الفاظ ( الْقَوْمِ )

جب ان کا جالوت اور اس کے لشکر سے مقابلہ ہوا تو انہوں نے دعا مانگی کہ اے پروردگار ہمیں صبر دے ثابت قدمی دے اور قوم کفار پر ہماری مدد فرما ۔

And when they went forth to [face] Goliath and his soldiers, they said, "Our Lord, pour upon us patience and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

اللہ تعالٰی کسی جان کو اس کی طاقت سے زیادہ تکلیف نہیں دیتا ، جو نیکی وہ کرے وہ اس کے لئے اور جو برائی وہ کرے وہ اس پر ہے ، اے ہمارے رب اگر ہم بھول گئے ہوں یا خطا کی ہو تو ہمیں نہ پکڑنا اے ہمارے رب ہم پر وہ بوجھ نہ ڈال جو ہم سے پہلے لوگوں پر ڈالا تھا اے ہمارے رب ہم پر وہ بوجھ نہ ڈال جس کی ہمیں طاقت نہ ہو اور ہم سے درگزر فرما اور ہمیں بخش دے اور ہم پر رحم کر تو ہی ہمارا مالک ہے ، ہمیں کافروں کی قوم پر غلبہ عطا فرما ۔

Allah does not charge a soul except [with that within] its capacity. It will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. "Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people."

وہ یہی کہتے رہے کہ اے پروردگار! ہمارے گناہوں کو بخش دے اور ہم سے ہمارے کاموں میں جو بے جا زیادتی ہوئی ہے اسے بھی معاف فرما اور ہمیں ثابت قدمی عطا فرما اور ہمیں کافروں کی قوم پر مدد دے ۔

And their words were not but that they said, "Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people."

تم جہاں کہیں بھی ہو موت تمہیں آ پکڑے گی ، گو تم مضبوط قلعوں میں ہو اور اگر انہیں کوئی بھلائی ملتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ یہ اللہ تعالٰی کی طرف سے ہے اور اگر کوئی برائی پہنچتی ہے تو کہہ اٹھتے ہیں کہ یہ تیری طرف سے ہے انہیں کہہ دو کہ یہ سب کچھ اللہ تعالٰی کی طرف سے ہے انہیں کیا ہوگیا ہے کہ کوئی بات سمجھنے کے بھی قریب نہیں ۔

Wherever you may be, death will overtake you, even if you should be within towers of lofty construction. But if good comes to them, they say, "This is from Allah "; and if evil befalls them, they say, "This is from you." Say, "All [things] are from Allah ." So what is [the matter] with those people that they can hardly understand any statement?

ان لوگوں کا پیچھا کرنے سے ہارے دل ہو کر بیٹھ نہ رہو !اگر تمہیں بے آرامی ہوتی ہے تو انہیں بھی تمہاری طرح بے آرامی ہوتی ہے اور تم اللہ تعالٰی سے وہ امید یں رکھتے ہو ، جو امید انہیں نہیں ، اور اللہ تعالٰی دانا اور حکیم ہے ۔

And do not weaken in pursuit of the enemy. If you should be suffering - so are they suffering as you are suffering, but you expect from Allah that which they expect not. And Allah is ever Knowing and Wise.

موسٰی ( علیہ السلام ) کہنے لگے الٰہی مجھے تو بجز اپنے اور میرے بھائی کے کسی اور پر کوئی اختیار نہیں ، پس تو ہم میں اور ان نافرمانوں میں جدائی کر دے

[Moses] said, "My Lord, indeed I do not possess except myself and my brother, so part us from the defiantly disobedient people."

ارشاد ہوا کہ اب زمین ان پر چالیس سال تک حرام کر دی گئی ہے ، یہ خانہ بدوش ادھر ادھر سرگرداں پھرتے رہیں گے اس لئے تم ان فاسقوں کے بارے میں غمگین نہ ہونا ۔

[ Allah ] said, "Then indeed, it is forbidden to them for forty years [in which] they will wander throughout the land. So do not grieve over the defiantly disobedient people."

آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ اے اہل کتاب! تم دراصل کسی چیز پر نہیں جب تک کہ تورات و انجیل کو اور جو کچھ تمہاری طرف تمہارے رب کی طرف سے اتارا گیا ہے قائم نہ کرو ، جو کچھ آپ کی جانب آپ کے رب کی طرف سے اترا ہے وہ ان میں سے بہتوں کو شرارت اور انکار میں اور بھی بڑھائے گا ہی تو آپ ان کافروں پر غمگین نہ ہوں ۔

Say, "O People of the Scripture, you are [standing] on nothing until you uphold [the law of] the Torah, the Gospel, and what has been revealed to you from your Lord." And that which has been revealed to you from your Lord will surely increase many of them in transgression and disbelief. So do not grieve over the disbelieving people.

اور ہمارے پاس کون سا عذر ہے کہ ہم اللہ تعالٰی پر اور جو حق ہم کو پہنچا ہے اس پر ایمان نہ لائیں اور ہم اس بات کی امید رکھتے ہیں کہ ہمارا رب ہم کو نیک لوگوں کی رفاقت میں داخل کر دے گا

And why should we not believe in Allah and what has come to us of the truth? And we aspire that our Lord will admit us [to Paradise] with the righteous people."

پھر ظالم لوگوں کی جڑ کٹ گئی اور اللہ تعالٰی کا شکر ہے جو تمام عالم کا پروردگار ہے ۔

So the people that committed wrong were eliminated. And praise to Allah , Lord of the worlds.

اور جب آپ ان لوگوں کو دیکھیں جو ہماری آیات میں عیب جوئی کر رہے ہیں تو ان لوگوں سے کنارہ کش ہوجائیں یہاں تک کہ وہ کسی اور بات میں لگ جائیں اور اگر آپ کو شیطان بھلا دے تو یاد آنے کے بعد پھر ایسے ظالم لوگوں کے ساتھ مت بیٹھیں ۔

And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the reminder with the wrongdoing people.

پھر جب چاند کو دیکھا چمکتا ہوا تو فرمایا کہ یہ میرا رب ہے لیکن جب وہ غروب ہوگیا تو آپ نے فرمایا کہ اگر مجھ کو میرے رب نے ہدایت نہ کی تو میں گمراہ لوگوں میں شامل ہو جاؤں گا ۔

And when he saw the moon rising, he said, "This is my lord." But when it set, he said, "Unless my Lord guides me, I will surely be among the people gone astray."

پھر اگر یہ آپ کو کاذب کہیں تو آپ فرما دیجئے کہ تمہارا رب بڑی وسیع رحمت والا ہے اور اس کا عذاب مجرم لوگوں سے نہ ٹلے گا ۔

So if they deny you, [O Muhammad], say, "Your Lord is the possessor of vast mercy; but His punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals."

اور جب ان کی نگاہیں اہل دوزخ کی طرف پھریں گی تو کہیں گے اے ہمارے رب! ہم کو ان ظالم لوگوں کے ساتھ شامل نہ کر ۔

And when their eyes are turned toward the companions of the Fire, they say, "Our Lord, do not place us with the wrongdoing people."

اور جب موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) اپنی قوم کی طرف واپس آئے غصہ اور رنج میں بھرے ہوئے تو فرمایا کہ تم نے میرے بعد یہ بڑی بری جانشینی کی؟ کیا اپنے رب کے حکم سے پہلے ہی تم نے جلد بازی کر لی اور جلدی سے تختیاں ایک طرف رکھیں اور اپنے بھائی کا سر پکڑ کر ان کو اپنی طرف گھسیٹنے لگے ۔ ہارون ( علیہ السلام ) نے کہا کہ اے میرے ماں جائے !ان لوگوں نے مجھ کو بے حقیقت سمجھا اور قریب تھا کہ مجھ کو قتل کر ڈالیں تو تم مجھ پر دشمنوں کو مت ہنساؤ اور مجھ کو ان ظالموں کے ذیل میں مت شمار کرو ۔

And when Moses returned to his people, angry and grieved, he said, "How wretched is that by which you have replaced me after [my departure]. Were you impatient over the matter of your Lord?" And he threw down the tablets and seized his brother by [the hair of] his head, pulling him toward him. [Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, indeed the people oppressed me and were about to kill me, so let not the enemies rejoice over me and do not place me among the wrongdoing people."

اگر ہم چاہتے تو اس کو ان آیتوں کی بدولت بلند مرتبہ کر دیتے لیکن وہ تو دنیا کی طرف مائل ہوگیا اور اپنی نفسانی خواہش کی پیروی کرنے لگا سو اس کی حالت کتے کی سی ہوگئی کہ اگر تو اس پر حملہ کرے تب بھی وہ ہانپے یا اسکو چھوڑ دے تب بھی ہانپے یہی حالت ان لوگوں کی ہے جنہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا ۔ سو آپ اس حال کو بیان کر دیجئے شاید وہ لوگ کچھ سوچیں ۔

And if We had willed, we could have elevated him thereby, but he adhered [instead] to the earth and followed his own desire. So his example is like that of the dog: if you chase him, he pants, or if you leave him, he [still] pants. That is the example of the people who denied Our signs. So relate the stories that perhaps they will give thought.

یہ اس لئے قسمیں کھائیں گے کہ تم ان سے راضی ہو جاؤ ۔ سو اگر تم ان سے راضی بھی ہو جاؤ تو اللہ تعا لٰی تو ایسے فاسق لوگوں سے راضی نہیں ہوتا ۔

They swear to you so that you might be satisfied with them. But if you should be satisfied with them - indeed, Allah is not satisfied with a defiantly disobedient people.

اور ہم کو اپنی رحمت سے ان کافر لوگوں سے نجات دے ۔

And save us by Your mercy from the disbelieving people."

یہاں تک کہ جب رسول نا امید ہو نے لگے اور وہ ( قوم کے لوگ ) خیال کرنے لگے کہ انہیں جھوٹ کہا گیا ۔ فوراً ہی ہماری مدد ان کے پاس آپہنچی جسے ہم نے چاہا اسے نجات دی گئی ۔ بات یہ ہے کہ ہمارا عذاب گناہ گاروں سے واپس نہیں کیا جاتا ۔

[They continued] until, when the messengers despaired and were certain that they had been denied, there came to them Our victory, and whoever We willed was saved. And Our punishment cannot be repelled from the people who are criminals.

اس بری خبر کی وجہ سے لوگوں سے چھپا چھپا پھرتا ہے ۔ سوچتا ہے کہ کیا اس کو ذلت کے ساتھ لئے ہوئے ہی رہے یا اسے مٹی میں دبا دے ، آہ! کیا ہی برے فیصلے کرتے ہیں؟

He hides himself from the people because of the ill of which he has been informed. Should he keep it in humiliation or bury it in the ground? Unquestionably, evil is what they decide.

انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ ہم نے اپنے اختیار سے آپ کے ساتھ وعدے کا خلاف نہیں کیا بلکہ ہم پر زیورات قوم کے جو بوجھ لاد دیئے گئے تھے ، انہیں ہم نے ڈال دیا ، اور اسی طرح سامری نے بھی ڈال دیئے ۔

They said, "We did not break our promise to you by our will, but we were made to carry burdens from the ornaments of the people [of Pharaoh], so we threw them [into the fire], and thus did the Samiri throw."

اور جو لوگ ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلاتے رہے تھے ان کے مقابلے میں ہم نے اس کی مدد کی ، یقیناً وہ برے لوگ تھے پس ہم نے ان سب کو ڈبو دیا ۔

And We saved him from the people who denied Our signs. Indeed, they were a people of evil, so We drowned them, all together.

اور داؤد اور سلیمان ( علیہما السلام ) کو یاد کیجئے جبکہ وہ کھیت کے معاملہ میں فیصلہ کر رہے تھے کہ کچھ لوگوں کی بکریاں رات کو اس میں چر چگ گئی تھیں ، اور ان کے فیصلے میں ہم موجود تھے ۔

And [mention] David and Solomon, when they judged concerning the field - when the sheep of a people overran it [at night], and We were witness to their judgement.

جب تو اور تیرے ساتھی کشتی پر بااطمینان بیٹھ جاؤ تو کہنا کہ سب تعریف اللہ کے لئے ہی ہے جس نے ہمیں ظالم لوگوں سے نجات عطا فرمائی ۔

And when you have boarded the ship, you and those with you, then say, 'Praise to Allah who has saved us form the wrongdoing people.'

تو اے رب! تو مجھے ان ظالموں کے گروہ میں نہ کرنا ۔

My Lord, then do not place me among the wrongdoing people."

اور کہہ دیا کہ تم دونوں ان لوگوں کی طرف جاؤ جو ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلا رہے ہیں ۔ پھر ہم نے انہیں بالکل ہی پامال کر دیا ۔

And We said, "Go both of you to the people who have denied Our signs." Then We destroyed them with [complete] destruction.

پس موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) وہاں سے خوفزدہ ہو کر دیکھتے بھالتے نکل کھڑے ہوئے کہنے لگے اے پروردگار! مجھے ظالموں کے گروہ سے بچا لے ۔

So he left it, fearful and anticipating [apprehension]. He said, "My Lord, save me from the wrongdoing people."

اتنے میں ان دونوں عورتوں میں سے ایک ان کی طرف شرم و حیا سے چلتی ہوئی آئی کہنے لگی کہ میرے باپ آپ کو بلا رہے ہیں تاکہ آپ نے ہمارے ( جانوروں ) کو جو پانی پلایا ہے اس کی اجرت دیں جب حضرت موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) ان کے پاس پہنچے اور ان سے اپنا سارا حال بیان کیا تو وہ کہنے لگے اب نہ ڈر تو نے ظالم قوم سے نجات پائی ۔

Then one of the two women came to him walking with shyness. She said, "Indeed, my father invites you that he may reward you for having watered for us." So when he came to him and related to him the story, he said, "Fear not. You have escaped from the wrongdoing people."

حضرت لوط ( علیہ السلام ) نے دعا کی کہ پروردگار! اس مفسد قوم پر میری مدد فرما ۔

He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."

جن لوگوں کو تورات پر عمل کرنے کا حکم دیا گیا پھر انہوں نے اس پر عمل نہیں کیا ان کی مثال اس گدھے کی سی ہے جو بہت سی کتابیں لادے ہو اللہ کی باتوں کو جھٹلانے والوں کی بڑی بری مثال ہے اور اللہ ( ایسے ) ظالم قوم کو ہدایت نہیں دیتا ۔

The example of those who were entrusted with the Torah and then did not take it on is like that of a donkey who carries volumes [of books]. Wretched is the example of the people who deny the signs of Allah . And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

اور اللہ تعالٰی نے ایمان والوں کے لئے فرعون کی بیوی کی مثال بیان فرمائی جبکہ اس نے دعا کی اے میرے رب! میرے لئے اپنے پاس جنت میں مکان بنا اور مجھے فرعون سے اور اس کے عمل سے بچا اور مجھے ظالم لوگوں سے خلاصی دے ۔

And Allah presents an example of those who believed: the wife of Pharaoh, when she said, "My Lord, build for me near You a house in Paradise and save me from Pharaoh and his deeds and save me from the wrongdoing people."
