jayega.
"अच्छा तुम रातों रात मेरे बन्दों को लेकर चले जाओ। निश्चय ही तुम्हारा पीछा किया जाएगा
And leave the sea in stillness. Indeed, they are an army to be drowned."
Tu darya ko saakin chor ker chala jaa bilashuba yeh lashkar gharq kerdiya jayega.
और सागर को स्थिर छोड़ दो। वे तो एक सेना दल हैं, डूब जाने वाले।"
How much they left behind of gardens and springs
Woh boht say baghaat aur chashmey chor gaye.
वे छोड़ गये कितनॆ ही बाग़ और स्रोत
And crops and noble sites
Aur khetiyan aur rahat buksh thikaney.
और ख़ेतियां और उत्तम आवास-
And comfort wherein they were amused.
Aur woh aaram ki cheezen jinn mein aish ker rahey thay.
और सुख सामग्री जिनमें वे मज़े कर रहे थे।
Thus. And We caused to inherit it another people.
Uss i tarah hogaya aur hum ney inn sabb ka waris doosri qom ko bana diya.
हम ऐसा ही मामला करते हैं, और उन चीज़ों का वारिस हम ने दूसरे लोगों को बनाया
And the heaven and earth wept not for them, nor were they reprieved.
So unn per na na to aasman-o-zamin roye aur na unhen mohlat mili.
फिर न तो आकाश और धरती ने उन पर विलाप किया और न उन्हें मुहलत ही मिली
And We certainly saved the Children of Israel from the humiliating torment -
Aur be-shak hum ney ( hi ) bani isareel ko ( sakht ) ruswakun saza say nijat di.
इस प्रकार हम ने इसराईल की सन्तान को अपमानजनक यातना से
From Pharaoh. Indeed, he was a haughty one among the transgressors.
( Jo ) firaon ki taraf say ( horahi ) thi.fil-waqey woh sirkash aur hadd say guzarney walon mein say tha.
अर्थात फ़िरऔन से छुटकारा दिया। निश्चय ही वह मर्यादाहीन लोगों में से बड़ा ही सरकश था
And We certainly chose them by knowledge over [all] the worlds.
Aur hum ney danista tor per bani israeel ko duniya jahan walon per fokiyat di.
और हम ने (उन की स्थिति को) जानते हुए उन्हें सारे संसार वालों के मुक़ाबले में चुन लिया
And We gave them of signs that in which there was a clear trial.
Aur hum ney unhen aisi nishaniyan din jinn mein sareeh aazmaeesh thi.
और हम ने उन्हें निशानियों के द्वारा वह चीज़ दी जिस में स्पष्ट परीक्षा थी
Indeed, these [disbelievers] are saying,
Yeh log to yehi kehtay hain.
ये लोग बड़ी दृढ़तापूर्वक कहते हैं,
"There is not but our first death, and we will not be resurrected.
Kay ( aakhri cheez ) yehi humara pehli baar ( duniya say ) mar jana hai aur hum doobara uthaye nahi jayen gay.
"बस यह हमारी पहली मृत्यु ही है, हम दोबारा उठाए जाने वाले नहीं हैं
Then bring [back] our forefathers, if you should be truthful."
Agar tum sachay ho to humaray baap dadon ko ley aao.
तो ले आओ हमारे बाप-दादा को, यदि तुम सच्चे हो!"
Are they better or the people of Tubba' and those before them? We destroyed them, [for] indeed, they were criminals.
Kiya yeh log behtar hain ya tubba’a ki qom kay log aur jo unn say bhi pehlay thay. Hum ney unn sabb ko halak ker diya yaqeenan woh gunehgar thay.
क्या वे अच्छे हैं या तुब्बा की क़ौम या वे लोग जो उन से पहले गुज़र चुके हैं? हम ने उन्हें विनष्ट कर दिया, निश्चय ही वे अपराधी थे
And We did not create the heavens and earth and that between them in play.
Hum ney zamin aur aasmano aur inn kay darmiyan ki cheezon ko khel kay tor per peda nahi kiya.
हम ने आकाशों और धरती को और जो कुछ उन के बीच है उन्हें खेल नहीं बनाया
We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know.
Bulkay hum ney unhen durust tadbeer kay sath peda kiya hai lekin inn mein aksar log nahi jantay.
हम ने उन्हें हक़ के साथ पैदा किया, किन्तु उन में से अधिकतर लोग जानते नहीं
Indeed, the Day of Judgement is the appointed time for them all -
Yaqeenan faislay ka din inn sabb ka tey shuda waqt hai.
निश्चय ही फ़ैसले का दिन उन सबका नियत समय है,
The Day when no relation will avail a relation at all, nor will they be helped -
Uss din koi dost kissi dost kay kuch bhi kaam na aayega aur na unki imdad ki jayegi.
जिस दिन कोई अपना किसी अपने के कुछ काम न आएगा और न कोई सहायता पहुँचेगी,
Except those [believers] on whom Allah has mercy. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Merciful.
Magar jiss per Allah ki meharbani hojaye woh zabardast aur reham kerney wala hai.
सिवाय उस व्यक्ति के जिस पर अल्लाह दया करे। निश्चय ही वह प्रभुत्वशाली, अत्यन्त दयावान है
Indeed, the tree of zaqqum
Be-shak zaqoom ( thoher ) ka darakht.
निस्संदेह ज़क़्क़ूम का वृक्ष
Is food for the sinful.
Gunehgar ka khana hai.
गुनहगार का भोजन होगा,
Like murky oil, it boils within bellies
Jo misil talchat kay hai aur pet mein kholta rehta hai.
तेल की तलछट जैसा, वह पेटों में खौलता होगा,
Like the boiling of scalding water.
Misil tez garum pani kay.
जैसे गर्म पानी खौलता हैं
[It will be commanded], "Seize him and drag him into the midst of the Hellfire,
Issay pakar lo phir ghaseettay huyey beech jahannum tak phonchao.
"पकड़ो उसे, और भड़कती हुई आग के बीच तक घसीट ले जाओ,
Then pour over his head from the torment of scalding water."
Phir iss kay sir per sakht garum pani ka azab bahao.
फिर उस के सिर पर खौलते हुए पानी का यातना उंडेल दो!"
[It will be said], "Taste! Indeed, you are the honored, the noble!
( iss say kaha jayega ) chakhta jaa tu to bara zee-izzat aur baray ikraam wala tha.
"मज़ा चख, तू तो बड़ा बलशाली, सज्जन और आदरणीय है!
