الفاظ ( مَا )

فرعون نے اپنے لشکروں سمیت ان کا تعاقب کیا پھر تو دریا ان سب پر چھا گیا جیسا کچھ چھا جانے والا تھا ۔

So Pharaoh pursued them with his soldiers, and there covered them from the sea that which covered them,

تم ہماری دی ہوئی پاکیزہ روزی کھاؤ ، اور اس میں حد سے آگے نہ بڑھو ورنہ تم پر میرا غضب نازل ہوگا ، اور جس پر میرا غضب نازل ہو جائے وہ یقیناً تباہ ہوا ۔

[Saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen."

موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کہنے لگے اے ہارون! انہیں گمراہ ہوتا ہوا دیکھتے ہوئے تجھے کس چیز نے روکا تھا ۔

[Moses] said, "O Aaron, what prevented you, when you saw them going astray,

اسی طرح ہم تیرے سامنے پہلے کی گزری ہوئی وارداتیں بیان فرما رہے ہیں اور یقیناً ہم تجھے اپنے پاس سے نصیحت عطا فرما چکے ہیں ۔

Thus, [O Muhammad], We relate to you from the news of what has preceded. And We have certainly given you from Us the Qur'an.

جو کچھ ان کے آگے پیچھے ہے اسے اللہ ہی جانتا ہے مخلوق کا علم اس پر حاوی نہیں ہو سکتا ۔

Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, but they do not encompass it in knowledge.

پس ان کی باتوں پر صبر کر اور اپنے پروردگار کی تسبیح اور تعریف بیان کرتا رہ ، سورج نکلنے سے پہلے اور اس کے ڈوبنے سے پہلے ، رات کے مختلف وقتوں میں بھی اور دن کے حصوں میں بھی تسبیح کرتا رہ بہت ممکن ہے کہ تو راضی ہو جائے ۔

So be patient over what they say and exalt [ Allah ] with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting; and during periods of the night [exalt Him] and at the ends of the day, that you may be satisfied.

اور اپنی نگاہیں ہرگز چیزوں کی طرف نہ دوڑانا جو ہم نے ان میں سے مختلف لوگوں کو آرائش دنیا کی دے رکھی ہیں تاکہ انہیں اس میں آزمالیں تیرے رب کا دیا ہوا ہی ( بہت ) بہتر اور بہت باقی رہنے والا ہے ۔

And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.

انہوں نے کہا کہ یہ نبی ہمارے پاس اپنے پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی نشانی کیوں نہیں لایا؟ کیا ان کے پاس اگلی کتابوں کی واضح دلیل نہیں پہنچی؟

And they say, "Why does he not bring us a sign from his Lord?" Has there not come to them evidence of what was in the former scriptures?

ان کے پاس ان کے رب کی طرف سے جو بھی نئی نئی نصیحت آتی ہے اسے وہ کھیل کود میں ہی سنتے ہیں ۔

No mention comes to them anew from their Lord except that they listen to it while they are at play

وہ ان کے آگے پیچھے کے تمام امور سے واقف ہے وہ کسی کی بھی سفارش نہیں کرتے بجز ان کے جن سے اللہ خوش ہو وہ خود ہیبت الٰہی سے لرزاں و ترساں ہیں ۔

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.

کہہ دیجئے! میں تو تمہیں اللہ کی وحی کے ذریعہ آگاہ کر رہا ہوں مگر بہرے لوگ بات نہیں سنتے جبکہ انہیں آگاہ کیا جائے ۔

Say, "I only warn you by revelation." But the deaf do not hear the call when they are warned.

جبکہ اس نے اپنے باپ سے اور اپنی قوم سے کہا کہ یہ مورتیاں جن کے تم مجاور بنے بیٹھے ہو کیا ہیں؟

When he said to his father and his people, "What are these statues to which you are devoted?"

پھر اپنے سروں کے بل اوندھے ہوگئے ( اور کہنے لگے کہ ) یہ توتجھے بھی معلوم ہے کہ یہ بولنے چالنے والے نہیں ۔

Then they reversed themselves, [saying], "You have already known that these do not speak!"

اللہ کے خلیل نے اسی وقت فرمایا افسوس! کیا تم اللہ کے علاوہ ان کی عبادت کرتے ہو جو نہ تمہیں کچھ بھی نفع پہنچا سکیں نہ نقصان ۔

He said, "Then do you worship instead of Allah that which does not benefit you at all or harm you?

تو ہم نے اس کی سن لی اور جو دکھ انہیں تھا اسے دور کر دیا اور اس کو اہل و عیال عطا فرمائے بلکہ ان کے ساتھ ویسے ہی اور ، اپنی خاص مہربانی سے تاکہ سچے بندوں کے لئے سبب نصیحت ہو ۔

So We responded to him and removed what afflicted him of adversity. And We gave him [back] his family and the like thereof with them as mercy from Us and a reminder for the worshippers [of Allah ].

وہ تو دوزخ کی آہٹ تک نہ سنیں گے اور اپنی من بھاتی چیزوں میں ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہونگے ۔

They will not hear its sound, while they are, in that which their souls desire, abiding eternally.

البتہ اللہ تعالٰی تو کھلی اور ظاہر بات کو بھی جانتا ہے اور جو تم چھپاتے ہو اسے بھی جانتا ہے ۔

Indeed, He knows what is declared of speech, and He knows what you conceal.

خود نبی نے کہا اے رب! انصاف کے ساتھ فیصلہ فرما اور ہمارا رب بڑا مہربان ہے جس سے مدد طلب کی جاتی ہے ان باتوں پر جو تم بیان کرتے ہو ۔

[The Prophet] has said, "My Lord, judge [between us] in truth. And our Lord is the Most Merciful, the one whose help is sought against that which you describe."

لوگو! اگر تمہیں مرنے کے بعد جی اٹھنے میں شک ہے تو سوچو ہم نے تمہیں مٹی سے پیدا کیا پھر نطفہ سے پھر خون بستہ سے پھر گوشت کے لوتھڑے سے جو صورت دیا گیا تھا اور وہ بے نقشہ تھا یہ ہم تم پر ظاہر کر دیتے ہیں اور ہم جسے چاہیں ایک ٹھہرائے ہوئے وقت تک رحم مادر میں رکھتے ہیں پھر تمہیں بچپن کی حالت میں دنیا میں لاتے ہیں پھر تاکہ تم اپنی پوری جوانی کو پہنچو ، تم میں سے بعض تو وہ ہیں جو فوت کر لئے جاتے ہیں اور بعض بے غرض عمر کی طرف پھر سے لوٹا دئیے جاتے ہیں کہ وہ ایک چیز سے باخبر ہونے کے بعد پھر بے خبر ہو جائے تو دیکھتا ہے کہ زمین ( بنجر اور ) خشک ہے پھر جب ہم اس پر بارشیں برساتے ہیں تو وہ ابھرتی ہے اور پھولتی ہے اور ہر قسم کی رونق دار نباتات اگاتی ہے ۔

O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clinging clot, and then from a lump of flesh, formed and unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child, and then [We develop you] that you may reach your [time of] maturity. And among you is he who is taken in [early] death, and among you is he who is returned to the most decrepit [old] age so that he knows, after [once having] knowledge, nothing. And you see the earth barren, but when We send down upon it rain, it quivers and swells and grows [something] of every beautiful kind.

اللہ کے سوا انہیں پکاراکر تے ہیں جو نہ انہیں نقصان پہنچا سکیں نہ نفع ۔ یہی تو دور دراز کی گمراہی ہے ۔

He invokes instead of Allah that which neither harms him nor benefits him. That is what is the extreme error.

ایمان اور نیک اعمال والوں کو اللہ تعالٰی لہریں لیتی ہوئی نہروں والی جنتوں میں لے جائے گا ۔ اللہ جو ارادہ کرے اسے کرکے رہتا ہے ۔

Indeed, Allah will admit those who believe and do righteous deeds to gardens beneath which rivers flow. Indeed, Allah does what He intends.

جس کا خیال یہ ہو کہ اللہ تعالٰی اپنے رسول کی مدد دونوں جہان میں نہ کرے گا وہ اونچائی پر ایک رسہ باندھ کر ( اپنے حلق میں پھندا ڈال کر اپنا گلا گھونٹ لے ) پھر دیکھ لے کہ اس کی چالاکیوں سے وہ بات ہٹ جاتی ہے جو اسے تڑپا رہی ہے؟

Whoever should think that Allah will not support [Prophet Muhammad] in this world and the Hereafter - let him extend a rope to the ceiling, then cut off [his breath], and let him see: will his effort remove that which enrages [him]?

کیا تو نہیں دیکھ رہا کہ اللہ کے سامنے سجدے میں ہیں سب آسمانوں والے اور سب زمینوں والے اور سورج اور چاند اور ستارے اور پہاڑ اور درخت اور جانور اور بہت سے انسان بھی ہاں بہت سے وہ بھی ہیں جن پر عذاب کا مقولہ ثابت ہو چکا ہے جسے رب ذلیل کر دے اسے کوئی عزت دینے والا نہیں ، اللہ جو چاہتا ہے کرتا ہے ۔

Do you not see that to Allah prostrates whoever is in the heavens and whoever is on the earth and the sun, the moon, the stars, the mountains, the trees, the moving creatures and many of the people? But upon many the punishment has been justified. And he whom Allah humiliates - for him there is no bestower of honor. Indeed, Allah does what He wills.

جس سے ان کے پیٹ کی سب چیزیں اور کھالیں گلا دی جائیں گی ۔

By which is melted that within their bellies and [their] skins.

اپنے فائدے حاصل کرنے کو آجائیں اور ان مقررہ دنوں میں اللہ کا نام یاد کریں ان چوپایوں پر جو پالتو ہیں پس تم آپ بھی کھاؤ اور بھوکے فقیروں کو بھی کھلاؤ ۔

That they may witness benefits for themselves and mention the name of Allah on known days over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. So eat of them and feed the miserable and poor.

یہ ہے اور جو کوئی اللہ کی حرمتوں کی تعظیم کرے اس کے اپنے لئے اس کے رب کے پاس بہتری ہے ۔ اور تمہارے لئے چوپائے جانور حلال کر دیئے گئے بجز ان کے جو تمہارے سامنے بیان کئے گئے ہیں پس تمہیں بتوں کی گندگی سے بچتے رہنا چاہیے اور جھوٹی بات سے بھی پرہیز کرنا چاہیے ۔

That [has been commanded], and whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allah - it is best for him in the sight of his Lord. And permitted to you are the grazing livestock, except what is recited to you. So avoid the uncleanliness of idols and avoid false statement,

اور ہر امت کے لئے ہم نے قربانی کے طریقے مقرر فرمائے ہیں تاکہ وہ اِن چوپائے جانوروں پر اللہ کا نام لیں جو اللہ نے انہیں دے رکھے ہیں سمجھ لو کہ تم سب کا معبود برحق صرف ایک ہی ہے تم اسی کے تابع فرمان ہو جاؤ عاجزی کرنے والوں کو خوشخبری سنا دیجئے!

And for all religion We have appointed a rite [of sacrifice] that they may mention the name of Allah over what He has provided for them of [sacrificial] animals. For your god is one God, so to Him submit. And, [O Muhammad], give good tidings to the humble [before their Lord]

اللہ تعالٰی کو قربانیوں کے گوشت نہیں پہنچتے نہ ان کے خون بلکہ اسے توتمہارے دل کی پرہیزگاری پہنچتی ہے اسی طرح اللہ نے جانوروں کو تمہارا مطیع کر دیا ہے کہ تم اس کی راہنمائی کے شکریئے میں اس کی بڑائیاں بیان کرو ، اور نیک لوگوں کو خوشخبری سنا دیجئے ۔

Their meat will not reach Allah , nor will their blood, but what reaches Him is piety from you. Thus have We subjected them to you that you may glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and give good tidings to the doers of good.

ہم نے آپ سے پہلے جس رسول اور نبی کو بھیجا اس کے ساتھ یہ ہوا کہ جب وہ اپنے دل میں کوئی آرزو کرنے لگا شیطان نے اس کی آرزو میں کچھ ملا دیا ، پس شیطان کی ملاوٹ کو اللہ تعالٰی دور کر دیتا ہے پھر اپنی باتیں پکی کر دیتا ہے اللہ تعالٰی دانا اور باحکمت ہے ۔

And We did not send before you any messenger or prophet except that when he spoke [or recited], Satan threw into it [some misunderstanding]. But Allah abolishes that which Satan throws in; then Allah makes precise His verses. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

یہ اس لئے کہ شیطانی ملاوٹ کو اللہ تعالٰی ان لوگوں کی آزمائش کا ذریعہ بنا دے جن کے دلوں میں بیماری ہے اور جن کے دل سخت ہیں بیشک ظالم لوگ گہری مخالفت میں ہیں ۔

[That is] so He may make what Satan throws in a trial for those within whose hearts is disease and those hard of heart. And indeed, the wrongdoers are in extreme dissension.

بات یہی ہے اور جس نے بدلہ لیا اسی کے برابر جو اس کے ساتھ کیا گیا تھا پھر اگر اس سے زیادتی کی جائے تو یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی خود اس کی مدد فرمائے گا بیشک اللہ درگزر کرنے والا بخشنے والا ہے ۔

That [is so]. And whoever responds [to injustice] with the equivalent of that with which he was harmed and then is tyrannized - Allah will surely aid him. Indeed, Allah is Pardoning and Forgiving.

یہ سب اس لئے کہ اللہ ہی حق ہے اور اس کے سوا جسے بھی اور پکارتے ہیں وہ باطل ہے اور بیشک اللہ ہی بلندی والا کبریائی والا ہے ۔

That is because Allah is the Truth, and that which they call upon other than Him is falsehood, and because Allah is the Most High, the Grand.

آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو کچھ ہے اسی کا ہے اور یقیناً اللہ وہی ہے بے نیاز تعریفوں والا ۔

To Him belongs what is in the heavens and what is on the earth. And indeed, Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.

کیا آپ نے نہیں جانا کہ آسمان و زمین کی ہرچیز اللہ کے علم میں ہے ۔ یہ سب لکھی ہوئی کتاب میں محفوظ ہے ۔ اللہ تعالٰی پر تو یہ امر بالکل آسان ہے ۔

Do you not know that Allah knows what is in the heaven and earth? Indeed, that is in a Record. Indeed that, for Allah , is easy.

اور یہ اللہ کے سوا ان کی عبادت کر رہے ہیں جس کی کوئی خدائی دلیل نازل نہیں ہوئی نہ وہ خود ہی اس کا کوئی علم رکھتے ہیں ۔ ظالموں کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ۔

And they worship besides Allah that for which He has not sent down authority and that of which they have no knowledge. And there will not be for the wrongdoers any helper.

انہوں نے اللہ کے مرتبہ کے مطابق اس کی قدر جانی ہی نہیں ، اللہ تعالٰی بڑا ہی زور و قوت والا اور غالب و زبردست ہے ۔

They have not appraised Allah with true appraisal. Indeed, Allah is Powerful and Exalted in Might.

وہ بخوبی جانتا ہے جو کچھ ان کے آگے ہے اور جو کچھ ان کے پیچھے ہے اور اللہ ہی کی طرف سب کام لوٹائے جاتے ہیں ۔

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them. And to Allah will be returned [all] matters.

بجز اپنی بیویوں اور ملکیت کی لونڈیوں کے یقیناً یہ ملامتیوں میں سے نہیں ہیں ۔

Except from their wives or those their right hands possess, for indeed, they will not be blamed -

یقیناً ہم نے نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کو اس کی قوم کی طرف رسول بنا کر بھیجا ، اس نے کہا کہ اے میری قوم کے لوگو! اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں ، کیا تم ( اس سے ) نہیں ڈرتے ۔

And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"

اس کی قوم کے کافر سرداروں نے صاف کہہ دیا کہ یہ تو تم جیسا ہی انسان ہے ، یہ تم پر فضیلت اور بڑائی حاصل کرنا چاہتا ہے اگر اللہ ہی کو منظور ہوتا تو کسی فرشتے کو اتارتا ہم نے تو اسے اپنے اگلے باپ دادوں کے زمانے میں سنا ہی نہیں ۔

But the eminent among those who disbelieved from his people said, "This is not but a man like yourselves who wishes to take precedence over you; and if Allah had willed [to send a messenger], He would have sent down angels. We have not heard of this among our forefathers.

پھر ان میں خود ان میں سے ( ہی ) رسول بھی بھیجا کہ تم سب اللہ کی عبادت کرو اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں ، تم کیوں نہیں ڈرتے؟

And We sent among them a messenger from themselves, [saying], "Worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"

اور سردار ان قوم نے جواب دیا جو کفر کرتے تھے اور آخرت کی ملاقات کو جھٹلاتے تھے اور ہم نے انہیں دنیوی زندگی میں خوشحال کر رکھا تھا ، کہ یہ تو تم جیسا ہی انسان ہے تمہاری ہی خوراک یہ بھی کھاتا ہے اور تمہارے پینے کا پانی ہی یہ بھی پیتا ہے ۔

And the eminent among his people who disbelieved and denied the meeting of the Hereafter while We had given them luxury in the worldly life said, "This is not but a man like yourselves. He eats of that from which you eat and drinks of what you drink.

نہ تو کوئی امت اپنے وقت مقرہ سے آگے بڑھی اور نہ پیچھے رہی ۔

No nation will precede its time [of termination], nor will they remain [thereafter].

پھر ہم نے لگاتار رسول بھیجے جب جب جس امت کے پاس اس کا رسول آیا اس نے جھٹلایا ، پس ہم نے ایک کو دوسرے کے پیچھے لگا دیا اور انہیں افسانہ بنا دیا ۔ ان لوگوں کو دوری ہے جو ایمان قبول نہیں کرتے ۔

Then We sent Our messengers in succession. Every time there came to a nation its messenger, they denied him, so We made them follow one another [to destruction], and We made them narrations. So away with a people who do not believe.

اور اگر ہم ان پر رحم فرمائیں اور ان کی تکلیفیں دور کر دیں تو یہ تو اپنی اپنی سرکشی میں جم کر اور بہکنے لگیں ۔

And even if We gave them mercy and removed what was upon them of affliction, they would persist in their transgression, wandering blindly.

بلکہ ان لوگوں نے بھی ویسی ہی بات کہی جو اگلے کہتے چلے آئے ۔

Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.

نہ تو اللہ نے کسی کو بیٹا بنایا اور نہ اس کے ساتھ اور کوئی معبود ہے ، ورنہ ہر معبود اپنی مخلوق کو لئے لئے پھرتا اور ہر ایک دوسرے پر چڑھ دوڑتا جو اوصاف یہ بتلاتے ہیں ان سے اللہ پاک ( اور بے نیاز ) ہے ۔

Allah has not taken any son, nor has there ever been with Him any deity. [If there had been], then each deity would have taken what it created, and some of them would have sought to overcome others. Exalted is Allah above what they describe [concerning Him].

آپ دعا کریں کہ اے میرے پروردگار! اگر تو مجھے وہ دکھائے جس کا وعدہ انہیں دیا جا رہا ہے ۔

Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord, if You should show me that which they are promised,

ہم جو کچھ وعدے انہیں دے رہے ہیں سب آپ کو دکھا دینے پر یقیناً قادر ہیں ۔

And indeed, We are able to show you what We have promised them.

ایمان والو! شیطان کے قدم بقدم نہ چلو ۔ جو شخص شیطانی قدموں کی پیروی کرے تو وہ تو بے حیائی اور برے کاموں کا ہی حکم کرے گا اور اگر اللہ تعالٰی کا فضل و کرم تم پر نہ ہوتا تو تم میں سے کوئی بھی کبھی بھی پاک صاف نہ ہوتا ۔ لیکن اللہ تعالٰی جسے پاک کرنا چاہے ، کر دیتا ہے اور اللہ سب سننے والا سب جاننے والا ہے ۔

O you who have believed, do not follow the footsteps of Satan. And whoever follows the footsteps of Satan - indeed, he enjoins immorality and wrongdoing. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, not one of you would have been pure, ever, but Allah purifies whom He wills, and Allah is Hearing and Knowing.
