کفار کی مثال ان جانوروں کی طرح ہے جو اپنے چرواہے کی صرف پکار اور آواز ہی کو سُنتے ہیں ( سمجھتے نہیں ) وہ بہرے گونگے اور اندھے ہیں ، انہیں عقل نہیں ۔

The example of those who disbelieve is like that of one who shouts at what hears nothing but calls and cries cattle or sheep - deaf, dumb and blind, so they do not understand.

اے ایمان والو !جو پاکیزہ چیزیں ہم نے تمہیں دے رکھی ہیں انہیں کھاؤ ، پیو اور اللہ تعالٰی کا شکر کرو ، اگر تم خاص اسی کی عبادت کرتے ہو ۔

O you who have believed, eat from the good things which We have provided for you and be grateful to Allah if it is [indeed] Him that you worship.

ساری اچھائی مشرق اور مغرب کی طرف منہ کرنے میں ہی نہیں بلکہ حقیقتًا اچھا وہ شخص ہے جو اللہ تعالٰی پر قیامت کے دن پر فرشتوں پر کتاب اللہ اور نبیوں پر ایمان رکھنے والا ہو جو مال سے محبت کرنے کے باوجود قرابت داروں یتیموں مسکینوں مسافروں اور سوال کرنے والوں کو دے غلاموں کو آزاد کرے نماز کی پابندی اور زکٰوۃ کی ادائیگی کرے جب وعدہ کرے تب اسے پورا کرے تنگدستی دکھ درد اور لڑائی کے وقت صبر کرے یہی سچّے لوگ ہیں اور یہی پرہیزگار ہیں ۔

Righteousness is not that you turn your faces toward the east or the west, but [true] righteousness is [in] one who believes in Allah , the Last Day, the angels, the Book, and the prophets and gives wealth, in spite of love for it, to relatives, orphans, the needy, the traveler, those who ask [for help], and for freeing slaves; [and who] establishes prayer and gives zakah; [those who] fulfill their promise when they promise; and [those who] are patient in poverty and hardship and during battle. Those are the ones who have been true, and it is those who are the righteous.

تم پر فرض کر دیا گیا ہے کہ جب تم میں سے کوئی مرنے لگے اور مال چھوڑ جاتا ہو تو اپنے ماں باپ اور قرابت داروں کے لئے اچھائی کے ساتھ وصیت کر جائے پرہیزگاروں پر یہ حق اور ثابت ہے ۔

Prescribed for you when death approaches [any] one of you if he leaves wealth [is that he should make] a bequest for the parents and near relatives according to what is acceptable - a duty upon the righteous.

اے ایمان والو !تم پر روزے رکھنا فرض کیا گیا جس طرح تم سے پہلے لوگوں پر فرض کئے گئے تھے تاکہ تم تقویٰ اختیار کرو ۔

O you who have believed, decreed upon you is fasting as it was decreed upon those before you that you may become righteous -

گنتی کے چند ہی دن ہیں لیکن تم میں سے جو شخص بیمار ہو یا سفر میں ہو تو وہ اور دنوں میں گنتی کو پورا کر لے اور اس کی طاقت رکھنے والے فدیہ میں ایک مسکین کو کھانا دیں پھر جو شخص نیکی میں سبقت کرے وہ اسی کے لئے بہتر ہے لیکن تمہارے حق میں بہتر کام روزے رکھنا ہی ہے اگر تم باعلم ہو ۔

[Fasting for] a limited number of days. So whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then an equal number of days [are to be made up]. And upon those who are able [to fast, but with hardship] - a ransom [as substitute] of feeding a poor person [each day]. And whoever volunteers excess - it is better for him. But to fast is best for you, if you only knew.

ماہ رمضان وہ ہے جس میں قرآن اتارا گیا جو لوگوں کو ہدایت کرنے والا ہے اور جس میں ہدایت کی حق وباطل کی تمیز کی نشانیاں ہیں تم میں سے جو شخص اس مہینے کو پائے اُسے روزہ رکھنا چاہے ہاں جو بیمار ہو یا مسافر ہو اُسے دوسرے دنوں یہ گنتی پوری کرنی چاہیے اللہ تعالٰی کا ارادہ تمہارے ساتھ آسانی کا ہے سختی کا نہیں وہ چاہتا ہے تم گنتی پوری کرلو اور اللہ تعالٰی کی دی ہوئی ہدایت پر اس طرح کی بڑائیاں بیان کرو اور اس کا شکر ادا کرو ۔

The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

جب میرے بندے میرے بارے میں آپ سے سوال کریں تو آپ کہہ دیں کہ میں بہت ہی قریب ہوں ہر پکارنے والے کی پکار کو جب بھی وہ مجھے پکارے قبول کرتا ہوں اس لئے لوگوں کو بھی چاہیے وہ میری بات مان لیا کریں اور مجھ پر ایمان رکھیں یہی ان کی بھلائی کا باعث ہے ۔

And when My servants ask you, [O Muhammad], concerning Me - indeed I am near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

روزے کی راتوں میں اپنی بیویوں سے ملنا تمہارے لئے حلال کیا گیا ، وہ تمہارا لباس ہیں اور تم ان کے لباس ہو ، تمہاری پوشیدہ خیانتوں کا اللہ تعالٰی کو علم ہے اس نے تمہاری توبہ قبول فرما کر تم سے درگزر فرمالیا اب تمہیں ان سے مباشرت کی اور اللہ تعالٰی کی لکھی ہوئی چیز کو تلاش کرنے کی اجازت ہے ۔ تم کھاتے پیتے رہو یہاں تک کہ صبح کا سفید دھاگہ سیاہ دھاگے سے ظاہر ہو جائے پھر رات تک روزے کو پورا کرو اور عورتوں سے اس وقت مباشرت نہ کرو جب کہ تم مسجدوں میں اعتکاف میں ہو ، یہ اللہ تعالٰی کی حدود ہیں تم ان کے قریب بھی نہ جاؤ ۔ اسی طرح اللہ تعالٰی اپنی آیتیں لوگوں کے لئے بیان فرماتا ہے تاکہ وہ بچیں ۔

It has been made permissible for you the night preceding fasting to go to your wives [for sexual relations]. They are clothing for you and you are clothing for them. Allah knows that you used to deceive yourselves, so He accepted your repentance and forgave you. So now, have relations with them and seek that which Allah has decreed for you. And eat and drink until the white thread of dawn becomes distinct to you from the black thread [of night]. Then complete the fast until the sunset. And do not have relations with them as long as you are staying for worship in the mosques. These are the limits [set by] Allah , so do not approach them. Thus does Allah make clear His ordinances to the people that they may become righteous.

لوگ آپ سے چاند کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ یہ لوگوں ( کی عبادت ) کے وقتوں اور حج کے موسم کے لئے ہے ( احرام کی حالت میں ) اور گھروں کےپیچھے سے تمہارا آنا کچھ نیکی نہیں ، بلکہ نیکی والا وہ ہے جو متقی ہو اور گھروں میں تو دروازوں میں سے آیا کرو اور اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو تاکہ تم کامیاب ہو جاؤ ۔

They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the new moons. Say, "They are measurements of time for the people and for Hajj." And it is not righteousness to enter houses from the back, but righteousness is [in] one who fears Allah. And enter houses from their doors. And fear Allah that you may succeed.

لڑو اللہ کی راہ میں اُن سے جو تم سے لڑتے ہیں اور زیادتی نہ کرو ، اللہ تعالٰی زیادتی کرنے والوں کو پسند نہیں فرماتا ۔

Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed. Allah does not like transgressors.

انہیں مارو جہاں بھی پاؤ اور انہیں نکالو جہاں سے انہوں نے تمہیں نکالا ہے اور ( سنو ) فتنہ قتل سے زیادہ سخت ہے اور مسجد حرام کے پاس ان سے لڑائی نہ کرو جب تک کہ یہ خود تم سے نہ لڑیں ، اگر یہ تم سے لڑیں تو تم بھی انہیں مارو کا فروں کا بدلہ یہی ہے ۔

And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al- Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.

اگر یہ باز آجائیں تو اللہ تعالٰی بخشنے والا مہربان ہے ۔

And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

ان سے لڑو جب تک کہ فتنہ نہ مٹ جائے اور اللہ تعالٰی کا دین غالب نہ آجائے اگر یہ رک جائیں ( تو تم بھی رک جاؤ ) زیادتی تو صرف ظالموں پر ہی ہے ۔

Fight them until there is no [more] fitnah and [until] worship is [acknowledged to be] for Allah . But if they cease, then there is to be no aggression except against the oppressors.

حرمت والے مہینے حرمت والے مہینوں کے بدلے ہیں اور حرمتیں ادلے بدلے کی ہیں جو تم پر زیادتی کرے تم بھی اس پر اسی کے مثل زیادتی کرو جو تم پر کی ہے اور اللہ تعالٰی سے ڈرتے رہا کرو اور جان رکھو کہ اللہ تعالٰی پرہیزگاروں کے ساتھ ہے ۔

[Fighting in] the sacred month is for [aggression committed in] the sacred month, and for [all] violations is legal retribution. So whoever has assaulted you, then assault him in the same way that he has assaulted you. And fear Allah and know that Allah is with those who fear Him.

اللہ تعالٰی کی راہ میں خرچ کرو اور اپنے ہاتھوں ہلاکت میں نہ پڑو اور سلوک و احسان کرو اللہ تعالٰی احسان کرنے والوں کو دوست رکھتا ہے ۔

And spend in the way of Allah and do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction [by refraining]. And do good; indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

حج اور عُمرے کو اللہ تعالٰی کے لئے پورا کرو ، ہاں اگر تم روک لئے جاؤ تو جو قربانی میّسر ہو اسے کر ڈالو اور اپنے سر نہ منڈواؤ جب تک کہ قربانی قربان گاہ تک نہ پہنچ جائے البتہ تم میں سے جو بیمار ہو یا اس کے سر میں کوئی تکلیف ہو ( جس کی وجہ سے سر منڈا لے ) تو اس پر فدیہ ہے خواہ روزے رکھ لے خواہ صدقہ دے دے ، خواہ قربانی کرے پس جب تم امن کی حالت میں ہو جاؤ تو جو شخص عمرے سے لے کر حج تک تمتع کرے پس اسے جو قربانی میّسر ہو اسے کر ڈالے جسے طاقت ہی نہ ہو تو وہ تین روزے تو حج کے دنوں میں رکھ لے اور سات واپسی میں یہ پورے دس ہوگئے یہ حکم ان کے لئے ہے جو مسجد حرام کے رہنے والے نہ ہوں لوگو! اللہ سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان لو کہ اللہ تعالٰی سخت عذاب والا ہے ۔

And complete the Hajj and 'umrah for Allah . But if you are prevented, then [offer] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And do not shave your heads until the sacrificial animal has reached its place of slaughter. And whoever among you is ill or has an ailment of the head [making shaving necessary must offer] a ransom of fasting [three days] or charity or sacrifice. And when you are secure, then whoever performs 'umrah [during the Hajj months] followed by Hajj [offers] what can be obtained with ease of sacrificial animals. And whoever cannot find [or afford such an animal] - then a fast of three days during Hajj and of seven when you have returned [home]. Those are ten complete [days]. This is for those whose family is not in the area of al-Masjid al-Haram. And fear Allah and know that Allah is severe in penalty.

حج کے مہینے مقرر ہیں اس لئے جو شخص ان میں حج لازم کرلے وہ اپنی بیوی سے میل ملاپ کرنے ، گناہ کرنے اور لڑائی جھگڑے کرنے سے بچتا رہے تم جو نیکی کرو گے اس سے اللہ تعالٰی باخبر ہے اور اپنے ساتھ سفر خرچ لے لیا کرو ، سب سے بہتر توشہ اللہ تعالٰی کا ڈر ہے اور اے عقلمندو! مجھ سے ڈرتے رہا کرو ۔

Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do - Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah . And fear Me, O you of understanding.

تم پر اپنے رب کا فضل تلاش کرنے میں کوئی گناہ نہیں جب تم عرفات سے لوٹو تو مشعر حرام کے پاس ذکر الٰہی کرو اور اس کا ذکر کرو جیسے کہ اس نے تمہیں ہدایت دی حالانکہ تم اس سے پہلے راہ بھولے ہوئے تھے ۔

There is no blame upon you for seeking bounty from your Lord [during Hajj]. But when you depart from 'Arafat, remember Allah at al- Mash'ar al-Haram. And remember Him, as He has guided you, for indeed, you were before that among those astray.

پھر تم اس جگہ سے لوٹو جس جگہ سے سب لوگ لوٹتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالٰی سے بخشش طلب کرتے رہو یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی بخشنے والا مہربان ہے ۔

Then depart from the place from where [all] the people depart and ask forgiveness of Allah . Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

پھر جب تم ارکان حج ادا کر چکو تو اللہ تعالٰی کا ذکر کرو جس طرح تم اپنے باپ دادوں کا ذکر کیا کرتے تھے ، بلکہ اس سے بھی زیادہ بعض لوگ وہ بھی ہیں جو کہتے ہیں اے ہمارے رب !ہمیں دنیا میں دے ۔ ایسے لوگوں کا آخرت میں کوئی حصہ نہیں ۔

And when you have completed your rites, remember Allah like your [previous] remembrance of your fathers or with [much] greater remembrance. And among the people is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world," and he will have in the Hereafter no share.

اور اللہ تعالٰی کی یاد ان گنتی کے چند دنوں ( ایام تشریق ) میں کرو ، دو دن کی جلدی کرنے والے پر بھی کوئی گناہ نہیں اور جو پیچھے رہ جائے اس پر بھی کوئی گناہ نہیں یہ پرہیزگار کے لئے ہے اور اللہ تعالٰی سے ڈرتے رہو اور جان رکھو کہ تم سب اُسی کی طرف جمع کئے جاؤ گے ۔

And remember Allah during [specific] numbered days. Then whoever hastens [his departure] in two days - there is no sin upon him; and whoever delays [until the third] - there is no sin upon him - for him who fears Allah . And fear Allah and know that unto Him you will be gathered.

بعض لوگوں کی دنیاوی غرض کی باتیں آپ کو خوش کر دیتی ہیں اور وہ اپنے دل کی باتوں پر اللہ کو گواہ کرتا ہے حالانکہ دراصل وہ زبردست جھگڑالو ہے ۔

And of the people is he whose speech pleases you in worldly life, and he calls Allah to witness as to what is in his heart, yet he is the fiercest of opponents.

جب وہ لوٹ کر جاتا ہے تو زمین میں فساد پھیلانے کی اور کھیتی اور نسل کی بربادی کی کوشش میں لگا رہتا ہے اور اللہ تعالٰی فساد کو ناپسند کرتا ہے ۔

And when he goes away, he strives throughout the land to cause corruption therein and destroy crops and animals. And Allah does not like corruption.

اور جب اِ س سے کہا جائے کہ اللہ سے ڈر تو تکبر اور تعصب اسے گناہ پر آمادہ کر دیتا ہے ایسے کے لئے بس جہنم ہی ہے اور یقینًا وہ بدترین جگہ ہے ۔

And when it is said to him, "Fear Allah ," pride in the sin takes hold of him. Sufficient for him is Hellfire, and how wretched is the resting place.

اور بعض لوگ وہ بھی ہیں کہ اللہ تعالٰی کی رضامندی کی طلب میں اپنی جان تک بیچ ڈالتے ہیں اور اللہ تعالٰی اپنے بندوں پر بڑی مہربانی کرنے والا ہے ۔

And of the people is he who sells himself, seeking means to the approval of Allah . And Allah is kind to [His] servants.

ایمان والو !اسلام میں پورے پورے داخل ہو جاؤ اور شیطان کے قدموں کی تابعداری نہ کرو وہ تمہارا کُھلا دشمن ہے ۔

O you who have believed, enter into Islam completely [and perfectly] and do not follow the footsteps of Satan. Indeed, he is to you a clear enemy.

تم پر جہاد فرض کیا گیا گو وہ تمہیں دشوار معلوم ہو ، ممکن ہے کہ تم کسی چیز کو بری جانو اور دراصل وہی تمہارے لئے بھلی ہو اور یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ تم کسی چیز کو اچھی سمجھو ، حالانکہ وہ تمہارے لئے بری ہو حقیقی علم اللہ ہی کو ہے ، تم محض بے خبر ہو ۔

Fighting has been enjoined upon you while it is hateful to you. But perhaps you hate a thing and it is good for you; and perhaps you love a thing and it is bad for you. And Allah Knows, while you know not.

آپ سے حیض کے بارے میں سوال کرتے ہیں کہہ دیجئے کہ وہ گندگی ہے حالت حیض میں عورتوں سے الگ رہو اور جب تک وہ پاک نہ ہو جائیں ان کے قریب نہ جاؤ ، ہاں جب وہ پاک ہوجائیں تو ان کے پاس جاؤ جہاں سے اللہ نے تمہیں اجازت دی ہے اللہ توبہ کرنے والوں کو اور پاک رہنے والوں کو پسند فرماتا ہے ۔

And they ask you about menstruation. Say, "It is harm, so keep away from wives during menstruation. And do not approach them until they are pure. And when they have purified themselves, then come to them from where Allah has ordained for you. Indeed, Allah loves those who are constantly repentant and loves those who purify themselves."

تمہاری بیویاں تمہاری کھیتیاں ہیں اپنی کھیتیوں میں جس طرح چاہو آؤ اور اپنے لئے ( نیک اعمال ) آگے بھیجو اور اللہ تعالٰی سے ڈرتے رہا کرو اور جان رکھو کہ تم اس سے ملنے والے ہو اور ایمان والوں کو خوشخبری سُنا دیجئے ۔

Your wives are a place of sowing of seed for you, so come to your place of cultivation however you wish and put forth [righteousness] for yourselves. And fear Allah and know that you will meet Him. And give good tidings to the believers.
