الفاظ ( لَا )

اور جن جن کو یہ لوگ اللہ تعالٰی کے سوا پکارتے ہیں وہ کسی چیز کو پیدا نہیں کر سکتے ، بلکہ وہ خود پیدا کیئے ہوئے ہیں ۔

And those they invoke other than Allah create nothing, and they [themselves] are created.

تم سب کا معبود صرف اللہ تعالٰی اکیلا ہے اور آخرت پر ایمان نہ رکھنے والوں کے دل منکر ہیں اور وہ خود تکبر سے بھرے ہوئے ہیں ۔

Your god is one God. But those who do not believe in the Hereafter - their hearts are disapproving, and they are arrogant.

بیشک و شبہ اللہ تعالٰی ہر اس چیز کو ، جسے وہ لوگ چھپاتے ہیں اور جسے ظاہر کرتے ہیں ، بخوبی جانتا ہے ۔ وہ غرور کرنے والوں کو پسند نہیں فرماتا ۔

Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.

بیشک و شبہ اللہ تعالٰی ہر اس چیز کو ، جسے وہ لوگ چھپاتے ہیں اور جسے ظاہر کرتے ہیں ، بخوبی جانتا ہے ۔ وہ غرور کرنے والوں کو پسند نہیں فرماتا ۔

Assuredly, Allah knows what they conceal and what they declare. Indeed, He does not like the arrogant.

ان سے پہلے کے لوگوں نے بھی مکر کیا تھا ، ( آخر ) اللہ نے ( ان کے منصوبوں ) کی عمارتوں کو جڑوں سے اکھیڑ دیا اور ان ( کے سروں ) پر ( ان کی ) چھتیں اوپر سے گر پڑیں اور ان کے پاس عذاب وہاں سے آگیا جہاں کا انہیں وہم و گمان بھی نہ تھا ۔

Those before them had already plotted, but Allah came at their building from the foundations, so the roof fell upon them from above them, and the punishment came to them from where they did not perceive.

گو آپ ان کی ہدایت کے خواہشمند رہے ہیں لیکن اللہ تعالٰی اسے ہدایت نہیں دیتا جسے گمراہ کردے اور نہ ان کا کوئی مددگار ہوتا ہے ۔

[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.

وہ لوگ بڑی سخت سخت قسمیں کھا کھا کر کہتے ہیں کہ مردوں کو اللہ تعالٰی زندہ نہیں کرے گا ۔ کیوں نہیں ضرور زندہ کرے گا یہ تو اس کا برحق لازمی وعدہ ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے نہیں ۔

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.

وہ لوگ بڑی سخت سخت قسمیں کھا کھا کر کہتے ہیں کہ مردوں کو اللہ تعالٰی زندہ نہیں کرے گا ۔ کیوں نہیں ضرور زندہ کرے گا یہ تو اس کا برحق لازمی وعدہ ہے لیکن اکثر لوگ نہیں جانتے نہیں ۔

And they swear by Allah their strongest oaths [that] Allah will not resurrect one who dies. But yes - [it is] a true promise [binding] upon Him, but most of the people do not know.

آپ سے پہلے بھی ہم مردوں کو ہی بھیجتے رہے ، جن کی جانب وحی اتارا کرتے تھے پس اگر تم نہیں جانتے تو اہل علم سے دریافت کرلو ۔

And We sent not before you except men to whom We revealed [Our message]. So ask the people of the message if you do not know.

بدترین داؤ پیچ کرنے والے کیا اس بات سے بے خوف ہوگئے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالٰی انہیں زمین میں دھنسا دے یا ان کے پاس ایسی جگہ سے عذاب آجائے جہاں کا انہیں وہم وگمان بھی نہ ہو ۔

Then, do those who have planned evil deeds feel secure that Allah will not cause the earth to swallow them or that the punishment will not come upon them from where they do not perceive?

یقیناً آسمان و زمین کے کل جاندار اور تمام فرشتے اللہ تعالٰی کے سامنے سجدے کرتے ہیں اور ذرا بھی تکبر نہیں کرتے ۔

And to Allah prostrates whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth of creatures, and the angels [as well], and they are not arrogant.

اللہ تعالٰی ارشاد فرما چکا ہے کہ دو معبود نہ بناؤ ۔ معبود تو صرف وہی اکیلا ہے پس تم صرف سب میرا ہی ڈر خوف رکھو ۔

And Allah has said, "Do not take for yourselves two deities. He is but one God, so fear only Me."

اور جسے جانتے بو جھتے بھی نہیں اس کا حصہ ہماری دی ہوئی روزی میں سے مقرر کرتے ہیں ، واللہ تمہارے اس بہتان کا سوال تم سے ضرور ہی کیا جائے گا ۔

And they assign to what they do not know a portion of that which We have provided them. By Allah , you will surely be questioned about what you used to invent.

آخرت پر ایمان نہ رکھنے والوں کی ہی بری مثال ہے اللہ کے لئے تو بہت ہی بلند صفت ہے ، وہ بڑا ہی غالب اور با حکمت ہے ۔

For those who do not believe in the Hereafter is the description of evil; and for Allah is the highest attribute. And He is Exalted in Might, the Wise.

اگر لوگوں کے گناہ پر اللہ تعالٰی ان کی گرفت کرتا تو روئے زمین پر ایک بھی جاندار باقی نہ رہتا لیکن وہ تو انہیں ایک وقت مقرر تک ڈھیل دیتا ہے جب ان کا وہ وقت آجاتا ہے تو وہ ایک ساعت نہ پیچھے رہ سکتے ہیں اور نہ آگے بڑھ سکتے ہیں ۔

And if Allah were to impose blame on the people for their wrongdoing, He would not have left upon the earth any creature, but He defers them for a specified term. And when their term has come, they will not remain behind an hour, nor will they precede [it].

اور وہ اپنے لئے جو ناپسند رکھتے ہیں اللہ کے لئے ثابت کرتے ہیں اور ان کی زبانیں جھوٹی باتیں بیان کرتی ہیں کہ ان کے لئے خوبی ہے نہیں نہیں ، دراصل ان کے لئے آگ ہے اور یہ دوزخیوں کے پیش رو ہیں ۔

And they attribute to Allah that which they dislike, and their tongues assert the lie that they will have the best [from Him]. Assuredly, they will have the Fire, and they will be [therein] neglected.

اللہ تعالٰی نے ہی تم سب کو پیدا کیا ہے وہی پھر تمہیں فوت کرے گا تم میں ایسے بھی ہیں جو بدترین عمر کی طرف لوٹائے جاتے ہیں کہ بہت کچھ جانتے بوجھنے کے بعد بھی نہ جانیں بیشک اللہ دانا اور توانا ہے ۔

And Allah created you; then He will take you in death. And among you is he who is reversed to the most decrepit [old] age so that he will not know, after [having had] knowledge, a thing. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Competent.

اور وہ اللہ تعالٰی کے سوا ان کی عبادت کرتے ہیں جو آسمانوں اور زمین سے انہیں کچھ بھی تو روزی نہیں دے سکتے اور نہ قدرت رکھتے ہیں ۔

And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable.

پس اللہ تعالٰی کے لئے مثالیں مت بناؤ اللہ تعالٰی خوب جانتا ہے اور تم نہیں جانتے ۔

So do not assert similarities to Allah . Indeed, Allah knows and you do not know.

اللہ تعالٰی ایک مثال بیان فرماتا ہے کہ ایک غلام ہے دوسرے کی ملکیت کا ، جو کسی بات کا اختیار نہیں رکھتا اور ایک اور شخص ہے جسے ہم نے اپنے پاس سے معقول روزی دے رکھی ہے جس میں سے وہ چھپے کھلے خرچ کرتا ہے ۔ کیا یہ سب برابر ہو سکتے ہیں؟ اللہ تعالٰی ہی کے لئے سب تعریف ہے ، بلکہ ان میں سے اکثر نہیں جانتے ۔

Allah presents an example: a slave [who is] owned and unable to do a thing and he to whom We have provided from Us good provision, so he spends from it secretly and publicly. Can they be equal? Praise to Allah ! But most of them do not know.

اللہ تعالٰی ایک اور مثال بیان فرماتا ہے دو شخصوں کی ، جن میں سے ایک تو گونگا ہے اور کسی چیز پر اختیار نہیں رکھتا بلکہ وہ اپنے مالک پر بوجھ ہے کہیں بھی اسے بھیجے وہ کوئی بھلائی نہیں لاتا ، کیا یہ اور وہ جو عدل کا حکم دیتا ہے اور ہے بھی سیدھی راہ پر ، برابر ہو سکتے ہیں؟

And Allah presents an example of two men, one of them dumb and unable to do a thing, while he is a burden to his guardian. Wherever he directs him, he brings no good. Is he equal to one who commands justice, while he is on a straight path?

اللہ تعالٰی ایک اور مثال بیان فرماتا ہے دو شخصوں کی ، جن میں سے ایک تو گونگا ہے اور کسی چیز پر اختیار نہیں رکھتا بلکہ وہ اپنے مالک پر بوجھ ہے کہیں بھی اسے بھیجے وہ کوئی بھلائی نہیں لاتا ، کیا یہ اور وہ جو عدل کا حکم دیتا ہے اور ہے بھی سیدھی راہ پر ، برابر ہو سکتے ہیں؟

اللہ تعالٰی نے تمہیں تمہاری ماؤں کے پیٹوں سے نکالا ہے کہ اس وقت تم کچھ بھی نہیں جانتے تھے ، اسی نے تمہارے کان اور آنکھیں اور دل بنائے کہ تم شکر گزاری کرو ۔

And Allah has extracted you from the wombs of your mothers not knowing a thing, and He made for you hearing and vision and intellect that perhaps you would be grateful.

اور جس دن ہم ہر امت میں سے گواہ کھڑا کریں گے پھر کافروں کو نہ اجازت دی جائے گی اور نہ ان سے توبہ کرنے کو کہا جائے گا ۔

And [mention] the Day when We will resurrect from every nation a witness. Then it will not be permitted to the disbelievers [to apologize or make excuses], nor will they be asked to appease [ Allah ].

اورجب ہم کسی آیت کی جگہ دوسری آیت بدل دیتے ہیں اور جو کچھ اللہ تعالٰی نازل فرماتا ہے اسے وہ خوب جانتا ہے تو یہ کہتے ہیں کہ تو تو بہتان باز ہے ۔ بات یہ ہے کہ ان میں سے اکثر جانتے ہی نہیں ۔

And when We substitute a verse in place of a verse - and Allah is most knowing of what He sends down - they say, "You, [O Muhammad], are but an inventor [of lies]." But most of them do not know.

جو لوگ اللہ تعالٰی کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے انہیں اللہ کی طرف سے بھی رہنمائی نہیں ہوتی اور ان کے لئے المناک عذاب ہیں ۔

Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allah - Allah will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment.

جو لوگ اللہ تعالٰی کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہیں رکھتے انہیں اللہ کی طرف سے بھی رہنمائی نہیں ہوتی اور ان کے لئے المناک عذاب ہیں ۔

Indeed, those who do not believe in the verses of Allah - Allah will not guide them, and for them is a painful punishment.

جھوٹ افترا تو وہی باندھتے ہیں جنہیں اللہ تعالٰی کی آیتوں پر ایمان نہیں ہوتا ۔ یہی لوگ جھوٹے ہیں ۔

They only invent falsehood who do not believe in the verses of Allah , and it is those who are the liars.

یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے دنیا کی زندگی کو آخرت سے زیادہ محبوب رکھا یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی کافر لوگوں کو راہ راست نہیں دکھاتا ۔

That is because they preferred the worldly life over the Hereafter and that Allah does not guide the disbelieving people.

کچھ شک نہیں کہ یہی لوگ آخرت میں سخت نقصان اُٹھانے والے ہیں ۔

Assuredly, it is they, in the Hereafter, who will be the losers.

جس دن ہر شخص اپنی ذات کے لئے لڑتا جھگڑتا آئے اور ہر شخص کو اس کے کئے ہوئے اعمال کا پورا بدلہ دیا جائے گا اور لوگوں پر ( مطلقاً ) ظلم نہ کیا جائے گا ۔

On the Day when every soul will come disputing for itself, and every soul will be fully compensated for what it did, and they will not be wronged.

کسی چیز کو اپنی زبان سے جھوٹ موٹ نہ کہہ دیا کرو کہ یہ حلال ہے اور یہ حرام ہے کہ اللہ پر جھوٹ بہتان باندھ لو ، سمجھ لو کہ اللہ تعالٰی پر بہتان بازی کرنے والے کامیابی سے محروم ہی رہتے ہیں ۔

And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah . Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.

اور یہ کہ جو لوگ آخرت پر یقین نہیں رکھتے ان کے لئے ہم نے دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے ۔

And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter - We have prepared for them a painful punishment.

اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور کو معبود نہ ٹھہرا کہ آخرش تو برے حالوں بے کس ہو کر بیٹھ رہے گا ۔

Do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity and [thereby] become censured and forsaken.

تو جب قرآن پڑھتا ہے ہم تیرے اور ان لوگوں کے درمیان جو آخرت پر یقین نہیں رکھتے ایک پوشیدہ حجاب ڈال دیتے ہیں ۔

And when you recite the Qur'an, We put between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter a concealed partition.

تو کیا تم اس سے بے خوف ہوگئے ہو کہ تمہیں خشکی کی طرف ( لے جا کر زمین ) میں دھنسا دے یا تم پر پتھروں کی آندھی بھیج دے پھر تم اپنے لئے کسی نگہبان کو نہ پا سکو ۔

Then do you feel secure that [instead] He will not cause a part of the land to swallow you or send against you a storm of stones? Then you would not find for yourselves an advocate.

کیا تم اس بات سے بے خوف ہوگئے ہو کہ اللہ تعالٰی پھر تمہیں دوبارہ دریا کے سفر میں لے آئے اور تم پر تیز و تند ہواؤں کے جھونکے بھیج دے اور تمہارے کفر کے باعث تمہیں ڈبو دے ۔ پھر تم اپنے لئے ہم پر اس کا دعویٰ ( پیچھا ) کرنے والا کسی کو نہ پاؤ گے ۔

Or do you feel secure that He will not send you back into the sea another time and send upon you a hurricane of wind and drown you for what you denied? Then you would not find for yourselves against Us an avenger.

پھر تو ہم بھی آپ کو دوہرا عذاب دنیا کا کرتے اور دوہرا ہی موت کا پھر آپ تو اپنے لئے ہمارے مقابلے میں کسی کو مددگار بھی نہ پاتے ۔

Then [if you had], We would have made you taste double [punishment in] life and double [after] death. Then you would not find for yourself against Us a helper.

اور اگر ہم چاہیں تو جو وحی آپ کی طرف ہم نے اتاری ہے سلب کرلیں پھر آپ کو اس کے لئے ہمارے مقابلے میں کوئی حمایتی میسر نہ آسکے ۔

And if We willed, We could surely do away with that which We revealed to you. Then you would not find for yourself concerning it an advocate against Us.

کہہ دیجئے کہ اگر تمام انسان اور کل جنات مل کر اس قرآن کے مثل لانا چاہیں تو ان سب سے اس کے مثل لانا ناممکن ہے گو وہ ( آپس میں ) ایک دوسرے کے مددگار بھی بن جائیں ۔

Say, "If mankind and the jinn gathered in order to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like of it, even if they were to each other assistants."

کہہ دیجئے! تم اس پر ایمان لاؤ یا نہ لاؤ ، جنہیں اس سے پہلے علم دیا گیا ہے ان کے پاس تو جب بھی اس کی تلاوت کی جاتی ہے تو وہ ٹھوڑیوں کے بل سجدہ میں گر پڑتے ہیں ۔

Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration,

ہم نے اس طرح لوگوں کو ان کے حال سے آگاہ کر دیا کہ وہ جان لیں کہ اللہ کا وعدہ بالکل سچا ہے اور قیامت میں کوئی شک و شبہ نہیں جبکہ وہ اپنے امر میں آپس میں اختلاف کر رہے تھے کہنے لگے ان کے غار پر ایک عمارت بنالو اور ان کا رب ہی ان کے حال کا زیادہ عالم ہے جن لوگوں نے ان کے بارے میں غلبہ پایا وہ کہنے لگے کہ ہم تو ان کے آس پاس مسجد بنالیں گے ۔

And similarly, We caused them to be found that they [who found them] would know that the promise of Allah is truth and that of the Hour there is no doubt. [That was] when they disputed among themselves about their affair and [then] said, "Construct over them a structure. Their Lord is most knowing about them." Said those who prevailed in the matter, "We will surely take [for ourselves] over them a masjid."

تیری جانب جو تیرے رب کی کتاب وحی کی گئی ہے اسے پڑھتا رہ اس کی باتوں کو کوئی بدلنے والا نہیں تو اس کے سوا ہرگز ہرگز کوئی پناہ کی جگہ نہ پائے گا ۔

And recite, [O Muhammad], what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord. There is no changer of His words, and never will you find in other than Him a refuge.

یقیناً جو لوگ ایمان لائیں اور نیک اعمال کریں تو ہم کسی نیک عمل کرنے والے کا ثواب ضائع نہیں کرتے ۔

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - indeed, We will not allow to be lost the reward of any who did well in deeds.

تو نے اپنے باغ میں جاتے وقت کیوں نہ کہا کہ اللہ کا چاہا ہونے والا ہے ، کوئی طاقت نہیں مگر اللہ کی مدد سے اگر تو مجھے مال و اولاد میں اپنے سے کم دیکھ رہا ہے ۔

And why did you, when you entered your garden, not say, 'What Allah willed [has occurred]; there is no power except in Allah '? Although you see me less than you in wealth and children,

اور نامہ اعمال سامنے رکھ دیئے جائیں گے ۔ پس تو دیکھے گا گنہگار اس کی تحریر سے خوفزدہ ہو رہے ہونگے اور کہہ رہے ہونگے ہائے ہماری خرابی یہ کیسی کتاب ہے جس نے کوئی چھوٹا بڑا بغیر گھیرے کے باقی ہی نہیں چھوڑا ، اور جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا تھا سب موجود پائیں گے اور تیرا رب کسی پر ظلم و ستم نہ کرے گا ۔

And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?" And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one.

موسٰی نے جواب دیا کہ میری بھول پر مجھے نہ پکڑیئے اور مجھے اپنے کام میں تنگی میں نہ ڈالیئے ۔

[Moses] said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot and do not cover me in my matter with difficulty."

جن کی آنکھیں میری یاد سے پردے میں تھیں اور ( امر حق ) سن بھی نہیں سکتے تھے ۔

Those whose eyes had been within a cover [removed] from My remembrance, and they were not able to hear.

جہاں وہ ہمیشہ رہا کریں گے جس جگہ کو بدلنے کا کبھی بھی ان کا ارادہ ہی نہ ہوگا ۔

Wherein they abide eternally. They will not desire from it any transfer.

تو انہیں اس رنج و افسوس کے دن کا ڈر سنا دے جبکہ کام انجام کو پہنچا دیا جائے گا اور یہ لوگ غفلت اور بے ایمانی میں ہی رہ جائیں گے ۔

And warn them, [O Muhammad], of the Day of Regret, when the matter will be concluded; and [yet], they are in [a state of] heedlessness, and they do not believe.
