الفاظ ( وَلَقَدْ )

ہم نے اس قرآن میں ہر ہر طریقے سے تمام کی تمام مثالیں لوگوں کے لئے بیان کر دی ہیں لیکن انسان سب سے زیادہ جھگڑالو ہے ۔

And We have certainly diversified in this Qur'an for the people from every [kind of] example; but man has ever been, most of anything, [prone to] dispute.

ہم نے تو تجھ پر ایک بار اور بھی بڑا احسان کیا ہے ۔

And We had already conferred favor upon you another time,

ہم نے اسے اپنی سب نشانیاں دکھا دیں لیکن پھر بھی اس نے جھٹلایا اور انکار کر دیا ۔

And We certainly showed Pharaoh Our signs - all of them - but he denied and refused.

ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کی طرف وحی نازل فرمائی کہ تو راتوں رات میرے بندوں کو لے چل اور ان کے لئے دریا میں خشک راستہ بنالے پھر نہ تجھے کسی کے آپکڑنے کا خطرہ ہوگا نہ ڈر ۔

And We had inspired to Moses, "Travel by night with My servants and strike for them a dry path through the sea; you will not fear being overtaken [by Pharaoh] nor be afraid [of drowning]."

اور ہارون ( علیہ السلام ) نے اس سے پہلے ہی ان سے کہہ دیا تھا اے میری قوم والو! اس بچھڑے سے تو صرف تمہاری آزمائش کی گئی ہے ، تمہارا حقیقی پروردگار تو اللہ رحمٰن ہی ہے ، پس تم سب میری تابعداری کرو ۔ اور میری بات مانتے چلے جاؤ ۔

And Aaron had already told them before [the return of Moses], "O my people, you are only being tested by it, and indeed, your Lord is the Most Merciful, so follow me and obey my order."

ہم نے آدم کو پہلے ہی تاکیدی حکم دے دیا تھا لیکن وہ بھول گیا اور ہم نے اس میں کوئی عزم نہیں پایا ۔

And We had already taken a promise from Adam before, but he forgot; and We found not in him determination.

یہ بالکل سچ ہے کہ ہم نے موسیٰ و ہارون کو فیصلے کرنے والی نورانی اور پرہیزگاروں کے لئے وعظ و نصیحت والی کتاب عطا فرمائی ہے ۔

And We had already given Moses and Aaron the criterion and a light and a reminder for the righteous

ہم زبور میں پندو نصیحت کے بعد یہ لکھ چکے ہیں کہ زمین کے وارث میرے نیک بندے ( ہی ) ہونگے ۔

And We have already written in the book [of Psalms] after the [previous] mention that the land [of Paradise] is inherited by My righteous servants.

یقیناً ہم نے انسان کو مٹی کے جوہر سے پیدا کیا ۔

And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.

ہم نے تمہارے اوپر سات آسمان بنائے ہیں اور ہم مخلوقات سے غافل نہیں ہیں ۔

And We have created above you seven layered heavens, and never have We been of [Our] creation unaware.

یقیناً ہم نے نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کو اس کی قوم کی طرف رسول بنا کر بھیجا ، اس نے کہا کہ اے میری قوم کے لوگو! اللہ کی عبادت کرو اور اس کے سوا تمہارا کوئی معبود نہیں ، کیا تم ( اس سے ) نہیں ڈرتے ۔

And We had certainly sent Noah to his people, and he said, "O my people, worship Allah ; you have no deity other than Him; then will you not fear Him?"

ہم نے توموسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو کتاب ( بھی ) دی کہ لوگ راہ راست پر آجائیں ۔

And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture that perhaps they would be guided.

اور ہم نے انہیں عذاب میں بھی پکڑا تاہم یہ لوگ نہ تو اپنے پروردگار کے سامنے جھکے اور نہ ہی عاجزی اختیار کی ۔

And We had gripped them with suffering [as a warning], but they did not yield to their Lord, nor did they humbly supplicate, [and will continue thus]

ہم نے تمہاری طرف کھلی اور روشن آیتیں اتار دی ہیں اور ان لوگوں کی کہاوتیں جو تم سے پہلے گزر چکے ہیں اور پرہیزگاروں کے لئے نصیحت ۔

And We have certainly sent down to you distinct verses and examples from those who passed on before you and an admonition for those who fear Allah .

اور بلاشبہ ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی اور ان کے ہمراہ ان کے بھائی ہارون کو ان کا وزیر بنا دیا ۔

And We had certainly given Moses the Scripture and appointed with him his brother Aaron as an assistant.

یہ لوگ اس بستی کے پاس سے بھی آتے جاتے ہیں جن پر بری طرح کی بارش برسائی گئی کیا یہ پھر بھی اسے دیکھتے نہیں؟ حقیقت یہ ہے کہ انہیں مر کر جی اٹھنے کی امید ہی نہیں ۔

And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

اور بیشک ہم نے اسے ان کے درمیان طرح طرح سے بیان کیا تاکہ وہ نصیحت حاصل کریں ، مگر پھر بھی اکثر لوگوں نے سوائے ناشکری کے مانا نہیں ۔

And We have certainly distributed it among them that they might be reminded, but most of the people refuse except disbelief.

اور ہم نے یقیناًداؤد اور سلیمان کو علم دے رکھا تھا اور دونوں نے کہا ، تعریف اس اللہ کے لئے ہے جس نے ہمیں اپنے بہت سے ایمان دار بندوں پر فضیلت عطا فرمائی ہے ۔

And We had certainly given to David and Solomon knowledge, and they said, "Praise [is due] to Allah , who has favored us over many of His believing servants."

یقیناً ہم نے ثمود کی طرف ان کے بھائی صالح کو بھیجا کہ تم سب اللہ کی عبادت کرو پھر بھی وہ دو فریق بن کر آپس میں لڑنے جھگڑنے لگے ۔

And We had certainly sent to Thamud their brother Salih, [saying], "Worship Allah ," and at once they were two parties conflicting.

اور ان اگلے زمانے والوں کو ہلاک کرنے کے بعد ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو ایسی کتاب عنایت فرمائی جو لوگوں کے لئے دلیل اور ہدایت و رحمت ہو کر آئی تھی تاکہ وہ نصیحت حاصل کرلیں ۔

And We gave Moses the Scripture, after We had destroyed the former generations, as enlightenment for the people and guidance and mercy that they might be reminded.

اور ہم برابر پے درپے لوگوں کے لئے اپنا کلام بھیجتے رہے تاکہ وہ نصیحت حاصل کرلیں ۔

And We have [repeatedly] conveyed to them the Qur'an that they might be reminded.

ان سے اگلوں کو بھی ہم نے خوب جانچا یقیناً اللہ تعالٰی انہیں بھی جان لے گا جو سچ کہتے ہیں اور انہیں بھی معلوم کر لے گا جو جھوٹے ہیں ۔

But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.

اور ہم نے نوح ( علیہ السلام ) کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا وہ ان میں ساڑھے نو سو سال تک رہے پھر تو انہیں طوفان نے دھر پکڑا اور وہ تھے ظالم ۔

And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.

البتہ ہم نے اس بستی کو صریح عبرت کی نشانی بنا دیا ان لوگوں کے لئے جو عقل رکھتے ہیں ۔

And We have certainly left of it a sign as clear evidence for a people who use reason.

اور قارون اور فرعون اور ہامان کو بھی ، ان کے پاس حضرت موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کھلے کھلے معجزے لے کر آئے تھے پھر بھی انہوں نے زمین میں تکبر کیا لیکن ہم سے آگے بڑھنے والے نہ ہو سکے ۔

And [We destroyed] Qarun and Pharaoh and Haman. And Moses had already come to them with clear evidences, and they were arrogant in the land, but they were not outrunners [of Our punishment].

اور ہم نے آپ سے پہلے بھی اپنے رسولوں کو ان کی قوم کی طرف بھیجا وہ ان کے پاس دلیلیں لائے ۔ پھر ہم نے گناہ گاروں سے انتقام لیا ۔ ہم پر مومنوں کی مدد کرنا لازم ہے ۔

And We have already sent messengers before you to their peoples, and they came to them with clear evidences; then We took retribution from those who committed crimes, and incumbent upon Us was support of the believers.

بیشک ہم نے اس قرآن میں لوگوں کے سامنے کل مثالیں بیان کر دی ہیں آپ ان کے پاس کوئی بھی نشانی لائیں یہ کافر تو یہی کہیں گے کہ تم ( بیہودہ گو ) بالکل جھوٹے ہو ۔

And We have certainly presented to the people in this Qur'an from every [kind of] example. But, [O Muhammad], if you should bring them a sign, the disbelievers will surely say, "You [believers] are but falsifiers."

اور ہم نے یقیناً لقمان کو حکمت دی تھی کہ تو اللہ تعالٰی کا شکر کر ہر شکر کرنے والا اپنے ہی نفع کے لئے شکر کرتا ہے جو بھی ناشکری کرے وہ جان لے کہ اللہ تعالٰی بے نیاز اور تعریفوں والا ہے ۔

And We had certainly given Luqman wisdom [and said], "Be grateful to Allah ." And whoever is grateful is grateful for [the benefit of] himself. And whoever denies [His favor] - then indeed, Allah is Free of need and Praiseworthy.

بیشک ہم نے موسیٰ کو کتاب دی ، پس آپ کو ہرگز اس کی ملاقات میں شک نہ کرنا چاہیے اور ہم نے اسے بنی اسرائیل کی ہدایت کا ذریعہ بنایا ۔

And We certainly gave Moses the Scripture, so do not be in doubt over his meeting. And we made the Torah guidance for the Children of Israel.

اس سے پہلے تو انہوں نے اللہ سے عہد کیا تھا کہ پیٹھ نہ پھیریں گے اور اللہ تعالٰی سے کئے ہوئے وعدہ کی باز پرس ضرورہوگی ۔

And they had already promised Allah before not to turn their backs and flee. And ever is the promise to Allah [that about which one will be] questioned.

اور ہم نے داؤد پر اپنا فضل کیا اے پہاڑو! اس کے ساتھ رغبت سے تسبیح پڑھا کرو اور پرندوں کو بھی ( یہی حکم ہے ) اور ہم نے اس کے لئے لوہا نرم کر دیا ۔

And We certainly gave David from Us bounty. [We said], "O mountains, repeat [Our] praises with him, and the birds [as well]." And We made pliable for him iron,

اور شیطان نے ان کے بارے میں اپنا گمان سچا کر دکھایا یہ لوگ سب کے سب اس کے تابعدار بن گئے سوائے مومنوں کی ایک جماعت کے ۔

And Iblees had already confirmed through them his assumption, so they followed him, except for a party of believers.

شیطان نےتو تم میں سے بہت ساری مخلوق کو بہکا دیا ۔ کیا تم عقل نہیں رکھتے ۔

And he had already led astray from among you much of creation, so did you not use reason?

ان سے پہلے بھی بہت سے اگلے بہک چکے ہیں ۔

And there had already strayed before them most of the former peoples,

جن میں ہم نے ڈرانے والے ( رسول ) بھیجے تھے ۔

And We had already sent among them warners.

اور ہمیں نوح ( علیہ السلام ) نے پکارا تو ( دیکھ لو ) ہم کیسے اچھے دعا قبول کرنے والے ہیں ۔

And Noah had certainly called Us, and [We are] the best of responders.

یقیناً ہم نے موسیٰ اور ہارون ( علیہما السلام ) پر بڑا احسان کیا ۔

And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron.

اور ان لوگوں نے تو اللہ کے اور جنات کے درمیان بھی قرابت داری ٹھہرائی ہے ، اور حالانکہ خود جنات کو معلوم ہے کہ وہ ( اس عقیدے کے لوگ عذاب کے سامنے ) پیش کئے جائیں گے ۔

And they have claimed between Him and the jinn a lineage, but the jinn have already known that they [who made such claims] will be brought to [punishment].

اور البتہ ہمارا وعدہ پہلے ہی اپنے رسولوں کے لئے صادر ہو چکا ہے ۔

And Our word has already preceded for Our servants, the messengers,

اور ہم نے سلیمان ( علیہ السلام ) کی آزمائش کی اور ان کے تخت پر ایک جسم ڈال دیا پھر اس نے رجوع کیا ۔

And We certainly tried Solomon and placed on his throne a body; then he returned.

یقیناً تیری طرف بھی اور تجھ سے پہلے ( کے تمام نبیوں ) کی طرف بھی وحی کی گئی ہے کہ اگر تو نے شرک کیا تو بلاشبہ تیرا عمل ضائع ہو جائے گا اور بالیقین تو زیاں کاروں میں سے ہو جائے گا ۔

And it was already revealed to you and to those before you that if you should associate [anything] with Allah , your work would surely become worthless, and you would surely be among the losers."

اور اس سے پہلے تمہارے پاس ( حضرت ) یوسف دلیلیں لے کر آئے ، پھر بھی تم ان کی لائی ہوئی ( دلیل ) میں شک و شبہ ہی کرتے رہے یہاں تک کہ جب ان کی وفات ہوگئی تو کہنے لگے ان کے بعد تو اللہ کسی رسول کو بھیجے گا ہی نہیں ، اسی طرح اللہ گمراہ کرتا ہے ہر اس شخص کو جو حد سے بڑھ جانے والا شک وشبہ کرنے والا ہو ۔

And Joseph had already come to you before with clear proofs, but you remained in doubt of that which he brought to you, until when he died, you said, 'Never will Allah send a messenger after him.' Thus does Allah leave astray he who is a transgressor and skeptic."

ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو ہدایت نامہ عطا فرمایا اور بنو اسرائیل کو اس کتاب کا وارث بنایا ۔

And We had certainly given Moses guidance, and We caused the Children of Israel to inherit the Scripture

یقیناً ہم آپ سے پہلے بھی بہت سے رسول بھیج چکے ہیں جن میں سے بعض کے ( واقعات ) ہم آپ کو بیان کر چکے ہیں اور ان میں سے بعض کے ( قصے ) تو ہم نے آپ کو بیان ہی نہیں کئے اور کسی رسول کا یہ ( مقدور ) نہ تھا کہ کوئی معجزہ اللہ کی اجازت کے بغیر لا سکے پھر جس وقت اللہ کا حکم آئے گا حق کے ساتھ فیصلہ کر دیا جائے گا اور اس جگہ اہل باطل خسارے میں رہ جائیں گے ۔

And We have already sent messengers before you. Among them are those [whose stories] We have related to you, and among them are those [whose stories] We have not related to you. And it was not for any messenger to bring a sign [or verse] except by permission of Allah . So when the command of Allah comes, it will be concluded in truth, and the falsifiers will thereupon lose [all].

یقیناً ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو کتاب دی تھی ، سو اس میں بھی اختلاف کیا گیا اور اگر ( وہ ) بات نہ ہوتی ( جو ) آپ کے رب کی طرف سے پہلے ہی مقرر ہو چکی ہے تو ان کے درمیان ( کبھی کا ) فیصلہ ہو چکا ہوتا یہ لوگ تو اسکے بارے میں سخت بے چین کرنے والے شک میں ہیں ۔

And We had already given Moses the Scripture, but it came under disagreement. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been concluded between them. And indeed they are, concerning the Qur'an, in disquieting doubt.

اور ہم نے موسیٰ ( علیہ السلام ) کو اپنی نشانیاں دے کر فرعون اور اس کے امراء کے پاس بھیجا تو ( موسیٰ علیہ السلام نے جاکر ) کہا کہ میں تمام جہانوں کے رب کا رسول ہوں ۔

And certainly did We send Moses with Our signs to Pharaoh and his establishment, and he said, "Indeed, I am the messenger of the Lord of the worlds."

یقیناً ان سے پہلے ہم قوم فرعون کو ( بھی ) آزما چکے ہیں جن کے پاس ( اللہ کا ) با عزت رسول آیا ۔

And We had already tried before them the people of Pharaoh, and there came to them a noble messenger,

یقیناً ہم نے بنی اسرائیل کو کتاب ، حکومت اور نبوت دی تھی اور ہم نے انہیں پاکیزہ ( اور نفیس ) روزیاں دی تھیں اور انہیں دنیا والوں پر فضیلت دی تھی ۔

And We did certainly give the Children of Israel the Scripture and judgement and prophethood, and We provided them with good things and preferred them over the worlds.

اور بالیقین ہم نے ( قوم عاد ) کو وہ مقدور دیئے تھے جو تمہیں تو دیئے بھی نہیں اور ہم نے انہیں کان آنکھیں اور دل بھی دے رکھے تھے ۔ لیکن ان کے کانوں اور آنکھوں اور دلوں نے انہیں کچھ بھی نفع نہ پہنچایا جبکہ وہ اللہ تعالٰی کی آیتوں کا انکار کرنے لگے اور جس چیز کا وہ مذاق اڑایا کرتے تھے وہی ان پر الٹ پڑی ۔

And We had certainly established them in such as We have not established you, and We made for them hearing and vision and hearts. But their hearing and vision and hearts availed them not from anything [of the punishment] when they were [continually] rejecting the signs of Allah ; and they were enveloped by what they used to ridicule.

اور یقیناً ہم نے تمہارے آس پاس کی بستیاں تباہ کر دیں اور طرح طرح کی ہم نے اپنی نشانیاں بیان کر دیں تاکہ وہ رجوع کرلیں ۔

And We have already destroyed what surrounds you of [those] cities, and We have diversified the signs [or verses] that perhaps they might return [from disbelief].
