الفاظ ( لَهُمْ )

ان کے لئے تو استغفار کر یا نہ کر ۔ اگر تو ستر مرتبہ بھی ان کے لئے استغفار کرے تو بھی اللہ انہیں ہرگز نہ بخشے گا یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے اللہ سے اور اس کے رسول سے کفر کیا ہے ایسے فاسق لوگوں کو رب کریم ہدایت نہیں دیتا ۔

Ask forgiveness for them, [O Muhammad], or do not ask forgiveness for them. If you should ask forgiveness for them seventy times - never will Allah forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

ان کے لئے تو استغفار کر یا نہ کر ۔ اگر تو ستر مرتبہ بھی ان کے لئے استغفار کرے تو بھی اللہ انہیں ہرگز نہ بخشے گا یہ اس لئے کہ انہوں نے اللہ سے اور اس کے رسول سے کفر کیا ہے ایسے فاسق لوگوں کو رب کریم ہدایت نہیں دیتا ۔

Ask forgiveness for them, [O Muhammad], or do not ask forgiveness for them. If you should ask forgiveness for them seventy times - never will Allah forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and Allah does not guide the defiantly disobedient people.

انہی کے لئے اللہ نے وہ جنتیں تیار کی ہیں جن کے نیچے نہریں جاری ہیں جن میں یہ ہمیشہ رہنے والے ہیں ۔ یہی بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے ۔

Allah has prepared for them gardens beneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide eternally. That is the great attainment.

بادیہ نشینوں میں سے عذر والے لوگ حاضر ہوئے کہ انہیں رخصت دے دی جائے اور وہ بیٹھ رہے جنہوں نے اللہ سے اور اس کے رسول سے جھوٹی باتیں بنائی تھیں ۔ اب تو ان میں جتنے کفار ہیں انہیں دکھ دینے والی مار پہنچ کر رہے گی ۔

And those with excuses among the bedouins came to be permitted [to remain], and they who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat [at home]. There will strike those who disbelieved among them a painful punishment.

سوائے ان کے جو صبر کرتے ہیں اور نیک کاموں میں لگے رہتے ہیں ۔ انہیں لوگوں کے لئے بخشش بھی ہے اور بہت بڑا نیک بدلہ بھی ۔

Except for those who are patient and do righteous deeds; those will have forgiveness and great reward.

ہاں یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جن کے لئے آخرت میں سوائے آگ کے اور کچھ نہیں اور جو کچھ انہوں نے یہاں کیا ہوگا وہاں سب اکارت ہے اور جو کچھ ان کے اعمال تھے سب برباد ہونے والے ہیں ۔

Those are the ones for whom there is not in the Hereafter but the Fire. And lost is what they did therein, and worthless is what they used to do.

نہ یہ لوگ دنیا میں اللہ کو ہراسکے اور نہ ان کا کوئی حمائتی اللہ کے سوا ہوا ، ان کے لئے عذاب دگنا کیا جائے گا نہ یہ سننے کی طاقت رکھتے تھے اور نہ دیکھتے ہی تھے ۔

Those were not causing failure [to Allah ] on earth, nor did they have besides Allah any protectors. For them the punishment will be multiplied. They were not able to hear, nor did they see.

لیکن جو بدبخت ہوئے وہ دوزخ میں ہونگے وہاں چیخیں گے چلائیں گے ۔

As for those who were [destined to be] wretched, they will be in the Fire. For them therein is [violent] exhaling and inhaling.

پھر ان تمام نشانیوں کے دیکھ لینے کے بعد بھی انہیں یہی مصلحت معلوم ہوئی کہ یوسف کو کچھ مدت کے لئے قید خانہ میں رکھیں ۔

Then it appeared to them after they had seen the signs that al-'Azeez should surely imprison him for a time.

انہوں نے کہا اگر اس نے چوری کی ( تو کوئی تعجب کی بات نہیں ) اس کا بھائی بھی پہلے چوری کر چکا ہے یوسف ( علیہ السلام ) نے اس بات کو اپنے دل میں رکھ لیا اور ان کے سامنے بالکل ظاہر نہ کیا ۔ کہا کہ تم بدتر جگہ میں ہو اور جو تم بیان کرتے ہو اسے اللہ ہی خوب جانتا ہے ۔

They said, "If he steals - a brother of his has stolen before." But Joseph kept it within himself and did not reveal it to them. He said, "You are worse in position, and Allah is most knowing of what you describe."

اس کے پہرے دار انسان کے آگےپیچھے مقرر ہیں ، جو اللہ کے حکم سے اس کی نگہبانی کرتے ہیں ۔ کسی قوم کی حالت اللہ تعالٰی نہیں بدلتا جب تک کہ وہ خود اسے نہ بدلیں جو ان کے دلوں میں ہے اللہ تعالٰی جب کسی قوم کی سزا کا ارادہ کر لیتا ہے تو وہ بدلہ نہیں کرتا اور سوائے اس کے کوئی بھی ان کا کارساز نہیں ۔

For each one are successive [angels] before and behind him who protect him by the decree of Allah . Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. And when Allah intends for a people ill, there is no repelling it. And there is not for them besides Him any patron.

اسی کو پکارنا حق ہے ، جو لوگ اوروں کو اس کے سوا پکارتے ہیں وہ ان ( کی پکار ) کا کچھ بھی جواب نہیں دیتے مگر جیسے کوئی شخص اپنے دونوں ہاتھ پانی کی طرف پھیلائے ہوئے ہو کہ اس کے منہ میں پڑ جائے حالانکہ وہ پانی اس کے منہ میں پہنچنے والا نہیں ان منکروں کی جتنی پکار ہے سب گمراہی میں ہے ۔

To Him [alone] is the supplication of truth. And those they call upon besides Him do not respond to them with a thing, except as one who stretches his hands toward water [from afar, calling it] to reach his mouth, but it will not reach it [thus]. And the supplication of the disbelievers is not but in error [i.e. futility].

جن لوگوں نے اپنے رب کے حکم کی بجاآوری کی ان کے لئے بھلائی ہے اور جن لوگوں نے اس کی حکم کی برداری نہ کی اگر ان کے لئے زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب کچھ ہو اور اسی کے ساتھ ویسا ہی اور بھی ہو تو وہ سب کچھ اپنے بدلے میں دے دیں ۔ یہی ہیں جن کے لئے برا حساب ہے اور جن کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہے جو بہت بری جگہ ہے ۔

For those who have responded to their Lord is the best [reward], but those who did not respond to Him - if they had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby. Those will have the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.

جن لوگوں نے اپنے رب کے حکم کی بجاآوری کی ان کے لئے بھلائی ہے اور جن لوگوں نے اس کی حکم کی برداری نہ کی اگر ان کے لئے زمین میں جو کچھ ہے سب کچھ ہو اور اسی کے ساتھ ویسا ہی اور بھی ہو تو وہ سب کچھ اپنے بدلے میں دے دیں ۔ یہی ہیں جن کے لئے برا حساب ہے اور جن کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہے جو بہت بری جگہ ہے ۔

For those who have responded to their Lord is the best [reward], but those who did not respond to Him - if they had all that is in the earth entirely and the like of it with it, they would [attempt to] ransom themselves thereby. Those will have the worst account, and their refuge is Hell, and wretched is the resting place.

اور وہ اپنے رب کی رضامندی کی طلب کے لئے صبر کرتے ہیں اور نمازوں کو برابر قائم رکھتے ہیں اور جو کچھ ہم نے انہیں دے رکھا ہے اسے چھپے کھلے خرچ کرتے ہیں اور برائی کو بھی بھلائی سے ٹالتے ہیں ان ہی کے لئے عاقبت کا گھر ہے ۔

And those who are patient, seeking the countenance of their Lord, and establish prayer and spend from what We have provided for them secretly and publicly and prevent evil with good - those will have the good consequence of [this] home -

جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور جنہوں نے نیک کام بھی کئے ان کے لئے خوشحالی ہے اور بہترین ٹھکانا ۔

Those who have believed and done righteous deeds - a good state is theirs and a good return.

ان کے لئے دنیا کی زندگی میں عذاب ہے اور آخرت کا عذاب تو بہت ہی زیادہ سخت ہے انہیں اللہ کے غضب سے بچانے والا کوئی بھی نہیں ۔

For them will be punishment in the life of [this] world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they will not have from Allah any protector.

ان کے لئے دنیا کی زندگی میں عذاب ہے اور آخرت کا عذاب تو بہت ہی زیادہ سخت ہے انہیں اللہ کے غضب سے بچانے والا کوئی بھی نہیں ۔

For them will be punishment in the life of [this] world, and the punishment of the Hereafter is more severe. And they will not have from Allah any protector.

ہم آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسول بھیج چکے ہیں اور ہم نے ان سب کو بیوی بچوں والا بنایا تھا کسی رسول سے نہیں ہو سکتا کہ کوئی نشانی بغیر اللہ کی اجازت کے لے آئے ہر مقررہ وعدے کی ایک لکھت ہے ۔

And We have already sent messengers before you and assigned to them wives and descendants. And it was not for a messenger to come with a sign except by permission of Allah . For every term is a decree.

ہم نے ہر ہر نبی کو اس کی قومی زبان میں ہی بھیجا ہے تاکہ ان کے سامنے وضاحت سے بیان کر دے اب اللہ جسے چاہے گمراہ کر دے اور جسے چاہے راہ دکھا دے ، وہ غلبہ اور حکمت والا ہے ۔

And We did not send any messenger except [speaking] in the language of his people to state clearly for them, and Allah sends astray [thereby] whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

ان کے پیغمبروں نے ان سے کہا کہ یہ تو سچ ہے کہ ہم تم جیسے ہی انسان ہیں لیکن اللہ تعالٰی اپنے بندوں میں سے جس پر چاہتا ہے اپنا فضل کرتا ہے اللہ کے حکم کے بغیر ہماری مجال نہیں کہ ہم کوئی معجزہ تمہیں لا دکھائیں اور ایمان والوں کو صرف اللہ تعالٰی ہی پر بھروسہ رکھنا چاہیئے ۔

Their messengers said to them, "We are only men like you, but Allah confers favor upon whom He wills of His servants. It has never been for us to bring you evidence except by permission of Allah . And upon Allah let the believers rely.

جب اور کام کا فیصلہ کر دیا جائے گا شیطان توکہے گا کہ اللہ نے تو تمہیں سچا وعدہ دیا تھا اور میں نے تم سے جو وعدے کئے تھے ان کے خلاف کیا میرا تو تم پر کوئی دباؤ تو تھا نہیں ہاں میں نے تمہیں پکارا اور تم نے میری مان لی ، پس تم مجھے الزام نہ لگاؤ بلکہ خود اپنے آپ کو ملامت کرو نہ میں تمہارا فریاد رس اور نہ تم میری فریاد کو پہنچنے والے میں تو سرے سے مانتا ہی نہیں کہ تم مجھے اس سے پہلے اللہ کا شریک مانتے رہے یقیناً ظالموں کے لئے دردناک عذاب ہے ۔

And Satan will say when the matter has been concluded, "Indeed, Allah had promised you the promise of truth. And I promised you, but I betrayed you. But I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me; but blame yourselves. I cannot be called to your aid, nor can you be called to my aid. Indeed, I deny your association of me [with Allah ] before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers is a painful punishment."

۔ ( شیطان نے ) کہا اے میرے رب! چونکہ تو نے مجھے گمراہ کیا ہے مجھے بھی قسم ہے کہ میں بھی زمین میں ان کے لئے معاصی کو مزین کروں گا اور ان سب کو بہکاؤں گا بھی ۔

[Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all

ان سے جب دریافت کیا جاتا ہے کہ تمہارے پروردگار نے کیا نازل فرمایا ہے؟ تو جواب دیتے ہیں کہ اگلوں کی کہانیاں ہیں ۔

And when it is said to them, "What has your Lord sent down?" They say, "Legends of the former peoples,"

ہمیشگی والے باغات جہاں وہ جائیں گے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہہ رہی ہیں ، جو کچھ یہ طلب کریں گے وہاں ان کے لئے موجود ہوگا ۔ پرہیزگاروں کو اللہ تعالٰی اسی طرح بدلے عطا فرماتا ہے ۔

Gardens of perpetual residence, which they will enter, beneath which rivers flow. They will have therein whatever they wish. Thus does Allah reward the righteous -

گو آپ ان کی ہدایت کے خواہشمند رہے ہیں لیکن اللہ تعالٰی اسے ہدایت نہیں دیتا جسے گمراہ کردے اور نہ ان کا کوئی مددگار ہوتا ہے ۔

[Even] if you should strive for their guidance, [O Muhammad], indeed, Allah does not guide those He sends astray, and they will have no helpers.

اور وہ اللہ تعالٰی کے سوا ان کی عبادت کرتے ہیں جو آسمانوں اور زمین سے انہیں کچھ بھی تو روزی نہیں دے سکتے اور نہ قدرت رکھتے ہیں ۔

And they worship besides Allah that which does not possess for them [the power of] provision from the heavens and the earth at all, and [in fact], they are unable.

یقیناً یہ قرآن وہ راستہ دکھاتا ہے جو بہت ہی سیدھا ہے اور ایمان والوں کو جو نیک اعمال کرتے ہیں اس بات کی خوشخبری دیتا ہے کہ ان کے لئے بہت بڑا اجر ہے ۔

Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.

اور یہ کہ جو لوگ آخرت پر یقین نہیں رکھتے ان کے لئے ہم نے دردناک عذاب تیار کر رکھا ہے ۔

And that those who do not believe in the Hereafter - We have prepared for them a painful punishment.

اللہ جس کی رہنمائی کرے وہ تو ہدایت یافتہ ہے اور جسے وہ راہ سے بھٹکا دے ناممکن ہے کہ تو اس کا مددگار اس کے سوا کسی اور کو پائے ، ایسے لوگوں کا ہم بروز قیامت اوندھے منہ حشر کریں گے ، درآں حالیکہ وہ اندھے گونگے اور بہرے ہونگے ان کا ٹھکانا جہنم ہوگا جب کبھی وہ بجھنے لگے گی ہم ان پر اسے اور بھڑکا دیں گے ۔

And whoever Allah guides - he is the [rightly] guided; and whoever He sends astray - you will never find for them protectors besides Him, and We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection [fallen] on their faces - blind, dumb and deaf. Their refuge is Hell; every time it subsides We increase them in blazing fire.

کیا انہوں نے اس بات پر نظر نہیں کی کہ جس اللہ نے آسمان و زمین کو پیدا کیا وہ ان جیسوں کی پیدائش پر پورا قادر ہے اسی نے ان کے لئے ایک ایسا وقت مقرر کر رکھا ہے جو شک و شبہ سے یکسر خالی ہے ، لیکن ظالم لوگ انکار کئے بغیر رہتے ہی نہیں ۔

Do they not see that Allah , who created the heavens and earth, is [the one] Able to create the likes of them? And He has appointed for them a term, about which there is no doubt. But the wrongdoers refuse [anything] except disbelief.

بلکہ ہر طرح سے ٹھیک ٹھاک رکھا تاکہ اپنے پاس کی سخت سزا سے ہوشیار کر دے اور ایمان لانے اور نیک عمل کرنے والوں کو خوشخبریاں سنادے کہ ان کے لئے بہترین بدلہ ہے ۔

[He has made it] straight, to warn of severe punishment from Him and to give good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a good reward

در حقیقت نہ تو خود انہیں اس کا علم ہے نہ ان کے باپ دادوں کو ۔ یہ تہمت بڑی بری ہے جو ان کے منہ سے نکل رہی ہے وہ نرا جھوٹ بک رہے ہیں ۔

They have no knowledge of it, nor had their fathers. Grave is the word that comes out of their mouths; they speak not except a lie.

آپ کہہ دیں اللہ ہی کو ان کے ٹھہرے رہنے کی مدت کا بخوبی علم ہے ، آسمانوں اور زمینوں کا غیب صرف اسی کو حاصل ہے وہ کیا ہی اچھا دیکھنے سننے والا ہے سوائے اللہ کے ان کا کوئی مددگار نہیں ، اللہ تعالٰی اپنے حکم میں کسی کو شریک نہیں کرتا ۔

Say, " Allah is most knowing of how long they remained. He has [knowledge of] the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. How Seeing is He and how Hearing! They have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His legislation with anyone."

ان کے لئے ہمیشگی والی جنتیں ہیں ، ان کے نیچے سے نہریں جاری ہونگی ، وہاں یہ سونے کے کنگن پہنائے جائیں گے اور سبز رنگ کے نرم و باریک اور موٹے ریشم کے لباس پہنیں گے وہاں تختوں کے اوپر تکیے لگائے ہوئے ہوں گے ۔ کیا خوب بدلہ ہے ، اور کس قدر عمدہ آرام گاہ ہے ۔

Those will have gardens of perpetual residence; beneath them rivers will flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold and will wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on adorned couches. Excellent is the reward, and good is the resting place.

اور انہیں ان دو شخصوں کی مثال بھی سنا دے جن میں سے ایک کو ہم نے دو باغ انگوروں کے دے رکھے تھے اور جنہیں کھجوروں کے درختوں سے ہم نے گھیر رکھا تھا اور دونوں کے درمیان کھیتی لگا رکھی تھی ۔

And present to them an example of two men: We granted to one of them two gardens of grapevines, and We bordered them with palm trees and placed between them [fields of] crops.

ان کے سامنے دنیا کی زندگی کی مثال ( بھی ) بیان کرو جیسے پانی جسے ہم آسمان سے اتارتے ہیں اور اس سے زمین کا سبزہ ملا جلا ( نکلا ) ہے ، پھر آخرکار وہ چورا چورا ہو جاتا ہے جسے ہوائیں اڑائے لیئے پھرتی ہیں ۔ اللہ تعالٰی ہرچیز پر قادر ہے ۔

And present to them the example of the life of this world, [its being] like rain which We send down from the sky, and the vegetation of the earth mingles with it and [then] it becomes dry remnants, scattered by the winds. And Allah is ever, over all things, Perfect in Ability.

اور جس دن وہ فرمائے گا کہ تمہارے خیال میں جو میرے شریک تھے انہیں پکارو! یہ پکاریں گے لیکن ان میں سے کوئی بھی جواب نہ دے گا ہم ان کے درمیان ہلاکت کا سامان کر دیں گے ۔

And [warn of] the Day when He will say, "Call 'My partners' whom you claimed," and they will invoke them, but they will not respond to them. And We will put between them [a valley of] destruction.

یہی وہ لوگ ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے پروردگار کی آیتوں اور اس کی ملاقات سے کفر کیا اس لئے ان کے اعمال غارت ہوگئے پس قیامت کے دن ہم ان کا کوئی وزن قائم نہ کریں گے ۔

Those are the ones who disbelieve in the verses of their Lord and in [their] meeting Him, so their deeds have become worthless; and We will not assign to them on the Day of Resurrection any importance.

جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور انہوں نے کام بھی اچھے کئے یقیناً ان کے لئے الفردوس کے باغات کی مہمانی ہے ۔

Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds - they will have the Gardens of Paradise as a lodging,

اور ان سب کو ہم نے اپنی بہت سی رحمتیں عطا فرمائیں اور ہم نے ان کے ذکر جمیل کو بلند درجے کا کر دیا ۔

And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor.

اور ان سب کو ہم نے اپنی بہت سی رحمتیں عطا فرمائیں اور ہم نے ان کے ذکر جمیل کو بلند درجے کا کر دیا ۔

And We gave them of Our mercy, and we made for them a reputation of high honor.

انہوں نے اللہ کے سوا دوسرے معبود بنا رکھے ہیں کہ وہ ان کے لئے باعث عزت ہوں ۔

And they have taken besides Allah [false] deities that they would be for them [a source of] honor.

تو ان کے بارے میں جلدی نہ کر ، ہم تو خود ہی ان کے لئے مدت شماری کر رہے ہیں ۔

So be not impatient over them. We only count out to them a [limited] number.

ہم نے ان سے پہلے بہت سی جماعتیں تباہ کر دی ہیں کیا ان میں سے ایک کی بھی آہٹ تو پاتا ہے یا ان کی آواز کی بھنک بھی تیرے کان میں پڑتی ہے؟

And how many have We destroyed before them of generations? Do you perceive of them anyone or hear from them a sound?

موسٰی ( علیہ السلام ) نے ان سےکہا تمہاری شامت آچکی ، اللہ تعالٰی پر جھوٹ اور افتراء نہ باندھو کہ وہ تمہیں عذابوں سے ملیامیٹ کردے ، یاد رکھو وہ کبھی کامیاب نہ ہوگا جس نے جھوٹی بات گھڑی ۔

Moses said to the magicians summoned by Pharaoh, "Woe to you! Do not invent a lie against Allah or He will exterminate you with a punishment; and he has failed who invents [such falsehood]."

ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کی طرف وحی نازل فرمائی کہ تو راتوں رات میرے بندوں کو لے چل اور ان کے لئے دریا میں خشک راستہ بنالے پھر نہ تجھے کسی کے آپکڑنے کا خطرہ ہوگا نہ ڈر ۔

And We had inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning]."

پھر اس نے لوگوں کے لئے ایک بچھڑا نکال کھڑا کیا یعنی بچھڑے کا بت ، جس کی گائے کی سی آواز بھی تھی پھر کہنے لگے کہ یہی تمہارا بھی معبود ہے اور موسیٰ کا بھی ۔ لیکن موسیٰ بھول گیا ہے ۔

And he extracted for them [the statue of] a calf which had a lowing sound, and they said, "This is your god and the god of Moses, but he forgot."

کیا یہ گمراہ لوگ یہ بھی نہیں دیکھتے کہ وہ تو ان کی بات کا جواب بھی نہیں دے سکتا اور نہ ان کے کسی برے بھلے کا اختیار رکھتا ہے ۔

Did they not see that it could not return to them any speech and that it did not possess for them any harm or benefit?

اور ہارون ( علیہ السلام ) نے اس سے پہلے ہی ان سے کہہ دیا تھا اے میری قوم والو! اس بچھڑے سے تو صرف تمہاری آزمائش کی گئی ہے ، تمہارا حقیقی پروردگار تو اللہ رحمٰن ہی ہے ، پس تم سب میری تابعداری کرو ۔ اور میری بات مانتے چلے جاؤ ۔

And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order."
