الفاظ ( عَنْ )

اُس دن سے ڈرتے رہو جب کوئی کسی کو نفع نہ دے سکے گا اور نہ ہی اسکی بابت کوئی سفارش قبول ہوگی اور نہ کوئی بدلہ اس کے عوض لیا جائے گا اور نہ مدد کئے جائیں گے ۔

And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, nor will intercession be accepted from it, nor will compensation be taken from it, nor will they be aided.

ہم نے آپ کو حق کے ساتھ خوشخبری دینے والا اور ڈرانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے اور جہنمیوں کے بارے میں آپ سے پرسش نہیں ہوگی ۔

Indeed, We have sent you, [O Muhammad], with the truth as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, and you will not be asked about the companions of Hellfire.

اُس دن سے ڈرو جس دن کوئی نفس کسی نفس کو کچھ فائدہ نہ پہنچا سکے گا ، نہ کسی شخص سے کوئی فدیہ قبول کیا جائے گا نہ اسے کوئی شفاعت نفع دے گی نہ ان کی مدد کی جائے گی ۔

And fear a Day when no soul will suffice for another soul at all, and no compensation will be accepted from it, nor will any intercession benefit it, nor will they be aided.

دین ابراہیمی سے وہ ہی بے رغبتی کرے گا جو محض بیوقوف ہو ، ہم نے تو اسے دنیا میں بھی برگزیدہ کیا تھا اور آخرت میں بھی وہ نیکو کاروں میں سے ہے ۔

And who would be averse to the religion of Abraham except one who makes a fool of himself. And We had chosen him in this world, and indeed he, in the Hereafter, will be among the righteous.

عنقریب نادان لوگ کہیں گے کہ جس قبلہ پر یہ تھے اس سے انہیں کس چیز نے ہٹایا؟ آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ مشرق اور مغرب کا مالک اللہ تعالٰی ہی ہے وہ جسے چاہے سیدھی راہ کی ہدایت کر دے ۔

The foolish among the people will say, "What has turned them away from their qiblah, which they used to face?" Say, "To Allah belongs the east and the west. He guides whom He wills to a straight path."

لوگ آپ سے حرمت والے مہینوں میں لڑائی کی بابت سوال کرتے ہیں ، آپ کہہ دیجیئے کہ ان میں لڑائی کرنا بڑاگناہ ہے ، لیکن اللہ کی راہ سے روکنا اس کے ساتھ کفر کرنا اور مسجد حرام سے روکنا اور وہاں کے رہنے والوں کو وہاں سے نکالنا ، اللہ کے نزدیک اس سے بھی بڑا گناہ ہے یہ فتنہ قتل سے بھی بڑا گناہ ہے یہ لوگ تم سے لڑائی بھڑائی کرتے ہی رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ اگر ان سے ہو سکے تو تمہیں تمہارے دین سے مرتد کر دیں اور تم میں سے جو لوگ اپنے دین سے پلٹ جائیں اور اسی کفر کی حالت میں مریں ، ان کے اعمال دنیاوی اور اخروی سب غارت ہوجائیں گے ۔ یہ لوگ جہنمی ہوں گے اور ہمیشہ ہمیشہ جہنم میں ہی رہیں گے ۔

They ask you about the sacred month - about fighting therein. Say, "Fighting therein is great [sin], but averting [people] from the way of Allah and disbelief in Him and [preventing access to] al-Masjid al-Haram and the expulsion of its people therefrom are greater [evil] in the sight of Allah . And fitnah is greater than killing." And they will continue to fight you until they turn you back from your religion if they are able. And whoever of you reverts from his religion [to disbelief] and dies while he is a disbeliever - for those, their deeds have become worthless in this world and the Hereafter, and those are the companions of the Fire, they will abide therein eternally.

لوگ آپ سے حرمت والے مہینوں میں لڑائی کی بابت سوال کرتے ہیں ، آپ کہہ دیجیئے کہ ان میں لڑائی کرنا بڑاگناہ ہے ، لیکن اللہ کی راہ سے روکنا اس کے ساتھ کفر کرنا اور مسجد حرام سے روکنا اور وہاں کے رہنے والوں کو وہاں سے نکالنا ، اللہ کے نزدیک اس سے بھی بڑا گناہ ہے یہ فتنہ قتل سے بھی بڑا گناہ ہے یہ لوگ تم سے لڑائی بھڑائی کرتے ہی رہیں گے یہاں تک کہ اگر ان سے ہو سکے تو تمہیں تمہارے دین سے مرتد کر دیں اور تم میں سے جو لوگ اپنے دین سے پلٹ جائیں اور اسی کفر کی حالت میں مریں ، ان کے اعمال دنیاوی اور اخروی سب غارت ہوجائیں گے ۔ یہ لوگ جہنمی ہوں گے اور ہمیشہ ہمیشہ جہنم میں ہی رہیں گے ۔

مائیں اپنی اولاد کو دو سال کامل دودھ پلائیں جن کا ارادہ دودھ پلانے کی مدت بالکل پوری کرنے کا ہو اور جن کے بچے ہیں ان کے ذمہ ان کا روٹی کپڑا ہے جو مطابق دستور کے ہو ہر شخص اتنی ہی تکلیف دیا جاتا ہے جتنی اس کی طاقت ہو ماں کو اس کے بچے کی وجہ سے یا باپ کو اس کی اولاد کی وجہ سے کوئی ضرر نہ پہنچایا جائے وارث پر بھی اسی جیسی ذمہ داری ہے ، پھر اگر دونوں ( یعنی ماں باپ ) اپنی رضامندی اور باہمی مشورے سے دودھ چُھڑانا چاہیں تو دونوں پر کچھ گناہ نہیں اور اگر تمہارا ارادہ اپنی اولاد کو دودھ پلوانے کا ہو تو بھی تم پر کوئی گناہ نہیں جب کہ تم ان کو مطابق دستور کے جو دینا ہو وہ ان کے حوالے کر دو اللہ تعالٰی سے ڈرتے رہو اور جانتے رہو کہ اللہ تعالٰی تمہارے اعمال کی دیکھ بھال کر رہا ہے ۔

Mothers may breastfeed their children two complete years for whoever wishes to complete the nursing [period]. Upon the father is the mothers' provision and their clothing according to what is acceptable. No person is charged with more than his capacity. No mother should be harmed through her child, and no father through his child. And upon the [father's] heir is [a duty] like that [of the father]. And if they both desire weaning through mutual consent from both of them and consultation, there is no blame upon either of them. And if you wish to have your children nursed by a substitute, there is no blame upon you as long as you give payment according to what is acceptable. And fear Allah and know that Allah is Seeing of what you do.

ان اہلِ کتاب سے کہو کہ تم اللہ تعالٰی کی راہ سے لوگوں کو کیوں روکتے ہو؟ اور اس میں عیب ٹٹولتے ہو ، حالانکہ تم خود شاہد ہو ، اللہ تعالٰی تمہارے اعمال سے بے خبر نہیں ۔

Say, "O People of the Scripture, why do you avert from the way of Allah those who believe, seeking to make it [seem] deviant, while you are witnesses [to the truth]? And Allah is not unaware of what you do."

یہ وہ لوگ ہیں جو خود بھی بیٹھے رہے اور اپنے بھائیوں کی بابت کہا کہ اگر وہ بھی ہماری بات مان لیتے تو قتل نہ کئے جاتے ۔ کہہ دیجئے! کہ اگر تم سچے ہو تو اپنی جانوں سے موت کو ہٹا دو ۔

Those who said about their brothers while sitting [at home], "If they had obeyed us, they would not have been killed." Say, "Then prevent death from yourselves, if you should be truthful."

اور عورتوں کو ان کے مہر راضی خوشی دے دو ، ہاں اگر وہ خود اپنی خوشی سے کچھ مہر چھوڑ دیں تو اسے شوق سے خوش ہو کر کھالو ۔

And give the women [upon marriage] their [bridal] gifts graciously. But if they give up willingly to you anything of it, then take it in satisfaction and ease.

اے ایمان والو! اپنے آپس کے مال ناجائز طریقہ سے مت کھاؤ ، مگر یہ کہ تمہاری آپس کی رضامندی سے ہو خرید وفروخت ، اور اپنے آپ کو قتل نہ کرو یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی تم پر نہایت مہربان ہے ۔

O you who have believed, do not consume one another's wealth unjustly but only [in lawful] business by mutual consent. And do not kill yourselves [or one another]. Indeed, Allah is to you ever Merciful.

بعض یہود کلمات کو ان کی ٹھیک جگہ سے ہیر پھیر کر دیتے ہیں اور کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے سنا اور نافرمانی کی اور سُن اس کے بغیر کہ تُو سنا جائے اور ہماری رعایت کر ! ( لیکن اس کہنے میں ) اپنی زبان کو پیچ دیتے ہیں اور دین میں طعنہ دیتے ہیں اور اگر یہ لوگ کہتے کہ ہم نے سُنا اور ہم نے فرمانبرداری کی اور آپ سُنئے اور ہمیں دیکھئے تو یہ ان کے لئے بہت بہتر اور نہایت ہی مناسب تھا لیکن اللہ تعالٰی نے ان کے کُفر کی وجہ سے انہیں لعنت کی ہے ۔ پس یہ بہت ہی کم ایمان لاتے ہیں

Among the Jews are those who distort words from their [proper] usages and say, "We hear and disobey" and "Hear but be not heard" and "Ra'ina," twisting their tongues and defaming the religion. And if they had said [instead], "We hear and obey" and "Wait for us [to understand]," it would have been better for them and more suitable. But Allah has cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, except for a few.

جب تم ان میں ہو اور ان کے لئے نماز کھڑی کرو تو چائیے کہ ان کی ایک جماعت تمہارے ساتھ اپنے ہتھیار لئے کھڑی ہو پھر جب یہ سجدہ کر چکیں تو یہ ہٹ کر تمہارے پیچھے آ جائیں اور وہ دوسری جماعت جس نے نماز نہیں پڑھی وہ آ جائے اور تیرے ساتھ نماز ادا کرے اور اپنا بچاؤ اور اپنے ہتھیار لئے رہے کافر چاہتے ہیں کہ کسی طرح تم اپنے ہتھیاروں اور اپنے سامان سے بے خبر ہو جاؤ تو وہ تم پر اچانک دھاوا بول دیں ہاں اپنے ہتھیار اتار رکھنے میں اُس وقت تم پر کوئی گناہ نہیں جب کہ تمہیں تکلیف ہو یا بوجہ بارش کے یا بسبب بیمار ہو جانے کے اور اپنے بچاؤ کی چیزیں ساتھ لئے رہو- یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی نے منکروں کے لئے ذلت کی مار تیار کر رکھی ہے ۔

And when you are among them and lead them in prayer, let a group of them stand [in prayer] with you and let them carry their arms. And when they have prostrated, let them be [in position] behind you and have the other group come forward which has not [yet] prayed and let them pray with you, taking precaution and carrying their arms. Those who disbelieve wish that you would neglect your weapons and your baggage so they could come down upon you in one [single] attack. But there is no blame upon you, if you are troubled by rain or are ill, for putting down your arms, but take precaution. Indeed, Allah has prepared for the disbelievers a humiliating punishment.

اگر تم کسی نیکی کو اعلانیہ کرو یا پوشیدہ ، کسی برائی سے درگزر کرو ، پس یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی پوری معافی کرنے والا اور پوری قدرت والا ہے ۔

If [instead] you show [some] good or conceal it or pardon an offense - indeed, Allah is ever Pardoning and Competent.

آپ سے یہ اہل کتاب درخواست کرتے ہیں کہ آپ ان کے پاس کوئی آسمانی کتاب لائیں ، حضرت موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) سے توانہوں نے اس سے بہت بڑی درخواست کی تھی کہ ہمیں کھلم کھلا اللہ تعالٰی کو دکھا دے پس ان کے اس ظلم کے باعث ان پر کڑاکے کی بجلی آپڑی پھر باوجودیکہ ان کے پاس بہت دلیلیں پہنچ چکی تھیں انہوں نے بچھڑے کو اپنا معبود بنا لیا ، لیکن ہم نے یہ بھی معاف فرما دیا اور ہم نے موسیٰ کو کھلا غلبہ ( اور صریح دلیل ) عنایت فرمائی ۔

The People of the Scripture ask you to bring down to them a book from the heaven. But they had asked of Moses [even] greater than that and said, "Show us Allah outright," so the thunderbolt struck them for their wrongdoing. Then they took the calf [for worship] after clear evidences had come to them, and We pardoned that. And We gave Moses a clear authority.

جو نفیس چیزیں ان کے لئے حلال کی گئی تھیں وہ ہم نے ان پر حرام کر دیں ان کے ظلم کے باعث اور اللہ تعالٰی کی راہ سے اکثر لوگوں کو روکنے کے باعث

For wrongdoing on the part of the Jews, We made unlawful for them [certain] good foods which had been lawful to them, and for their averting from the way of Allah many [people],

جن لوگوں نے کفر کیا اور اللہ تعالٰی کی راہ سے اوروں کو روکا وہ یقیناً گمراہی میں دور نکل گئے ۔

Indeed, those who disbelieve and avert [people] from the way of Allah have certainly gone far astray.

مسیح ( علیہ السلام ) کو اللہ کا بندہ ہونے میں کوئی ننگ و عار یا تکبر و انکار ہرگز ہو ہی نہیں سکتا اور نہ مقرب فرشتوں کو اس کی بندگی سے جو بھی دل چرائے اور تکبر و انکار کرے اللہ تعالٰی ان سب کو اکٹھا اپنی طرف جمع کرے گا ۔

Never would the Messiah disdain to be a servant of Allah , nor would the angels near [to Him]. And whoever disdains His worship and is arrogant - He will gather them to Himself all together.

پھر ان کی عہد شکنی کی وجہ سے ہم نے ان پر اپنی لعنت نازل فرما دی اور ان کے دل سخت کر دیئے کہ وہ کلام کو اسکی جگہ سے بدل ڈالتے ہیں اور جو کچھ نصیحت انہیں کی گئی تھی اس کا بہت بڑا حصہ بھلا بیٹھے ان کی ایک نہ ایک خیانت پر تجھے اطلاع ملتی رہے گی ہاں تھوڑے سے ایسے نہیں بھی ہیں پس تو انہیں معاف کرتا جا اور درگزر کرتا رہ بیشک اللہ تعالٰی احسان کرنے والوں سے محبت کرتا ہے ۔

So for their breaking of the covenant We cursed them and made their hearts hard. They distort words from their [proper] usages and have forgotten a portion of that of which they were reminded. And you will still observe deceit among them, except a few of them. But pardon them and overlook [their misdeeds]. Indeed, Allah loves the doers of good.

اے اہل کتاب! یقینًا تمہارے پاس ہمارا رسول ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) آچکا جو تمہارے سامنے کتاب اللہ کی بکثرت ایسی باتیں ظاہر کر رہا ہے جنہیں تم چھپا رہے تھے اور بہت سی باتوں سے درگزر کرتا ہے ، تمہارے پاس اللہ تعالٰی کی طرف سے نور اور واضح کتاب آچکی ہے ۔

O People of the Scripture, there has come to you Our Messenger making clear to you much of what you used to conceal of the Scripture and overlooking much. There has come to you from Allah a light and a clear Book.

اے ایمان والو! تم میں سے جو شخص اپنے دین سے پھر جائے تو اللہ تعالٰی بہت جلد ایسی قوم کو لائے گا جو اللہ کی محبوب ہوگی اور وہ بھی اللہ سے محبت رکھتی ہوگی وہ نرم دل ہوں گے مسلمانوں پر اور سخت اور تیز ہو ں گے کفار پر ، اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کریں گے اور کسی ملامت کرنے والے کی ملامت کی پرواہ بھی نہ کریں گے یہ ہے اللہ تعالٰی کا فضل جسے چاہے دے ، اللہ تعالٰی بڑی وسعت والا اور زبردست علم والا ہے ۔

O you who have believed, whoever of you should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah ; He bestows it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.

کہہ دیجئے کہ کیا میں تمہیں بتاؤں؟ کہ اس سے بھی زیادہ برے اجر پانے والا اللہ تعالٰی کے نزدیک کون ہے؟ وہ جس پر اللہ تعالٰی نے لعنت کی اور اس پر وہ غصہ ہو اور ان میں سے بعض کو بندر اور سور بنا دیا اور جنہوں نے معبودان باطل کی پرستش کی ، یہی لوگ بدتر درجے والے ہیں اور یہی راہ راست سے بہت زیادہ بھٹکنے والے ہیں ۔

Say, "Shall I inform you of [what is] worse than that as penalty from Allah ? [It is that of] those whom Allah has cursed and with whom He became angry and made of them apes and pigs and slaves of Taghut. Those are worse in position and further astray from the sound way."

انہیں ان کے عابد و عالم جھوٹ باتوں کے کہنے اور حرام چیزوں کے کھانے سے کیوں نہیں روکتے بے شک برا کام ہے جو یہ کر رہے ہیں ۔

Why do the rabbis and religious scholars not forbid them from saying what is sinful and devouring what is unlawful? How wretched is what they have been practicing.

کہہ دیجئے اے اہل کتاب! اپنے دین میں ناحق غلو اور زیادتی نہ کرو اور ان لوگوں کی نفسانی خواہشوں کی پیروی نہ کرو جو پہلے سے بہک چکے ہیں اور بہتوں کو بہکا بھی چکے ہیں اور سیدھی راہ سے ہٹ گئے ہیں ۔

Say, "O People of the Scripture, do not exceed limits in your religion beyond the truth and do not follow the inclinations of a people who had gone astray before and misled many and have strayed from the soundness of the way."

آپس میں ایک دوسرے کو برے کاموں سے جو وہ کرتے تھے روکتے نہ تھے جو کچھ بھی یہ کرتے تھے یقیناً وہ بہت برا تھا ۔

They used not to prevent one another from wrongdoing that they did. How wretched was that which they were doing.

شیطان تو یوں چاہتا ہے کہ شراب اور جوئے کہ ذریعے سے تمہارے آپس میں عداوت اور بغض واقع کرا دے اور اللہ تعالٰی کی یاد سے اور نماز سے تم کو باز رکھے سو اب بھی باز آجاؤ ۔

Satan only wants to cause between you animosity and hatred through intoxicants and gambling and to avert you from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. So will you not desist?

اے ایمان والو! ایسی باتیں مت پوچھو کہ اگر تم پر ظاہر کر دی جائیں تو تمہیں ناگوار ہوں اور اگر تم زمانہ نزول قرآن میں ان باتوں کو پوچھو گے تو تم پر ظاہر کر دی جائیں گی سوالات گزشتہ اللہ نے معاف کر دیئے اور اللہ بڑی مغفرت والا بڑے حلم والا ہے ۔

O you who have believed, do not ask about things which, if they are shown to you, will distress you. But if you ask about them while the Qur'an is being revealed, they will be shown to you. Allah has pardoned that which is past; and Allah is Forgiving and Forbearing.

اور اس شخص سے زیادہ کون ظالم ہوگا جو اللہ تعالٰی پر جھوٹ تہمت لگائے یا یوں کہے کہ مجھ پر وحی آتی ہے حالانکہ اس کے پاس کسی بات کی بھی وحی نہیں آئی اور جو شخص یوں کہے کہ جیسا کلام اللہ نے نازل کیا ہے اسی طرح کا میں بھی لاتا ہوں اور اگر آپ اس وقت دیکھیں جب کہ یہ ظالم لوگ موت کی سختیوں میں ہونگے اور فرشتے اپنے ہاتھ بڑھا رہے ہونگے کہ ہاں اپنی جانیں نکالو ، آج تم کو ذلت کی سزا دی جائے گی اس سبب سے کہ تم اللہ تعالٰی کے ذمہ جھوٹی باتیں لگاتے تھے اور تم اللہ تعالٰی کی آیات سے تکبر کرتے تھے ۔

And who is more unjust than one who invents a lie about Allah or says, "It has been inspired to me," while nothing has been inspired to him, and one who says, "I will reveal [something] like what Allah revealed." And if you could but see when the wrongdoers are in the overwhelming pangs of death while the angels extend their hands, [saying], "Discharge your souls! Today you will be awarded the punishment of [extreme] humiliation for what you used to say against Allah other than the truth and [that] you were, toward His verses, being arrogant."

اور دنیا میں زیادہ لوگ ایسے ہیں کہ اگر آپ ان کا کہنا ماننے لگیں تو وہ آپ کو اللہ کی راہ سے بے راہ کر دیں وہ محض بے اصل خیالات پر چلتے ہیں اور بالکل قیاسی باتیں کرتے ہیں ۔

And if you obey most of those upon the earth, they will mislead you from the way of Allah . They follow not except assumption, and they are not but falsifying.

بالیقین آپ کا رب ان کو خوب جانتا ہے اور جو اس کی راہ سے بے راہ ہو جاتا ہے ۔ اور وہ ان کو بھی خوب جانتا ہے جو اس کی راہ پر چلتے ہیں ۔

Indeed, your Lord is most knowing of who strays from His way, and He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.

اور یہ کہ یہ دین میرا راستہ ہے جو مستقیم ہے سو اس راہ پر چلو اور دوسری راہوں پر مت چلو کہ وہ راہیں تم کو اللہ کی راہ سے جدا کردیں گی ۔ اس کا تم کو اللہ تعالٰی نے تاکیدی حکم دیا ہے تاکہ تم پر ہیز گاری اختیار کرو ۔

And, [moreover], this is My path, which is straight, so follow it; and do not follow [other] ways, for you will be separated from His way. This has He instructed you that you may become righteous.

کہیں تم لوگ یوں نہ کہو کہ کتاب تو صرف ہم سے پہلے جو دو فرقے تھے ان پر نازل ہوئی تھی اور ہم ان کے پڑھنے پڑھانے سے محض بے خبر تھے

[We revealed it] lest you say, "The Scripture was only sent down to two groups before us, but we were of their study unaware,"

یا یوں نہ کہو کہ اگر ہم پر کوئی کتاب نازل ہوتی تو ہم ان سے بھی زیادہ راہ راست پر ہوتے ۔ سو اب تمہارے پاس تمہارے رب کے پاس سے ایک کتاب واضح اور رہنمائی کا ذریعہ اور رحمت آچکی ہے اب اس شخص سے زیادہ ظالم کون ہوگا جو ہماری ان آیتوں کو جھوٹا بتائے اور اس سے روکے ہم جلد ہی ان لوگوں کو جو کہ ہماری آیتوں سے روکتے ہیں ان کے اس روکنے کے سبب سخت سزا دیں گے ۔

Or lest you say, "If only the Scripture had been revealed to us, we would have been better guided than they." So there has [now] come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and mercy. Then who is more unjust than one who denies the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our verses with the worst of punishment for their having turned away.

پھر شیطان نے ان دونوں کے دلوں میں وسوسہ ڈالا تاکہ ان کی شرمگاہیں جو ایک دوسرے سے پوشیدہ تھیں دونوں کے روبرو بے پردہ کردے اور کہنے لگا کہ تمہارے رب نے تم دونوں کو اس درخت سے اور کسی سبب سے منع نہیں فرمایا مگر محض اس وجہ سے کہ تم دونوں کہیں فرشتے ہو جاؤ یا کہیں ہمیشہ زندہ رہنے والوں میں سے ہو جاؤ ۔

But Satan whispered to them to make apparent to them that which was concealed from them of their private parts. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you this tree except that you become angels or become of the immortal."

سو ان دونوں کو فریب سے نیچے لے آیا پس ان دونوں نے جب درخت کو چکھا دونوں کی شرمگاہیں ایک دوسرے کے روبرو بے پردہ ہوگئیں اور دونوں اپنے اوپر جنت کے پتے جوڑ جوڑ کر رکھنے لگے اور ان کے رب نے ان کو پکارا کیا میں تم دونوں کو اس درخت سے منع نہ کر چکا تھا اور یہ نہ کہہ چکا کہ شیطان تمہارا صریح دشمن ہے ،

So he made them fall, through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their private parts became apparent to them, and they began to fasten together over themselves from the leaves of Paradise. And their Lord called to them, "Did I not forbid you from that tree and tell you that Satan is to you a clear enemy?"

جو اللہ کی راہ سے اعراض کرتے تھے اور اس میں کجی تلاش کرتے تھے وہ لوگ آخرت کے بھی منکر تھے ۔

Who averted [people] from the way of Allah and sought to make it [seem] deviant while they were, concerning the Hereafter, disbelievers.

پس انہوں نے اس اونٹنی کو مار ڈالا اور اپنے پروردگار کے حکم سے سرکشی کی اور کہنے لگے کہ اے صالح! جس کی آپ ہم کو دھمکی دیتے تھے اس کو منگوائیے اگر آپ پیغمبر ہیں ۔

So they hamstrung the she-camel and were insolent toward the command of their Lord and said, "O Salih, bring us what you promise us, if you should be of the messengers."

اور تم سڑکوں پر اس غرض سے مت بیٹھا کرو کہ اللہ پر ایمان لانے والوں کو دھمکیاں دو اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکو اور اس میں کجی کی تلاش میں لگے رہو اور اس حالت کو یاد کرو جب تم کم تھے پھر اللہ نے تم کو زیادہ کر دیا اور دیکھو کہ کیسا انجام ہوا فساد کرنے والوں کا ۔

And do not sit on every path, threatening and averting from the way of Allah those who believe in Him, seeking to make it [seem] deviant. And remember when you were few and He increased you. And see how was the end of the corrupters.

میں ایسے لوگوں کو اپنے احکام سے برگشتہ ہی رکھوں گا جو دنیا میں تکبر کرتے ہیں ، جس کا ان کو کوئی حق حاصل نہیں اور اگر تمام نشانیاں دیکھ لیں تب بھی وہ ان پر ایمان نہ لائیں اور اگر ہدایت کا راستہ دیکھیں تو اس کو اپنا طریقہ نہ بنائیں اور اگر گمراہی کا راستہ دیکھ لیں تو اس کو اپنا طریقہ بنالیں یہ اس سبب سے ہے کہ انہوں نے ہماری آیتوں کو جھٹلایا اور ان سے غافل رہے ۔

I will turn away from My signs those who are arrogant upon the earth without right; and if they should see every sign, they will not believe in it. And if they see the way of consciousness, they will not adopt it as a way; but if they see the way of error, they will adopt it as a way. That is because they have denied Our signs and they were heedless of them.

اور جب موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کا غصہ فرو ہوا تو ان تختیوں کو اٹھا لیا اور ان کے مضامین میں ان لوگوں کے لئے جو اپنے رب سے ڈرتے تھے ہدایت اور رحمت تھی ۔

And when the anger subsided in Moses, he took up the tablets; and in their inscription was guidance and mercy for those who are fearful of their Lord.

یعنی جب وہ ، جس کام سے ان کو منع کیا گیا تھا اس میں حد سے نکل گئے تو ہم نے ان کو کہہ دیا تم ذلیل بندر بن جاؤ ۔

So when they were insolent about that which they had been forbidden, We said to them, "Be apes, despised."

اور جب آپ کے رب نے اولاد آدم کی پشت سے ان کی اولاد کو نکالا اور ان سے ان ہی کے متعلق اقرار لیا کہ کیا میں تمہارا رب نہیں ہوں؟ سب نے جواب دیا کیوں نہیں! ہم سب گواہ بنتے ہیں ۔ تاکہ تم لوگ قیامت کے روز یوں نہ کہو کہ ہم تو اس سے محض بے خبر تھے ۔

And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." [This] - lest you should say on the day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were of this unaware."

یقیناً جو تیرے رب کے نزدیک ہیں وہ اس کی عبادت سے تکبر نہیں کرتے اور اس کی پاکی بیان کرتے ہیں اور اس کو سجدہ کرتے ہیں ۔

Indeed, those who are near your Lord are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, and they exalt Him, and to Him they prostrate.

بلا شک یہ کافر لوگ اپنے مالوں کو اس لئے خرچ کر رہے ہیں کہ اللہ کی راہ سے روکیں سو یہ لوگ تو اپنے مالوں کو خرچ کرتے ہی رہیں گے پھر وہ مال ان کے حق میں باعث حسرت ہوجائیں گے پھر مغلوب ہوجائیں گے اور کافر لوگوں کو دوزخ کی طرف جمع کیا جائے گا ۔

Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved - unto Hell they will be gathered.

ان لوگوں جیسے نہ بنو جو اتراتے ہوئے اور لوگوں میں خود نمائی کرتے ہوئے اپنے گھروں سے چلے اور اللہ کی راہ سے روکتے تھے جو کچھ وہ کر رہے ہیں اللہ اسے گھیر لینے والا ہے ۔

And do not be like those who came forth from their homes insolently and to be seen by people and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And Allah is encompassing of what they do.

انہوں نے اللہ کی آیتوں کو بہت کم قیمت پر بیچ دیا اور اس کی راہ سے روکا بہت برا ہے جو یہ کر رہے ہیں ۔

They have exchanged the signs of Allah for a small price and averted [people] from His way. Indeed, it was evil that they were doing.

ان لوگوں سے لڑو جو اللہ پر اور قیامت کے دن پر ایمان نہیں لاتے جو اللہ اور اس کے رسول کی حرام کردہ شے کو حرام نہیں جانتے نہ دین حق کو قبول کرتے ہیں ان لوگوں میں سے جنہیں کتاب دی گئی ہے یہاں تک کہ وہ ذلیل و خوار ہو کر اپنے ہاتھ سے جزیہ ادا کریں ۔

Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture - [fight] until they give the jizyah willingly while they are humbled.

اے ایمان والو! اکثر علماء اور عابد لوگوں کا مال ناحق کھا جاتے ہیں اور اللہ کی راہ سے روک دیتے ہیں اور جو لوگ سونے چاندی کا خزانہ رکھتے ہیں اور اللہ کی راہ میں خرچ نہیں کرتے انہیں دردناک عذاب کی خبر پہنچا دیجئے ۔

O you who have believed, indeed many of the scholars and the monks devour the wealth of people unjustly and avert [them] from the way of Allah . And those who hoard gold and silver and spend it not in the way of Allah - give them tidings of a painful punishment.
