الفاظ ( عَلَيْهِمْ )

اور اگر ان بستیوں کے رہنے والے ایمان لے آتے اور پرہیزگاری اختیار کرتے تو ہم ان پر آسمان اور زمین کی برکتیں کھول دیتے لیکن انہوں نے تکذیب کی تو ہم نے ان کے اعمال کی وجہ سے ان کو پکڑ لیا ۔

And if only the people of the cities had believed and feared Allah , We would have opened upon them blessings from the heaven and the earth; but they denied [the messengers], so We seized them for what they were earning."

جو لوگ ایسے رسول نبی امی کا اتباع کرتے ہیں جن کو وہ لوگ اپنے پاس تورات وانجیل میں لکھا ہوا پاتے ہیں وہ ان کو نیک باتوں کا حکم فرماتے ہیں اور بری باتوں سے منع کرتے ہیں اور پاکیزہ چیزوں کو حلال بناتے ہیں اور گندی چیزوں کو ان پر حرام فرماتے ہیں اور ان لوگوں پر جو بوجھ اور طوق تھے ان کو دور کرتے ہیں ۔ سو جو لوگ اس نبی پر ایمان لاتے ہیں اور ان کی حمایت کرتے ہیں اور ان کی مدد کرتے ہیں اور اس نور کا اتباع کرتے ہیں جو ان کے ساتھ بھیجا گیا ہے ، ایسے لوگ پوری فلاح پانے والے ہیں

Those who follow the Messenger, the unlettered prophet, whom they find written in what they have of the Torah and the Gospel, who enjoins upon them what is right and forbids them what is wrong and makes lawful for them the good things and prohibits for them the evil and relieves them of their burden and the shackles which were upon them. So they who have believed in him, honored him, supported him and followed the light which was sent down with him - it is those who will be the successful.

سو بدل ڈالا ان ظالموں نے ایک اور کلمہ جو خلاف تھا اس کلمہ کے جس کی ان سے فرمائش کی گئی تھی ۔ اس پر ہم نے ان پر ایک آفت سماوی بھیجی اس وجہ سے کہ وہ حکم کو ضائع کرتے تھے ۔

But those who wronged among them changed [the words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them. So We sent upon them a punishment from the sky for the wrong that they were doing.

اور وہ وقت یاد کرنا چاہیے کہ آپ کے رب نے یہ بات بتلادی کہ وہ ان یہود پر قیامت تک ایسے شخص کو ضرور مسلط کرتا رہے گا جو ان کو سزائے شدید کی تکلیف پہنچاتا رہے گا بلاشبہ آپ کا رب جلدی ہی سزا دے دیتا ہے اور بلاشبہ وہ واقعی بڑی مغفرت اور بڑی رحمت والا ہے ۔

And [mention] when your Lord declared that He would surely [continue to] send upon them until the Day of Resurrection those who would afflict them with the worst torment. Indeed, your Lord is swift in penalty; but indeed, He is Forgiving and Merciful.

پھر ان کے بعد ایسے لوگ ان کے جانشین ہوئے کہ کتاب کو ان سے حاصل کیا وہ اس دنیائے فانی کا مال متاع لے لیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہماری ضرور مغفرت ہو جائے گی حالانکہ اگر ان کے پاس ویسا ہی مال متاع آنے لگے تو اس کو بھی لے لیں گے کیا ان سے اس کتاب کے اس مضمون کا عہد نہیں لیا گیا کہ اللہ کی طرف سے بجز حق بات کے اور کسی بات کی نسبت نہ کریں اور انہوں نے اس کتاب میں جو کچھ تھا اس کو پڑھ لیا اور آخرت والا گھر ان لوگوں کے لئے بہتر ہے جو تقوٰی رکھتے ہیں ، پھر کیا تم نہیں سمجھتے ۔

And there followed them successors who inherited the Scripture [while] taking the commodities of this lower life and saying, "It will be forgiven for us." And if an offer like it comes to them, they will [again] take it. Was not the covenant of the Scripture taken from them that they would not say about Allah except the truth, and they studied what was in it? And the home of the Hereafter is better for those who fear Allah , so will you not use reason?

اور ان لوگوں کو اس شخص کا حال پڑھ کر سنایئے کہ جس کو ہم نے اپنی آیتیں دیں پھر وہ ان سے بالکل نکل گیا ، پھر شیطان اس کے پیچھے لگ گیا سو وہ گمراہ لوگوں میں شامل ہوگیا ۔

And recite to them, [O Muhammad], the news of him to whom we gave [knowledge of] Our signs, but he detached himself from them; so Satan pursued him, and he became of the deviators.

بس ایمان والے تو ایسے ہوتے ہیں کہ جب اللہ تعالٰی کا ذکر آتا ہے تو ان کے قلوب ڈر جاتے ہیں اور جب اللہ تعالٰی کی آیتیں ان کو پڑھ کر سنائی جاتی ہیں تو وہ آیتیں ان کے ایمان کو اور زیادہ کر دیتی ہیں اور وہ لوگ اپنے رب پر توکل کرتے ہیں ۔

The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, their hearts become fearful, and when His verses are recited to them, it increases them in faith; and upon their Lord they rely -

اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سن لیا اگر ہم چاہیں تو اس کے برابر ہم بھی کہہ دیں ، یہ تو کچھ بھی نہیں صرف بے سند باتیں ہیں جو پہلوں سے منقول چلی آرہی ہیں ۔

And when Our verses are recited to them, they say, "We have heard. If we willed, we could say [something] like this. This is not but legends of the former peoples."

بلا شک یہ کافر لوگ اپنے مالوں کو اس لئے خرچ کر رہے ہیں کہ اللہ کی راہ سے روکیں سو یہ لوگ تو اپنے مالوں کو خرچ کرتے ہی رہیں گے پھر وہ مال ان کے حق میں باعث حسرت ہوجائیں گے پھر مغلوب ہوجائیں گے اور کافر لوگوں کو دوزخ کی طرف جمع کیا جائے گا ۔

Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered.

ان سے تم جنگ کرو اللہ تعالٰی انہیں تمہارے ہاتھوں عذاب دے گا انہیں ذلیل و رسوا کرے گا تمہیں ان پر مدد دے گا اور مسلمانوں کے کلیجے ٹھنڈے کرے گا ۔

Fight them; Allah will punish them by your hands and will disgrace them and give you victory over them and satisfy the breasts of a believing people

منافقوں کو ہر وقت اس بات کا کھٹکا لگا رہتا ہے کہ کہیں مسلمانوں پر کوئی سورت نہ اترے جو ان کے دلوں کی باتیں انہیں بتلا دے ۔ کہہ دیجئے کہ مذاق اڑاتے رہو یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی اسے ظاہر کرنے والا ہے جس سے تم ڈر دبک رہے ہو ۔

They hypocrites are apprehensive lest a surah be revealed about them, informing them of what is in their hearts. Say, "Mock [as you wish]; indeed, Allah will expose that which you fear."

اے نبی! کافروں اور منافقوں سے جہاد جاری رکھو اور ان پر سخت ہو جاؤ ان کی اصلی جگہ دوزخ ہے جو نہایت بدترین جگہ ہے ۔

O Prophet, fight against the disbelievers and the hypocrites and be harsh upon them. And their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the destination.

اور ان دیہاتیوں میں سے بعض ایسے ہیں کہ جو کچھ خرچ کرتے ہیں اس کو جرمانہ سمجھتے ہیں اور تم مسلمانوں کے واسطے برے وقت کے منتظر رہتے ہیں برا وقت ان ہی پر پڑنے والا ہے اور اللہ سننے والا جاننے والا ہے ۔

And among the bedouins are some who consider what they spend as a loss and await for you turns of misfortune. Upon them will be a misfortune of evil. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

اور کچھ لوگ ہیں جو اپنی خطا کے اقراری ہیں جنہوں نے ملے جلے عمل کئے تھے ، کچھ بھلے اور کچھ برے اللہ سے امید ہے کہ ان کی توبہ قبول فرمائے بلاشبہ اللہ تعالٰی بڑی مغفرت والا بڑی رحمت والا ہے ۔

And [there are] others who have acknowledged their sins. They had mixed a righteous deed with another that was bad. Perhaps Allah will turn to them in forgiveness. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.

آپ ان کے مالوں میں سے صدقہ لیجئے جس کے ذریعہ سے آپ ان کو پاک صاف کر دیں اور ان کے لئے دعا کیجئے ، بلاشبہ آپ کی دعا ان کے لئے موجب اطمینان ہے اور اللہ تعالٰی خوب سنتا ہے خوب جانتا ہے ۔

Take, [O, Muhammad], from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase, and invoke [ Allah 's blessings] upon them. Indeed, your invocations are reassurance for them. And Allah is Hearing and Knowing.

اور کچھ اور لوگ ہیں جن کا معاملہ اللہ کا حکم آنے تک ملتوی ہے ان کو سزا دے گا یا ان کی توبہ قبول کر لے گا ، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا بڑا حکمت والا ہے ۔

And [there are] others deferred until the command of Allah - whether He will punish them or whether He will forgive them. And Allah is Knowing and Wise.

اللہ تعالٰی نے پیغمبر کے حال پر توجہ فرمائی اور مہاجرین اور انصار کے حال پر بھی جنہوں نے ایسی تنگی کے وقت پیغمبر کا ساتھ دیا اس کے بعد کہ ان میں سے ایک گروہ کے دلوں میں کچھ تزلزل ہو چلا تھا پھر اللہ نے ان کے حال پر توجہ فرمائی ۔ بلاشبہ اللہ تعالٰی ان سب پر بہت ہی شفیق مہربان ہے ۔

Allah has already forgiven the Prophet and the Muhajireen and the Ansar who followed him in the hour of difficulty after the hearts of a party of them had almost inclined [to doubt], and then He forgave them. Indeed, He was to them Kind and Merciful.

اور تین شخصوں کے حال پر بھی جن کا معاملہ ملتوی چھوڑ دیا گیا تھا یہاں تک کہ جب زمین باوجود اپنی فراخی کے ان پر تنگ ہونے لگی اور وہ خود اپنی جان سے تنگ آگئے اور انہوں نے سمجھ لیا کہ اللہ سے کہیں پناہ نہیں مل سکتی بجز اس کے کہ اسی کی طرف رجوع کیا جائے پھر ان کے حال پر توجہ فرمائی تاکہ وہ آئندہ بھی توبہ کر سکیں بیشک اللہ تعالٰی بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا بڑا رحم والا ہے ۔

And [He also forgave] the three who were left behind [and regretted their error] to the point that the earth closed in on them in spite of its vastness and their souls confined them and they were certain that there is no refuge from Allah except in Him. Then He turned to them so they could repent. Indeed, Allah is the Accepting of repentance, the Merciful.

اور تین شخصوں کے حال پر بھی جن کا معاملہ ملتوی چھوڑ دیا گیا تھا یہاں تک کہ جب زمین باوجود اپنی فراخی کے ان پر تنگ ہونے لگی اور وہ خود اپنی جان سے تنگ آگئے اور انہوں نے سمجھ لیا کہ اللہ سے کہیں پناہ نہیں مل سکتی بجز اس کے کہ اسی کی طرف رجوع کیا جائے پھر ان کے حال پر توجہ فرمائی تاکہ وہ آئندہ بھی توبہ کر سکیں بیشک اللہ تعالٰی بہت توبہ قبول کرنے والا بڑا رحم والا ہے ۔

اور جب ان کے سامنے ہماری آیتیں پڑھی جاتی ہیں جو بالکل صاف صاف ہیں تو یہ لوگ جن کو ہمارے پاس آنے کی امید نہیں ہے یوں کہتے ہیں کہ اس کے سوا کوئی دوسرا قرآن لائیے یا اس میں کچھ ترمیم کر دیجئے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم یوں کہہ دیجئے کہ مجھے یہ حق نہیں کہ میں اپنی طرف سے اس میں ترمیم کر دوں بس میں تو اسی کا اتباع کرونگا جو میرے پاس وحی کے ذریعے سے پہنچا ہے اگر میں اپنے رب کی نافرمانی کروں تو میں ایک بڑے دن کے عذاب کا اندیشہ رکھتا ہوں ۔

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who do not expect the meeting with Us say, "Bring us a Qur'an other than this or change it." Say, [O Muhammad], "It is not for me to change it on my own accord. I only follow what is revealed to me. Indeed I fear, if I should disobey my Lord, the punishment of a tremendous Day."

یاد رکھو اللہ کے دوستوں پر نہ کوئی اندیشہ ہے اور نہ وہ غمگین ہوتے ہیں ۔

Unquestionably, [for] the allies of Allah there will be no fear concerning them, nor will they grieve

اور آپ ان کو نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کا قصہ پڑھ کر سنائیے جب کہ انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے فرمایا کہ اے میری قوم! اگر تم کو میرا رہنا اور احکام الٰہی کی نصیحت کرنا بھاری معلوم ہوتا ہے تو میرا تو اللہ ہی پربھروسہ ہے تم اپنی تدبیر مع اپنے شرکا کے پختہ کر لو پھر تمہاری تدبیر تمہاری گھٹن کا باعث نہ ہونی چاہیئے پھر میرے ساتھ کر گزرو اور مجھ کو مہلت نہ دو ۔

And recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, "O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allah has become burdensome upon you - then I have relied upon Allah . So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite.

یقیناً جن لوگوں کے حق میں آپ کے رب کی بات ثابت ہو چکی ہے وہ ایمان نہ لائیں گے ۔

Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe,

انہوں نے ان کی طرف منہ پھیر کر کہا کہ تمہاری کیا چیز کھو ئی گئی ہے؟

They said while approaching them, "What is it you are missing?"

آپ پوچھئے کہ آسمانوں اور زمین کا پروردگار کون ہے؟ کہہ دیجئے! اللہ کہہ دیجئے! کیا تم پھر بھی اس کے سوا اوروں کو حمایتی بنا رہے ہو جو خود اپنی جان کے بھی بھلے برے کا اختیار نہیں رکھتے کہہ دیجئے کہ کیااندھا اور بینا برابر ہو سکتا ہے؟ یا کیا اندھیریا ں اور روشنی برابر ہوسکتی ہے کیا جنہیں یہ اللہ کا شریک ٹھرا رہے ہیں انہوں نے بھی اللہ کی طرح مخلوق پیدا کی ہے کہ ان کی نظر میں پیدائش مشتبہ ہوگئی ہو ، کہہ دیجئے کہ صرف اللہ ہی تمام چیزوں کا خالق ہے وہ اکیلا ہے اور زبردست غالب ہے ۔

Say, "Who is Lord of the heavens and earth?" Say, " Allah ." Say, "Have you then taken besides Him allies not possessing [even] for themselves any benefit or any harm?" Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Or is darkness equivalent to light? Or have they attributed to Allah partners who created like His creation so that the creation [of each] seemed similar to them?" Say, " Allah is the Creator of all things, and He is the One, the Prevailing."

ہمیشہ رہنے کے باغات جہاں یہ خود جائیں گے اور ان کے باپ دادوں اور بیویوں اور اولادوں میں سے بھی جو نیکوکار ہونگے ان کے پاس فرشتے ہر ہر دروازے سے آئیں گے ۔

Gardens of perpetual residence; they will enter them with whoever were righteous among their fathers, their spouses and their descendants. And the angels will enter upon them from every gate, [saying],

اور اگر ہم ان پر آسمان کا دروازہ کھول بھی دیں اور یہ وہاں چڑھنے بھی لگ جائیں ۔

And [even] if We opened to them a gate from the heaven and they continued therein to ascend,

میرے بندوں پر تجھے کوئی غلبہ نہیں لیکن ہاں جو گمراہ لوگ تیری پیروی کریں ۔

Indeed, My servants - no authority will you have over them, except those who follow you of the deviators.

بالآخر ہم نے اس شہر کو اوپر تلے کر دیا اور ان لوگوں پر کنکر والے پتھر برسائے ۔

And We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay.

آپ ہرگز اپنی نظریں اس چیز کی طرف نہ دوڑائیں جس سے ہم نے ان میں سے کئی قسم کے لوگوں کو بہرہ مند کر رکھا ہے نہ ان پر آپ افسوس کریں اور مومنوں کے لئے اپنے بازو جھکائے رہیں ۔

Do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [certain] categories of the disbelievers, and do not grieve over them. And lower your wing to the believers

اور جس دن ہم ہر امت میں انہی میں سے ان کے مقابلے پر گواہ کھڑا کریں گے اور تجھے ان سب پر گواہ بنا کر لائیں گے اور ہم نے تجھ پر یہ کتاب نازل فرمائی ہے جس میں ہرچیز کا شافی بیان ہے اور ہدایت اور رحمت اور خوشخبری ہے مسلمانوں کے لئے ۔

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect among every nation a witness over them from themselves. And We will bring you, [O Muhammad], as a witness over your nation. And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.

آپ صبر کریں بغیر توفیق الٰہی کے آپ صبر کر ہی نہیں سکتے اور ان کے حال پر رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور جو مکرو فریب یہ کرتے رہتے ہیں ان سے تنگ دل نہ ہوں ۔

And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah . And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

پھر ہم نے ان پر تمہارا غلبہ دے کر تمہارے دن پھیرے اور مال اور اولاد سے تمہاری مدد کی اور تمہیں بڑے جتھے والا بنا دیا ۔

Then We gave back to you a return victory over them. And We reinforced you with wealth and sons and made you more numerous in manpower

تمہارا رب تم سے بہ نسبت تمہارے بہت زیادہ جاننے والا ہے ، وہ اگر چاہے تو تم پر رحم کر دے یا اگر وہ چاہے تمہیں عذاب دے ہم نے آپ کو ان کا ذمہ دار ٹھہرا کر نہیں بھیجا ۔

Your Lord is most knowing of you. If He wills, He will have mercy upon you; or if He wills, He will punish you. And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], over them as a manager.

ان میں سے تو جسے بھی اپنی آواز سے بہکا سکے گا بہکا لے اور ان پر اپنے سوار اور پیادے چڑھالا اور ان کے مال اور اولاد میں سے اپنا بھی ساجھا لگا اور انہیں ( جھوٹے ) وعدے دے لے ان سے جتنے بھی وعدے شیطان کے ہوتے ہیں سب کے سب سراسر فریب ہیں ۔

And incite [to senselessness] whoever you can among them with your voice and assault them with your horses and foot soldiers and become a partner in their wealth and their children and promise them." But Satan does not promise them except delusion.

میرے سچے بندوں پر تیرا کوئی قابو اور بس نہیں تیرا رب کار سازی کرنے والا کافی ہے ۔

Indeed, over My [believing] servants there is for you no authority. And sufficient is your Lord as Disposer of affairs.

آپ کہہ دیں کہ اگر زمین میں فرشتے چلتے پھرتے اور رہتے بستے ہوتے تو ہم بھی ان کے پاس کسی آسمانی فرشتے ہی کو رسول بنا کر بھیجتے ۔

Say, "If there were upon the earth angels walking securely, We would have sent down to them from the heaven an angel [as a] messenger."

کہہ دیجئے! تم اس پر ایمان لاؤ یا نہ لاؤ ، جنہیں اس سے پہلے علم دیا گیا ہے ان کے پاس تو جب بھی اس کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو وہ ٹھوڑیوں کے بل سجدہ میں گر پڑتے ہیں ۔

Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,

یہ ہے ہماری قوم جس نے اس کے سوا اور معبود بنا رکھے ہیں ۔ ان کی خدائی کی یہ کوئی صاف دلیل کیوں پیش نہیں کرتے اللہ پر جھوٹ افترا باند ھنے والے سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہے؟

These, our people, have taken besides Him deities. Why do they not bring for [worship of] them a clear authority? And who is more unjust than one who invents about Allah a lie?"

آپ خیال کرتے کہ وہ بیدار ہیں ، حالانکہ وہ سوئے ہوئے تھے خود ہم ہی انہیں دائیں بائیں کروٹیں دلایا کرتے تھے ان کا کتا بھی چوکھٹ پر اپنے ہاتھ پھیلائے ہوئے تھا ۔ اگر آپ جھانک کر انہیں دیکھنا چاہتے تو ضرور الٹے پاؤں بھاگ کھڑے ہوتے اور ان کے رعب سے آپ پر دہشت چھا جاتی ۔

And you would think them awake, while they were asleep. And We turned them to the right and to the left, while their dog stretched his forelegs at the entrance. If you had looked at them, you would have turned from them in flight and been filled by them with terror.

ہم نے اس طرح لوگوں کو ان کے حال سے آگاہ کر دیا کہ وہ جان لیں کہ اللہ کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک و شبہ نہیں جبکہ وہ اپنے امر میں آپس میں اختلاف کر رہے تھے کہنے لگے ان کے غار پر ایک عمارت بنالو اور ان کا رب ہی ان کے حال کا زیادہ عالم ہے جن لوگوں نے ان کے بارے میں غلبہ پایا وہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو ان کے آس پاس مسجد بنالیں گے ۔

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

ہم نے اس طرح لوگوں کو ان کے حال سے آگاہ کر دیا کہ وہ جان لیں کہ اللہ کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک و شبہ نہیں جبکہ وہ اپنے امر میں آپس میں اختلاف کر رہے تھے کہنے لگے ان کے غار پر ایک عمارت بنالو اور ان کا رب ہی ان کے حال کا زیادہ عالم ہے جن لوگوں نے ان کے بارے میں غلبہ پایا وہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو ان کے آس پاس مسجد بنالیں گے ۔

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

ہم نے اس طرح لوگوں کو ان کے حال سے آگاہ کر دیا کہ وہ جان لیں کہ اللہ کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک و شبہ نہیں جبکہ وہ اپنے امر میں آپس میں اختلاف کر رہے تھے کہنے لگے ان کے غار پر ایک عمارت بنالو اور ان کا رب ہی ان کے حال کا زیادہ عالم ہے جن لوگوں نے ان کے بارے میں غلبہ پایا وہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو ان کے آس پاس مسجد بنالیں گے ۔

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

یہی وہ انبیا ءہیں جن پر اللہ تعالٰی نے فضل وکرم کیا جو اولادِ آدم میں سے ہیں اور ان لوگوں کی نسل سے ہیں جنہیں ہم نے نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کے ساتھ کشتی میں چڑھا لیا تھا ، اور اولاد ابراہیم و یعقوب سے اور ہماری طرف سے راہ یافتہ اور ہمارے پسندیدہ لوگوں میں سے ۔ ان کے سامنے جب اللہ رحمان کی آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی تھی یہ سجدہ کرتے اورروتے گڑ گڑاتے گر پڑتے تھے ۔

Those were the ones upon whom Allah bestowed favor from among the prophets of the descendants of Adam and of those We carried [in the ship] with Noah, and of the descendants of Abraham and Israel, and of those whom We guided and chose. When the verses of the Most Merciful were recited to them, they fell in prostration and weeping.

یہی وہ انبیا ءہیں جن پر اللہ تعالٰی نے فضل وکرم کیا جو اولادِ آدم میں سے ہیں اور ان لوگوں کی نسل سے ہیں جنہیں ہم نے نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کے ساتھ کشتی میں چڑھا لیا تھا ، اور اولاد ابراہیم و یعقوب سے اور ہماری طرف سے راہ یافتہ اور ہمارے پسندیدہ لوگوں میں سے ۔ ان کے سامنے جب اللہ رحمان کی آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی تھی یہ سجدہ کرتے اورروتے گڑ گڑاتے گر پڑتے تھے ۔

جب ان کے سامنے ہماری روشن آیتیں تلاوت کی جاتی ہیں تو کافر مسلمانوں سے کہتے ہیں بتاؤ ہم تم دونوں جماعتوں میں سے کس کا مرتبہ زیادہ ہے؟ اور کس کی مجلس شاندار ہے؟

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Which of [our] two parties is best in position and best in association?"

لیکن ایسا ہرگز نہیں ۔ وہ تو ان کی پوجا سے منکر ہوجائیں گے اور الٹے ان کے دشمن بن جائیں گے ۔

No! Those "gods" will deny their worship of them and will be against them opponents [on the Day of Judgement].

تو ان کے بارے میں جلدی نہ کر ، ہم تو خود ہی ان کے لئے مدت شماری کر رہے ہیں ۔

So be not impatient over them. We only count out to them a [limited] number.

جب ان کے سامنے ہمارے کلام کی کھلی ہوئی آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو آپ کافروں کے چہروں پر ناخوشی کے صاف آثار پہچان لیتے ہیں ۔ وہ تو قریب ہوتے ہیں کہ ہماری آیتیں سنانے والوں پر حملہ کر بیٹھیں کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا میں تمہیں اس سے بھی زیادہ بدتر خبر دوں ۔ وہ آگ ہے جس کا وعدہ اللہ نے کافروں سے کر رکھا ہے اور وہ بہت ہی بری جگہ ہے ۔

And when Our verses are recited to them as clear evidences, you recognize in the faces of those who disbelieve disapproval. They are almost on the verge of assaulting those who recite to them Our verses. Say, "Then shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that? [It is] the Fire which Allah has promised those who disbelieve, and wretched is the destination."

جب ان کے سامنے ہمارے کلام کی کھلی ہوئی آیتوں کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو آپ کافروں کے چہروں پر ناخوشی کے صاف آثار پہچان لیتے ہیں ۔ وہ تو قریب ہوتے ہیں کہ ہماری آیتیں سنانے والوں پر حملہ کر بیٹھیں کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا میں تمہیں اس سے بھی زیادہ بدتر خبر دوں ۔ وہ آگ ہے جس کا وعدہ اللہ نے کافروں سے کر رکھا ہے اور وہ بہت ہی بری جگہ ہے ۔
