الفاظ ( وَلَا )

اور تم اپنی قسموں کو آپس کی دغابازی کا بہانہ نہ بناؤ ۔ پھر تو تمہارے قدم اپنی مضبوطی کے بعد ڈگمگا جائیں گے اور تمہیں سخت سزا برداشت کرنا پڑے گی کیونکہ تم نے اللہ کی راہ سے روک دیا اور تمہیں سخت عذاب ہوگا ۔

And do not take your oaths as [means of] deceit between you, lest a foot slip after it was [once] firm, and you would taste evil [in this world] for what [people] you diverted from the way of Allah , and you would have [in the Hereafter] a great punishment.

تم اللہ کے عہد کو تھوڑے مول کے بدلے نہ بیچ دیا کرو ۔ یاد رکھو اللہ کے پاس کی چیز ہی تمہارے لئے بہتر ہے بشرطیکہ تم میں علم ہو ۔

And do not exchange the covenant of Allah for a small price. Indeed, what is with Allah is best for you, if only you could know.

کسی چیز کو اپنی زبان سے جھوٹ موٹ نہ کہہ دیا کرو کہ یہ حلال ہے اور یہ حرام ہے کہ اللہ پر جھوٹ بہتان باندھ لو ، سمجھ لو کہ اللہ تعالٰی پر بہتان بازی کرنے والے کامیابی سے محروم ہی رہتے ہیں ۔

And do not say about what your tongues assert of untruth, "This is lawful and this is unlawful," to invent falsehood about Allah . Indeed, those who invent falsehood about Allah will not succeed.

آپ صبر کریں بغیر توفیق الٰہی کے آپ صبر کر ہی نہیں سکتے اور ان کے حال پر رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور جو مکرو فریب یہ کرتے رہتے ہیں ان سے تنگ دل نہ ہوں ۔

And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah . And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

آپ صبر کریں بغیر توفیق الٰہی کے آپ صبر کر ہی نہیں سکتے اور ان کے حال پر رنجیدہ نہ ہوں اور جو مکرو فریب یہ کرتے رہتے ہیں ان سے تنگ دل نہ ہوں ۔

And be patient, [O Muhammad], and your patience is not but through Allah . And do not grieve over them and do not be in distress over what they conspire.

جو راہ راست حاصل کر لے وہ خود اپنے ہی بھلے کے لئے راہ یافتہ ہوتا ہے اور جو بھٹک جائے اس کا بوجھ اسی کے اوپر ہے ، کوئی بوجھ والا کسی اور کا بوجھ اپنے اوپر نہ لادے گا اور ہماری سنت نہیں کہ رسول بھیجنے سے پہلے ہی عذاب کرنے لگیں ۔

Whoever is guided is only guided for [the benefit of] his soul. And whoever errs only errs against it. And no bearer of burdens will bear the burden of another. And never would We punish until We sent a messenger.

اور رشتے داروں کا اور مسکینوں اور مسافروں کا حق ادا کرتے رہو اور اسراف اور بے جا خرچ سے بچو ۔

And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully.

اپنا ہاتھ اپنی گردن سے بندھا ہوا نہ رکھ اور نہ اسے بالکل ہی کھول دے کہ پھر ملامت کیا ہوا درماندہ بیٹھ جائے ۔

And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.

اپنا ہاتھ اپنی گردن سے بندھا ہوا نہ رکھ اور نہ اسے بالکل ہی کھول دے کہ پھر ملامت کیا ہوا درماندہ بیٹھ جائے ۔

And do not make your hand [as] chained to your neck or extend it completely and [thereby] become blamed and insolvent.

اور مفلسی کے خوف سے اپنی اولاد کو نہ مار ڈالو ان کو اور تم کو ہم ہی روزی دیتے ہیں ۔ یقیناً ان کا قتل کرنا کبیرہ گناہ ہے ۔

And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.

خبردار زنا کے قریب بھی نہ پھٹکنا کیونکہ وہ بڑی بے حیائی ہے اور بہت ہی بری راہ ہے ۔

And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way.

اور کسی جان کو جس کا مارنا اللہ نے حرام کر دیا ہے ہرگز ناحق قتل نہ کرنا اور جو شخص مظلوم ہونے کی صورت میں مار ڈالا جائے ہم نے اس کے وارث کو طاقت دے رکھی ہے کہ پس اسے چاہیے کہ مار ڈالنے میں زیادتی نہ کرے بیشک وہ مدد کیا گیا ہے ۔

And do not kill the soul which Allah has forbidden, except by right. And whoever is killed unjustly - We have given his heir authority, but let him not exceed limits in [the matter of] taking life. Indeed, he has been supported [by the law].

اور یتیم کے مال کے قریب بھی نہ جاؤ بجز اس طریقہ کے جو بہت ہی بہتر ہو ، یہاں تک کہ وہ اپنی بلوغت کو پہنچ جائے اور وعدے پورے کرو کیونکہ قول و قرار کی باز پرس ہونے والی ہے ۔

And do not approach the property of an orphan, except in the way that is best, until he reaches maturity. And fulfill [every] commitment. Indeed, the commitment is ever [that about which one will be] questioned.

جس بات کی تجھے خبر ہی نہ ہو اس کے پیچھے مت پڑ کیونکہ کان اور آنکھ اور دل ان میں سے ہر ایک سے پوچھ گچھ کی جانے والی ہے ۔

And do not pursue that of which you have no knowledge. Indeed, the hearing, the sight and the heart - about all those [one] will be questioned.

اور زمین میں اکڑ کر نہ چل کہ نہ تو زمین کو پھاڑ سکتا ہے اور نہ لمبائی میں پہاڑوں کو پہنچ سکتا ہے ۔

And do not walk upon the earth exultantly. Indeed, you will never tear the earth [apart], and you will never reach the mountains in height.

یہ بھی منجملہ اس وحی کے ہے جو تیری جانب تیرے رب نے حکمت سے اتاری ہے تو اللہ کے ساتھ کسی اور کو معبود نہ بنانا کہ ملامت خوردہ اور راندہ ٔدرگاہ ہو کر دوزخ میں ڈال دیا جائے ۔

That is from what your Lord has revealed to you, [O Muhammad], of wisdom. And, [O mankind], do not make [as equal] with Allah another deity, lest you be thrown into Hell, blamed and banished.

کہہ دیجئے کہ اللہ کے سوا جنہیں تم معبود سمجھ رہے ہو انہیں پکارو لیکن نہ تو وہ تم سے کسی تکلیف کو دور کر سکتے ہیں اور نہ بدل سکتے ہیں ۔

Say, "Invoke those you have claimed [as gods] besides Him, for they do not possess the [ability for] removal of adversity from you or [for its] transfer [to someone else]."

جس دن ہم ہر جماعت کو اس کے پیشوا سمیت بلائیں گے ۔ پھر جن کا بھی اعمال نامہ دائیں ہاتھ میں دے دیا گیا وہ تو شوق سے اپنا نامۂ اعمال پڑھنے لگیں گے اور دھاگے کے برابر ( ذرہ برابر ) بھی ظلم نہ کئے جائیں گے ۔

[Mention, O Muhammad], the Day We will call forth every people with their record [of deeds]. Then whoever is given his record in his right hand - those will read their records, and injustice will not be done to them, [even] as much as a thread [inside the date seed].

ایسا ہی دستور ان کا تھا جو آپ سے پہلے رسول ہم نے بھیجے اور آپ ہمارے دستور میں کبھی ردو بدل نہ پائیں گے ۔

[That is Our] established way for those We had sent before you of Our messengers; and you will not find in Our way any alteration.

یہ قرآن جو ہم نازل کر رہے ہیں مومنوں کے لئے تو سراسر شفا اور رحمت ہے ۔ ہاں ظالموں کو بجز نقصان کے اور کوئی زیادتی نہیں ہوتی ۔

And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss.

کہہ دیجئے کہ اللہ کو اللہ کہہ کر پکارو یا رحمٰن کہہ کر ، جس نام سے بھی پکارو تمام اچھے نام اسی کے ہیں نہ تو تو اپنی نماز بہت بلند آواز سے پڑھ اور نہ بالکل پوشیدہ بلکہ اس کے درمیان کا راستہ تلاش کر لے ۔

Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.

کہہ دیجئے کہ اللہ کو اللہ کہہ کر پکارو یا رحمٰن کہہ کر ، جس نام سے بھی پکارو تمام اچھے نام اسی کے ہیں نہ تو تو اپنی نماز بہت بلند آواز سے پڑھ اور نہ بالکل پوشیدہ بلکہ اس کے درمیان کا راستہ تلاش کر لے ۔

Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.

اسی طرح ہم نے انہیں جگا کر اٹھا دیا کہ آپس میں پوچھ گچھ کرلیں ۔ ایک کہنے والے نے کہا کہ کیوں بھئی تم کتنی دیر ٹھہرے رہے؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا کہ ایک دن یا ایک دن سے بھی کم کہنے لگے کہ تمہارے ٹھہرے رہنے کا بخوبی علم اللہ تعالٰی ہی کو ہے ۔ اب توتم اپنے میں سے کسی کو اپنی یہ چاندی دے کر شہر بھیجو وہ خوب دیکھ بھال لے کہ شہر کا کونسا کھانا پاکیزہ تر ہے پھر اسی میں سے تمہارے کھانے کے لئے لے آئے ، اور وہ بہت احتیاط اور نرمی برتے اور کسی کو تمہاری خبر نہ ہونے دے ۔

And similarly, We awakened them that they might question one another. Said a speaker from among them, "How long have you remained [here]?" They said, "We have remained a day or part of a day." They said, "Your Lord is most knowing of how long you remained. So send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city and let him look to which is the best of food and bring you provision from it and let him be cautious. And let no one be aware of you.

اور ہرگز ہرگز کسی کام پر یوں نہ کہنا کہ میں اسے کل کروں گا ۔

And never say of anything, "Indeed, I will do that tomorrow,"

اور اپنے آپ کو انہیں کے ساتھ رکھا کر جو اپنے پروردگار کو صبح شام پکارتے ہیں اور اسی کے چہرے کے ارادے رکھتے ہیں ( رضا مندی چاہتے ہیں ) ، خبردار! تیری نگاہیں ان سے نہ ہٹنے پائیں کہ دنیاوی زندگی کے ٹھاٹھ کے ارادے میں لگ جا ۔ دیکھ اس کا کہنا نہ ماننا جس کے دل کو ہم نے اپنے ذکر سےغافل کر دیا ہے اور جو اپنی خواہش کے پیچھے پڑا ہوا ہے اور جس کا کام حد سے گزر چکا ہے ۔

And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. And let not your eyes pass beyond them, desiring adornments of the worldly life, and do not obey one whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance and who follows his desire and whose affair is ever [in] neglect.

اور اپنے آپ کو انہیں کے ساتھ رکھا کر جو اپنے پروردگار کو صبح شام پکارتے ہیں اور اسی کے چہرے کے ارادے رکھتے ہیں ( رضا مندی چاہتے ہیں ) ، خبردار! تیری نگاہیں ان سے نہ ہٹنے پائیں کہ دنیاوی زندگی کے ٹھاٹھ کے ارادے میں لگ جا ۔ دیکھ اس کا کہنا نہ ماننا جس کے دل کو ہم نے اپنے ذکر سےغافل کر دیا ہے اور جو اپنی خواہش کے پیچھے پڑا ہوا ہے اور جس کا کام حد سے گزر چکا ہے ۔

And keep yourself patient [by being] with those who call upon their Lord in the morning and the evening, seeking His countenance. اور نامہ اعمال سامنے رکھ دیئے جائیں گے ۔ پس تو دیکھے گا گنہگار اس کی تحریر سے خوفزدہ ہو رہے ہونگے اور کہہ رہے ہونگے ہائے ہماری خرابی یہ کیسی کتاب ہے جس نے کوئی چھوٹا بڑا بغیر گھیرے کے باقی ہی نہیں چھوڑا ، اور جو کچھ انہوں نے کیا تھا سب موجود پائیں گے اور تیرا رب کسی پر ظلم و ستم نہ کرے گا ۔

And the record [of deeds] will be placed [open], and you will see the criminals fearful of that within it, and they will say, "Oh, woe to us! What is this book that leaves nothing small or great except that it has enumerated it?" And they will find what they did present [before them]. And your Lord does injustice to no one.

میں نے انہیں آسمانوں و زمین کی پیدائش کے وقت موجود نہیں رکھا تھا اور نہ خود ان کی اپنی پیدائش میں اور میں گمراہ کرنے والوں کو اپنا مددگار بنانے والا بھی نہیں ۔

I did not make them witness to the creation of the heavens and the earth or to the creation of themselves, and I would not have taken the misguiders as assistants.

موسٰی نے جواب دیا کہ میری بھول پر مجھے نہ پکڑیئے اور مجھے اپنے کام میں تنگی میں نہ ڈالیئے ۔

[Moses] said, "Do not blame me for what I forgot and do not cover me in my matter with difficulty."

جب کہ انہوں نے اپنے باپ سے کہا کہ ابا جان! آپ ان کی پوجا پاٹ کیوں کر رہے ہیں جو نہ سنیں نہ دیکھیں؟ نہ آپ کو کچھ بھی فائدہ پہنچا سکیں ۔

[Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?

جب کہ انہوں نے اپنے باپ سے کہا کہ ابا جان! آپ ان کی پوجا پاٹ کیوں کر رہے ہیں جو نہ سنیں نہ دیکھیں؟ نہ آپ کو کچھ بھی فائدہ پہنچا سکیں ۔

[Mention] when he said to his father, "O my father, why do you worship that which does not hear and does not see and will not benefit you at all?

بجز ان کے جو توبہ کرلیں اور ایمان لائیں اور نیک عمل کریں ۔ ایسے لوگ جنت میں جائیں گے اور ان کی ذرا سی بھی حق تلفی نہ کی جائے گی ۔

Except those who repent, believe and do righteousness; for those will enter Paradise and will not be wronged at all.

فرمایا بے خوف ہو کر اسے پکڑ لے ، ہم اسے اسی پہلی سی صورت میں دوبارہ لادیں گے ۔

[ Allah ] said, "Seize it and fear not; We will return it to its former condition.

۔ ( یاد کر ) جبکہ تیری بہن چل رہی تھی اور کہہ رہی تھی کہ اگر تم کہو تو میں بتادوں جو اس کی نگہبانی کرے اس تدبیر سے ہم نے تجھے تیری ماں کے پاس پہنچایا کہ اس کی آنکھیں ٹھنڈی رہیں اور وہ غمگین نہ ہو ، اور تو نے ایک شخص کو مار ڈالا تھا اس پر بھی ہم نے تجھےغم سے بچا لیا ، غرض ہم نے تجھے اچھی طرح آزما لیا ۔ پھر تو کئی سال تک مدین کے لوگوں میں ٹھہرا رہا پھر تقدیر الٰہی کے مطابق اے موسٰی! تو آیا ۔

[And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses.

اب تو اپنے بھائی سمیت میری نشانیاں ہمراہ لئے ہوئے جا ، اور خبردار میرے ذکر میں سستی نہ کرنا ۔

Go, you and your brother, with My signs and do not slacken in My remembrance.

تم اس کے پاس جا کر کہو کہ ہم تیرے پروردگار کے پیغمبر ہیں تو ہمارے ساتھ بنی اسرائیل کو بھیج دے ، ان کی سزائیں موقوف کر ۔ ہم تو تیرے پاس تیرے رب کی طرف سے نشانی لے کر آئے ہیں اور سلامتی اسی کے لئے ہے جو ہدایت کا پابند ہو جائے ۔

So go to him and say, 'Indeed, we are messengers of your Lord, so send with us the Children of Israel and do not torment them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord. And peace will be upon he who follows the guidance.

جواب دیا کہ ان کا علم میرے رب کے ہاں کتاب میں موجود ہے ، نہ تو میرا رب غلطی کرتا ہے نہ بھولتا ہے ۔

[Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets."

اور تیرے دائیں ہاتھ میں جو ہے اسے ڈال دے کہ ان کی تمام کاریگری کو وہ نگل جائے ، انہوں نے جو کچھ بنایا ہے یہ صرف جادوگروں کے کرتب ہیں اور جادوگر کہیں سے بھی آئے کامیاب نہیں ہوتا ۔

And throw what is in your right hand; it will swallow up what they have crafted. What they have crafted is but the trick of a magician, and the magician will not succeed wherever he is."

بات یہی ہے کہ جو بھی گناہ گار بن کر اللہ تعالٰی کے ہاں حاضر ہوگا اس کے لئے دوزخ ہے ، جہاں نہ موت ہوگی اور نہ زندگی ۔

Indeed, whoever comes to his Lord as a criminal - indeed, for him is Hell; he will neither die therein nor live.

تم ہماری دی ہوئی پاکیزہ روزی کھاؤ ، اور اس میں حد سے آگے نہ بڑھو ورنہ تم پر میرا غضب نازل ہوگا ، اور جس پر میرا غضب نازل ہو جائے وہ یقیناً تباہ ہوا ۔

[Saying], "Eat from the good things with which We have provided you and do not transgress [or oppress others] therein, lest My anger should descend upon you. And he upon whom My anger descends has certainly fallen."

ہارون ( علیہ السلام ) نے کہا اے میرے ماں جائے بھائی! میری داڑھی نہ پکڑ اور سر کے بال نہ کھینچ ، مجھے تو صرف یہ خیال دامن گیر ہوا کہ کہیں آپ یہ ( نہ ) فرمائیں کہ تو نے بنی اسرائیل میں تفرقہ ڈال دیا اور میری بات کا انتظار نہ کیا ۔

[Aaron] said, "O son of my mother, do not seize [me] by my beard or by my head. Indeed, I feared that you would say, 'You caused division among the Children of Israel, and you did not observe [or await] my word.' "

جو کچھ ان کے آگے پیچھے ہے اسے اللہ ہی جانتا ہے مخلوق کا علم اس پر حاوی نہیں ہو سکتا ۔

Allah knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, but they do not encompass it in knowledge.

پس اللہ عالی شان والا سچا اور حقیقی بادشاہ ہے ۔ تو قرآن پڑھنے میں جلدی نہ کر اس سے پہلے کہ تیری طرف جو وحی کی جاتی ہے وہ پوری کی جائے ، ہاں یہ دعا کر کہ پروردگار میرا علم بڑھا ۔

So high [above all] is Allah , the Sovereign, the Truth. And, [O Muhammad], do not hasten with [recitation of] the Qur'an before its revelation is completed to you, and say, "My Lord, increase me in knowledge."

یہاں تو تجھے یہ آرام ہے کہ نہ تو بھوکا ہوتا ہے نہ ننگا ۔

Indeed, it is [promised] for you not to be hungry therein or be unclothed.

اور نہ تو یہاں پیاسا ہوتا ہے نہ دھوپ سے تکلیف اٹھاتا ہے ۔

And indeed, you will not be thirsty therein or be hot from the sun."

فرمایا تم دونوں یہاں سے اتر جاؤ تم آپس میں ایک دوسرے کے دشمن ہو ، اب تمہارے پاس جب کبھی میری طرف سے ہدایت پہنچے تو جومیری ہدایت کی پیروی کرے نہ تو وہ بہکے گا نہ تکلیف میں پڑے گا ۔

[ Allah ] said, "Descend from Paradise - all, [your descendants] being enemies to one another. And if there should come to you guidance from Me - then whoever follows My guidance will neither go astray [in the world] nor suffer [in the Hereafter].

اور اپنی نگاہیں ہرگز چیزوں کی طرف نہ دوڑانا جو ہم نے ان میں سے مختلف لوگوں کو آرائش دنیا کی دے رکھی ہیں تاکہ انہیں اس میں آزمالیں تیرے رب کا دیا ہوا ہی ( بہت ) بہتر اور بہت باقی رہنے والا ہے ۔

And do not extend your eyes toward that by which We have given enjoyment to [some] categories of them, [its being but] the splendor of worldly life by which We test them. And the provision of your Lord is better and more enduring.

آسمانوں اور زمین میں جو ہے اسی اللہ کا ہے اور جو اس کے پاس ہیں وہ اس کی عبادت سے نہ سرکشی کرتے ہیں اور نہ تھکتے ہیں ۔

To Him belongs whoever is in the heavens and the earth. And those near Him are not prevented by arrogance from His worship, nor do they tire.

وہ ان کے آگے پیچھے کے تمام امور سے واقف ہے وہ کسی کی بھی سفارش نہیں کرتے بجز ان کے جن سے اللہ خوش ہو وہ خود ہیبت الٰہی سے لرزاں و ترساں ہیں ۔

He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they cannot intercede except on behalf of one whom He approves. And they, from fear of Him, are apprehensive.

کاش! یہ کافر جانتے کہ اس وقت نہ تو یہ کافر آگ کو اپنے چہروں سے ہٹا سکیں گے اور نہ اپنی پیٹھوں سے اور نہ ان کی مدد کی جائے گی ۔

If those who disbelieved but knew the time when they will not avert the Fire from their faces or from their backs and they will not be aided...
